Nicklaus’ POV:
I was seated at my desk, discussing work projects and business transactions with the board of directors. I could hear how busy the office was today. It was a hectic season.
Phones rang and were answered continuously, with papers shuffling and a lot of work going on. The new project had led to everybody having a very busy schedule.
Andre, one of my close friends and a business partner, paid me a visit, and we discussed the ongoing project and our next appointment. We also chatted about our personal lives and caught up on a lot.
There was a gentle door, and I looked up and said, "Come in.” I spoke, and it was swung open by Joe. He walked inside the office and approached me with an envelope in his hand.
“I apologise for the interruption, sir; this came in for you,” he said, extending his hands to pass me the envelope.
“An invitation card to the Los Angeles Academy Awards,” he stated.
I looked through the card and read the content. “The Los Angeles Academy Awards,”
I looked through the invitation card, and it brought back so many memories. I had not attended any high-profile events since five years ago.
I decided to go low and not make anybody notice me. Now that I have been noticed and the paparazzi have been making their findings about me and Elena, all attention has been turned to us again.
Should I attend this year’s Academy Awards, or should I just let it slide? I thought to myself.
“There have been a lot of rumours going around about me and Elena’s marriage. I think this is a good time to attend and clear the air. They must see that the person spreading false news against us has been giving them false information.” I spoke
“You should carefully think this through,” André responded cautiously. “Especially given the recent talk around you and Elena.”
I wanted this to be private and to enjoy my married life peacefully, but it seems the media has been getting some of their facts wrong, and it has been ruining my reputation. This is the time to prove them wrong.
After Andre expressed his views, I agreed with him and resolved to attend the event.
"I'll go with Elena," I announced confidently, and I began considering the necessary arrangements.
“I also got an invitation early this morning with me and my wife,” he said.
“Oh! That's great.” I spoke.
I grabbed my mobile phone and contacted my stylists, Penelope and Rob.
They picked up the call immediately and said, “Good day, Mr. Coleman.” Penelope greeted.
“Hi, Penelope. How have you been?” I asked.
“I'm doing great; thank you, sir,” she responded.
“That’s great. I will be attending this year's Academy Award next week, and I would like you to design stunning outfits for me and my wife.” I spoke.
“It will be a pleasure, sir; I and my team haven't styled you in ages. I will make sure to do my best,” she said. Her voice was full of excitement.
“That would be great; you can drop by the house tomorrow afternoon to take our measurements. See you soon,” I spoke and hung up.
It would be nice to attend this event with Elena, and we need to find a dress that complements her beauty. I want the whole world to know that she is mine.
Elena’s POV:It is another lovely day. I woke up very early in the morning to do some exercises and stretch my legs. The antenatal classes have been helpful, and I have been feeling at ease for some time now. I finished my morning exercise when the sun had risen, and I walked into the house to have a nice shower. Nicklaus helped me in the shower.I went downstairs and tied my hair up in a messy bun. I perceived the smell of bacon and fried fish, which made me even more hungry.“Good morning, Madam,” the chefs greeted. “Good morning,” I said back as I sat at the kitchen counter. They all fixed their eyes on me, and I raised an eyebrow. “Why are y'all staring?” I asked, placing my hands under my chin. “Do I look like a mess?” I askedOne of the chefs nodded her head. “Quite the contrary, ma'am. Your skin glows, and you look heavenly. I rolled my eyes. “That's what you get when you are being taken care of,” I said, and we all laughed. She stood up to pour me a glass of fresh juice,
Elena’s POV:My heart skipped a bit, and I stood frozen. Zoey was in front of me as she chatted about the whole day's activities, not knowing that I had been behind. My jaw dropped, and my eyes widened.“Elena, why did you stop?” Zoey asked, and she turned back to me. I decided to quickly walk away from him when he held my hands. “Elena, we need to talk,” he said. I quickly removed my hand from his grip and said, "Stay away from me. There is nothing to talk about.” I spoke and wanted to walk away when he held my hands. Zoey quickly ran to me and saw that it was Caleb that I was talking to. I struggled to remove my hand from his grip. “Let go of her now, you scumbag?” Zoey ordered, her voice rising. Caleb gave her a daring look and turned to me. He released my hands, and I wanted to walk away from him as quickly as I could. When he tried to hold my hand again, I raised my hand and landed it on his face, giving him a dirty slap.“I never want to cross paths with you. Let me the fu
Elena’s POV:I woke up early in the morning and carefully stirred in the bed. I noticed that the bed was empty, so I opened my eyes. I remembered that I had fallen asleep in Nicklaus's arms, and he wasn't in bed. I slowly got out of bed and walked into the bathroom, hoping to find him in there since it was still too early to go to work. I swung the door open and scanned the room, but Nicklaus was nowhere in the room. “Nicklaus?” I called out while walking out of the bathroom. I walked out of the bedroom and headed downstairs. I could perceive the nice aroma of an omelette and bacon. My stomach growled, but I ignored the hunger and searched for Nicklaus. I walked into the kitchen to see a completely different person in the kitchen; it was Nicklaus. He was dressed in his vest and shorts, which revealed his muscles. He wears an apron.I narrowed my eyes and moved closer. “Nicklaus? I called. He turned around and looked at me with a wide grin on his face, and his eyes sparked. “Good
Elena’s POV:It was the day of the Los Angeles Academy Award, and I was so excited. Never in my life did I ever imagine that I would be attending such high-profile events filled with rich and famous people. My stepmother had always made it known to me that I was a nobody. I thought my Luce had ended when I was forced to get married to Nicklahs, and I never knew that my life was just starting. I was so excited as the stylist, the makeup artists, and the rest of the team arrived. They prepared me for the event tonight. I watched them as they roamed around the room, using their skilled hands to transform me into the epitome of beauty. My maid, Irina, stood beside me, making sure that everything was going smoothly, and provided me with everything I needed. Nicklaus had not returned from work. He had important meetings to attend. I guess he will be back soon. I missed him, and he called me from time to time. I sat comfortably in the chair, sipping a glass of fresh juice and snacking on
Nicklaus’s POV:I stood in front of the door, my eyes fixed on the grand staircase, as I waited for Elena to come downstairs. After a few minutes, she elegantly walked down the stairs. Her presence commanded her attention, and my gaze was on her. She looked so beautiful and attractive in that red dress. She is a real beauty, and I never regretted making her my wife. She walked down the stairs with a broad smile on her face as our eyes met. The bright light from the chandelier made her look like the spotlight, and I became speechless. She has always been a beautiful woman; right from the first day I set my eyes on her at the altar. I am glad she will be the mother of my kids with these beautiful genes. Her black hair was styled perfectly, and her makeup was natural and flawless. I patiently waited for her to come downstairs when I walked up to her. I smiled at her and said, “You are so beautiful, my wife.” I spoke, and my voice was so audible that my workers could hear me. They al
Elena’s POV:After a short drive, we arrived at the villa. We came out of the car and walked to the red carpet with Nicklaus’ bodyguards shielding us. The camera clicked, and light flashed from different angles. Nicklaus placed his hands on my waist as we walked through the red carpet, making our way to the red carpet rolled on the floor. My palms became sweaty as we approached the crows. I exhaled and tried to calm my nerves.“I'm getting nervous,” I whispered to him. He leaned in and kissed me on the forehead. “I know people are watching us. Just be calm and be yourself. I am right here with you,” he said, assuring me.“Are you ready?” he asked.Smiling nervously, I nodded in agreement. I have only seen this on TV and every social media site; never in my life did I think I would experience such.We walked down the red carpet to the entrance. The paparazzi wouldn't stop taking pictures of our every move, and they started throwing questions at us. Nicklaus remained calm as he plac
Elena’s POV:I woke up very early in the morning when I felt the sun's rays, and I became warm in Nicklaus's arms. I felt warm for a few minutes and decided to cuddle up with Nicklaus while taking a deep breath. I opened my eyes with a warm smile, and my gaze fell on Nicklaus. His eyes were opened, and he had been staring at me. “Good morning, beautiful.” He greeted me warmly. “Good morning, my love. Did you sleep well?” I asked, and my voice was low and husky. “Yes, I did, and you?” he asked.“I did,”“And the baby?”“Very well.”It is a beautiful Friday morning, and I feel very energetic. I stirred, yawned, and stretched my body a little. Nicklaus and I gladly rolled out of bed and walked into the bathroom. I wanted to exercise a little, but I felt tired. Since I have been attending birth class this week, I can skip today and have a great time. I walked to the door barefoot and splashed water on my face. I observed my skin in the mirror and noticed how radiant it looked. I ha
Elena’s POV:I was surprised to see them this early in the morning, but I gestured for them to join me. “Come join me for breakfast.I was interested in knowing if they visited this morning. I watched them as they walked elegantly, carefully swaying their hips from side to side.“Sit down.” I spoke and gestured for them to sit down. The chefs served us breakfast, and the atmosphere was weird.I became curious, and I narrowed my eyes. “What brings you here?” I asked, breaking the silence. My stepmother looked at me and reached for my hands to gently squeeze them. Her eye fell on my baby bump.“Elena, I am so sorry for everything that happened. We wanted to save you from the disgrace of Caleb leaving you on your wedding day,” she said.“Mother, that's enough. I know you did it for Dad’s company, and it's fine.” I spoke. She nodded her head nervously. “Yes, that was also included, but look at you. You are very happy right now. I am so happy for you, Elena. Please forgive me,” she plead
