Chapter 30

Nicklaus’ POV:

Two days ago.

It had been a long day at work for me. I sat behind the desk and operated my laptop. I stood up and walked around to see how the new application design was carried out.

I and my team worked hand in hand to see that everything was perfect and going smoothly. I have been working to bring the company to its feet and maintain the position of being the first in the world.

I got carried away with work, and before I knew it, the day had passed. I wasn't supposed to take so long, but business had to be done. I had to still maintain my position. I didn't want to mix business with you, please, but I found myself missing Elena.

I couldn't wait to return to Los Angeles. I had been thinking about her since I travelled. I wondered how she was doing and if she was in good shape. I couldn't wait to see her.

When I spoke with her last night, I noticed that she was sounding weak and tired, so I allowed her to sleep, hoping that she would regain her strength today.

I hope I have gotten her pregnant. I am ready to be a dad, and this is what I have been waiting for. I arrived at the airport, but I told Mr. Mike not to say anything to Elena about my arrival. I hope she doesn't get mad at me for not telling her. But I couldn't help myself. I wanted to see her reaction to know if she would be happy to see me.

She had been on my mind all day, and I could not get her off my mind. I wondered what she was doing at the moment. I hope she is doing fine and taking care of herself. I couldn't wait to hold her in my hands again.

We are here, sir," my driver said as we arrived at the penthouse, and he parked in the driveway. The car came to a stop.

"Thank you, Michael," I said as we pulled up. I was so excited to be back home.

I didn't want to waste time. I stepped out and headed for the door. I hope I am not being too dramatic. I just miss Elena, and I want to see her. I want to make sure that she is okay.

I hoped I wasn't being too dramatic, but I have missed Elena.

“You are welcome, sir,” my chef greeted me.

I nodded my head and walked into the hallway. I saw Mr. Mike and welcomed him while nodding his head.

“Thank you, Mr. Mike,” I said. “Where is Elena?” I asked, looking around to see if I would see any sign of Elena.

His facial expression turned serious, and he hesitated before speaking up. “She’s in her room. She hasn't been feeling well all day. She is with Zoey and Irina,” he said.

“Why was Elena ill? What was wrong with her?

"Why didn't you tell me about it earlier? I would have arrived early. Did you call the doctor?" I asked, my eyes narrowing slightly. I couldn't believe no one had informed me about Elena's health. I would have left everything that kept me busy.

Before Mr. Mike could say a word, I ran to the room. I couldn't wait any longer to see Elena. I hoped she was okay and that it was just a minor issue. But I was scared.

I pushed open the door and rushed inside, my heart racing with anticipation. The room was quiet, except for the soft murmur of voices.

She was standing, holding pregnancy test strips in her hands. My facial expression softened. I have always wanted this, and I didn't know it would be this soon.

I walked up to her, and our eyes locked. “Is that what I think it is? Why are you holding those?” I asked, feeling so much excitement and joy in me.
