Chapter 32

Sarah's POV:

My heart was filled with so much, and I was getting frustrated. My blood was boiling through my veins and felt like I would explode any minute.

I couldn't believe what I had just witnessed. Elena looked happy and glowed. She was living her best life while I was here, jubilating that she was in a hell hole. I could not believe she and Nicklaus turned out to be in love and built a very strong relationship.

I had separated her from Caleb because I knew that he would make her happy, and now Nicklaus is making her happier. I regretted my actions. Nicklaus is even more handsome in person. I had been dreaming of ending with such a man, and now Elena had him to herself.

Nicklaus is very handsome and has fallen in love with Elena. I saw all of their activities on the blogs, but I thought the bloggers were lying. My blood was boiling, and I felt very angry. If I had known, I would have gotten married to Nicklaus.

I would have convinced my father to introduce me to the Coleman son earlier. I thought he was crippled just like his father was.

I ran upstairs to my room with my seat tightened at my side. My eyes were already tearing up, and I couldn't hold myself anymore.

I ran past my mother, who was seated with a guest in the lounge. She chatted laughter, but her mood changed when she noticed my expression.

"Sarah My mother called my name, but I didn't respond. I swung my room door open and ran inside, closing the door behind me.

My mother opened and closed the door, trying to get my attention. She walked up to me and called my name, "Sarah? What's wrong? Why are you putting on a long face? Everybody down there noticed.”

I stopped pacing and looked at her; my eyes were filled with anger. "You know exactly what's wrong? I thought you wanted to marry Elena off to Nicklaus so that we could have the best life and enjoy dad’s wealth, but it seems Elena is living her best life," I said, my voice raising.

My mother’s eyes widened, and her jaws dropped. She gestured for me to reduce my voice. “What do you mean?” she whispered.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. "What I mean is that Nicklaus and Elena are deeply in love. They're happy together, and it's not fair." My voice is cracking.

My mother's facial expression hardened, and she muttered the cuss word, “fuck.” She spoke, “Well, you caused all of this because you thought he was a crippled man. Now you see him in magazines after getting married to Elena. It's all your fault."

"I can't sit here and watch her live her best life. I must do something about it. Nicklaus will be mine," I said, feeling determined.

I will make sure I take away her happiness, even if it will be with my last drop of blood.

I collapsed on the chair, and my mind was filled with thoughts of Nicklaus and Elena's marriage. I couldn't bear the thought of them together living their best life while I was stuck in this miserable state.

My mother's words echoed in my mind. She was right. I had underestimated Nicklaus, thinking he was a crippled man who wouldn't amount to anything.

Why did she get to be happy while I was miserable? I thought of all the ways I could sabotage her and Caleb’s relationship so he would get married to me instead of her, and now I have lost.

My mother stared at me, and she started to walk around, trying to clear her head and come up with a plan.

“Mother,” I called.

She turned to me. “That’s not all; I think Elena is already pregnant for Nicklaus,” I said.

My mother’s jaw dropped, and she tightened her fist. “No way. This can't be happening,” she replied while walking around the room.

“No, I can't let Elena. Even way richer than this family’s wealth combined. Mother, we have to do something about this.

I began to form a plan in my mind. A plan to make Nicklaus mine and get him to be all mine. I would do whatever it took, no matter the cost. I would show Elena that she wasn't the only one who could make Nicklaus happy.

I stood up and narrowed my eyes. "I will do whatever it takes to make Nicklaus mine," I said, my voice firm. My mother looked at me, and I could see how worried she was.

I poured myself a glass of whisky and gulped it down continuously, minding the burn in my throat. I lit my cigarette and began smoking.
