Alex’s POV:
I drove off to the Coleman Enterprise for the meeting, and I couldn't help but think about Elena on my way. She had previously lost consciousness on the day of her court hearing, and now she is throwing up.
I couldn't help but worry about her, and you wanted to know if she was doing alright. She didn't look so good. Could it be the stress of everything that is beginning to affect her? I've been noticing some changes in her.
I just hope that she isn't letting everything that is happening get to her. I promise to bring her out of this mess and give her the peace that she deserves.
I arrived at the Coleman Enterprise after what felt like forever, and I walked into the building. The guards took me to the upper room in the elevator, where Mr. Coleman’s office is located.
I knocked on the door, and it gently opened. I walked into the office with Mr. Coleman. And Mr. John sat as they discussed.
“Good day, Mr. Coleman, Mr. John.” I greeted and extended my hands for a firm handshake.
“You are here just in time, Mr. Alex; please sit; shall we begin?” Mr. Coleman spoke
“Yes,” I nodded my head. “What about Mr. Nicholas Coleman? Won't he be joining us?” I asked.
“He won't be in attendance. He is busy planning for his marriage, which will be in three days' time,” Mr. Coleman spoke.
My heart skipped a beat. This would hurt Elena. I don't think it would be necessary to inform her about it.
The meeting began, and Mr. John brought out some documents in his briefcase and handed them over to me. I carefully scanned through the documents and read in between the lines.
“This is the court order. They had agreed to grant Elena bail because of the close relationship she and her family have with the Coleman. You have to make the payment tomorrow, and they will drop all the charges. Miss Elena will be a free woman,” he explained.
I smiled, feeling excited. I didn't know how to express joy. I was ready to make payment so that Elena would be free, but I will be patient to follow the due process tomorrow. It's a good thing Mr. Coleman is always ready for business transactions.
Even if Elena will not be happy with me. I will make sure that she is free and safe with me. I do not want her to be hurt in silence alone.
“Thank you so much for your understanding, Mr. Coleman.” I spoke calmly with a smile on my face.
"Well, you know I don't mix business with pleasure. I hope she starts a better life,” he responded.
“You have nothing to worry about. Once again, I apologise for any inconvenience. Thank you so much for making it easy for Elena. I have to take my leave right now,”
“Have a nice day,” I spoke and gave both of them a handshake before walking out of the room.
I was so excited that I drove back to the penthouse instead of heading straight to work. I rang the doorbell, and Elena opened up.
My face lit up, and she smiled when she saw me. “How did it go?” she asked.
I couldn't control my excitement as I walked into the house. "You have been granted bail, and all the charges will be dropped.” I spoke excitedly and wrapped my arms around her tightly.
Elena giggled in excitement, and when she pulled away, our eyes locked, and there was a moment of silence for the both of us.
She cleared her throat and walked to the couch. “I have something to tell you, Alex,” she spoke.
“I also have something else to tell you, Elena,” I spoke.
“I will go first,” she said, feeling excited. I could see her eyes sparkling.
“Alright, you go first.”
She took in a deep breath and exhaled. She reached for her phone and scrolled through it as if she were searching for something.
She looked at me and let out a wide smile. “Well, I have an easy way to bail myself. I just realised that I had an investment with Cloud X Company with up to half a million. We can get it tomorrow and make payment as soon as possible, and I will become a free woman,” she said and giggled.
I smiled, but I was really excited. Elena noticed my mood and looked at me. “Alex, aren't you excited?” she asked.
“Of course I am, but I wanted to help you out with this, Elena,” I said.
She carefully reached for my hands and squeezed them gently. “I know Alex, but I do not want to feel indebted to anybody anymore. I just want to do this for myself and gain my freedom,” she spoke and exhaled. She paused for a while before she continued speaking. “Besides, you have done enough for me, and without you, I don't know where I would have been. I really appreciate that,” she spoke.
I smiled, feeling relaxed and proud of her. “I have never been more proud of you than I am. You are strong and resilient. I am glad I helped you out, Elena,” I spoke, and our eyes locked again.
We almost kissed again when I briefly pulled away, “Um, I have to get to the office. Some clients need my attention,” I spoke and stood up to leave.
She smiled as she walked me to the door. I glanced at her before walking into the elevator. I wish I could stay back and spend more time with her.
Sarah’s POV:I was walking downstairs from the mansion, my heels clicking on the floor, when I heard Nicklaus's car pulling into the compound. I glanced out the window and saw him step out of the vehicle, looking very handsome in his black tailored suit. He had to rush to work early in the morning to take care of some business.Even though he had been distant, I felt excited that he had returned home just in time for us to discuss with the event planners and the stylists. Nicklaus’s father, Mr. Coleman, wants us to hasten the wedding preparations so that he can retire and have a good time. And I, Sarah, will be the worst to the richest man in the world. I wondered to myself, and I walked to greet Nicklaus. The wedding is in two days, and I have never been this excited all my life. It felt like a dream come true, and everything is already aligning in my favour.I approached him, “Welcome back, honey; you came just in time.” I spoke and walked to him. I gently kissed him on the lips,
Nicklaus’s POV:“Mr. Nicklaus Coleman, Elena has been granted bail.” Mr. John spoke on the other side of the line.I narrowed my eyes. “What do you mean?” I asked.“Your father had removed the charges he pressed against Elena with a bail of five hundred thousand dollars,” he spoke. I quickly stormed out of the herd when Mr. John called to explain the whole process to me. I could not believe that my father allowed the court to grant bail to Elena when he should have just removed the charges that he pressed against her. I got into my car and zoomed off to my father's house. I needed to see him face-to-face and have a word with him. I need a clear explanation of what happened, and I also need to know why Elena’s lawyer requested that she be set free on bail. After a short drive, I arrived at my father’s mansion. I quickly got out of my car and walked into my father's study. He was sitting in his study smoking a stick of cigarettes. “Why did you storm into my study like that, Nicklay
Elena’s POV:Alex reluctantly moved from the doorway, and my eyes fell on Nicklaus standing outside. His eyes met mine, and they locked in his gaze. I didn't want to look at him, but I couldn't control my wondering eyes. I chocked. “Hey! Elena. Are you alright?” Immediately Alex calmed me down, and he reached for my hand. I took in a deep breath and composed myself. Nicklaus took a step forward to offer a helping hand when I stopped him by raising my hands. “I'm fine,” I said.I stood straight and decided to face him. This time around, I won't be so timid again. I want to be bold. I have regained my freedom, and I have the right to stand up to whom I wish to stand up to.I gave him a daring look as my blood was boiling inside of me. “What are you doing here?” I asked. Nicklaus didn't say a word; instead, he took another step further closer to me, and I stopped him. “Answer my question, what are you doing here?” I asked.“Elena, can we talk?” He asked gently. “There is nothing t
Alex stopped in his tracks, and his eyes were on Elena. He didn't know what to say, and they both stared at each other in silence. His heart skipped as soon as possible as he remembered what Elena had just announced. “How long have you kept this from me, Elena?” He asked, taking a step forward and fixing his gaze on her. He wanted answers. He had been spending time with Elena, and he had never paid attention to such before, and she didn't even announce it to him.Elena sobbed, and she fixed her eyes on the floor. “For a couple of weeks,” she announced. Her voice trembled heavily as she sniffed. His heart slammed hard against his chest. It felt as if it had been pierced with a knife. “Fuck,” Alex muttered under his breath. “Who else knows about it? Does Zoey know about it?”Elena shook her head tirelessly, “Nobody knows. Not Zoey, not Nicklaus, and it should be that way,” she spoke and walked over to the couch. She collapsed on the couch.Alex took in a deep breath and walked toward
Sarah had been very busy making arrangements for the wedding, and her mother made sure that everything was in place. Everything was perfect until she realised that she had one more job to do. After a long drive, almost at the outskirts of Los Angeles, she walked into a dark underground building and stood there for a while. A man walked out of a room with a stick of cigarettes in his hands.Sarah smirked, and she laughed at the same time. “Long time no see, black wolf." “Sarah, it's been a long time. I have been seeing you all over the blogs. You are indeed a smart woman. That's the goal,” he said, dragging his cigarette. Sarah giggled and gave him a tight hug. “It's been a while. I've got a job for you,” she whispered in his ears. She pulled away, and they both walked into the dark underground with so many bodyguards guarding the place and tonnes of ammunition arranged on the wall.Sarah looked around, scanning the whole room, and smiling. It's been a long time since she visited he
Sarah walked into the mansion with a broad smile on her face. She knew that she had already accomplished her mission.Marina walked outside to the hallways to welcome Sarah, and she couldn't stop staring at Sarah as she smiled throughout. She wanted to know what it was that was making Sarah happy. When she was done attending to Sarah and preparing her bathtub, she walked into her room and put on her earbuds, in a hurry to listen to Sarah’s conversations. She operated it from her mobile phone to listen to Sarah’s recordings for the day, but she discovered nothing. It turned out that the recorder was blank. She narrowed her eyes and decided to try the recorder in Sarah’s room, and it was still blank. She wondered if it was the signal. She quickly walked into Sarah’s room but discovered that the door was locked. She tried to act normal, but her heart kept pounding hard in her chest. She hurried into her room and paced around. “What could be the problem?” “Did Sarah discover the recor
Sarah’s POV:“The target is out of the mansion."I sat on the bed after having dinner. I was sipping non-alcoholic wine. I let out a satisfied sigh and sat on my bed. I knew the black wolf was already on the lookout for Marina. She had been acting nervous since she discovered that I found out about the recorder. She is going to find out about it tomorrow. She won't live to testify. Just when I was lost in thought, my phone buzzed. “We found her,” it read.It was a message from a black wolf. I met out with a sly and calculating smile. “Good work. See you tomorrow,” I texted back and dropped my phone on the bedside.I turned off the light and went straight to sleep, feeling satisfied and happy that everything was working in my favour. With time, I will get Nicklaus to love me, and he would not be able to do without me.****The next morning, I woke up feeling happy and a little tired. I had been feeling nauseous lately and gained some weight. The symptoms of pregnancy were beginni
Elena’s POV:I woke up very early in the morning because of my constant nightmares. My mind still replayed the nightmares in my head. For two days now I have been contemplating whether to open up and tell Nicklaus about my pregnancy since he is the father of my baby. He abandoned me without thinking twice about it. He signed the divorce papers and forced me to sign them.I lay on the bed and tossed around. I lay on my back and stared at the ceiling. I thought about the whole thing. I wanted to keep this pregnancy a secret because I did not want anything to hinder my plans. I had been planning to go far away and start my life. To have a fresh start. Away from everybody, but I didn't even know where to start, but the idea of going away and starting over again had been my dream.I was happy last night because the waiter released a statement at the court and claimed that the allegations against me that caused my miscarriage were false. This made me a little proud of myself. At least I g
