Chapter 141

Elena’s POV:

We arrived at the Hallmark Resort and Spa. It had a breathtaking view. It was everything we had ever dreamed of.

Maybe I feel excited to be It's been a while since I travelled for a vacation. Since my last vacation with Nicklaus, I hadn't gone on any.

My mind replayed how me and Nicklaus’s honeymoon vacation went, but I tried to brush it off.

I turned to him, “Do you love it, baby?” I asked.

"Yes, mummy,” he said. He looked at me and said, “Mummy, can I go okay? He asked.

I shook my head. “No, Wave. We just arrived. We need to settle down before you go play. Now let's go in,” I said. It's a good thing that Wave always listens to me before he does anything.

We walked into the beautiful hotel, and I admired every bit of it. I couldn't believe that Sam owned such a luxurious hotel.

There was desert and a lot of fruit on the table. “Mummy, can I try some?” Wave asked.

I nodded my head. “Yes, you may, but don't eat too much sugar,” I said, giving him a smile.

We freshened up, and lunch was served. Everything was in order, and the workers treated us with so much respect. I allowed Wave to take any sweet he liked since it was his day. I couldn't wait to relax and have my body massaged.

We have been here for a few hours, and Wave still has so much energy. He had been playing and running around with his toys.

He ran to me. “Mummy, mummy, something is happening outside; let's go check it out,”

I groaned and let out a deep exhale. “Baby, we will go check it out later. Can we at least get some rest?” I said and tried to lay back on the couch when she gently squeezed my hand.

“Mummy, I promise this is the last one. It's a candy night,” he said.

I rolled my eyes. “Fine,” I said, and I stood up from the couch.

“Yes, mummy, okay okay,” he said while jumping around. We walked out to the nightstand. The whole place was filled with crowds. Everybody seemed to be enjoying the fun of the night, including Baby Wave, but I was so tired.

“Mummy, I want that big candy, please,” he says.

“Just this one last candy. You have had enough sugar for today,” I said.

“Can I have that candy, please? How much is it?” I asked and opened my purse. I paid the man, and while we were about to walk out, a little girl and her mother walked to the stand.

“Can we get some candy, please? My daughter has been crying all day about it,” she said.

“I'm sorry, ma'am, but that's the last one,” the man said.

The woman scoffed, and her daughter began to cry even louder. My eyes went down to the little girl

She looked so cute, and it pained me that she could not get candy. Baby Wave noticed how sad she was, and he placed the candy in her front.

“Hello, would you like to share with me?” he asked.  I was surprised by his kindness, but I feel proud because I have always thought he was kind to others.

The girl’s face lit up, and she smiled. She nodded her head. “Yes, please. That n you,” she said. They were both holding the candle in halves.

Her mother looked at me and smiled, “Thank you so much. She had been crying all day for it while we were on our way here. At least I will get some rest; your son is so kind.”

Wave was smiling. He looked at the girl. “My name is Wave; what's yours?”

“My name is Ann,”

I turned to his mother, “They look so great together, don't they?” I smiled.

She nodded her head. “Your little boy is a gentleman,” she commented.

“Do you want to play?” Ann asked.

Wave turns to me. "Mother, can I go play with Ann?” he asked.

I looked at him after a few seconds of thinking about it. “You have 20 minutes, and we will go back to the hotel,” I said. I can't say no to him, and it is his birthday.

Immediately, they were running around the whole place. Ann’s mother and I watched them as they played. They looked happy, and I am glad they are having fun.

“So why are you guys here? It seems like you just arrived today, just like us,” Ann’s mother asked.

“It's Wave’s birthday today; we came from the city,” I said with a smile.

“Wow, that's great,” she said.

“So why are you here?” I asked.

“Well, we always visit here once a year. It is like a tradition for me, my husband, and Ann. We came from Los Angeles,” she said.

I raised my eyebrow, “Oh! Great. That must be a long ride. Your husband? Where is he?” I asked.

“He is in the hotel taking a nap,” she said.

I nodded my head and I remembered Nicklaus. We would have been a beautiful family just like hers, but everything we built scattered, and he let me go. I felt sad for some time, but I decided to brush it off.

The children were breathing hard from running as they approached us. “All alright, kids. That's enough. Wait, you have to get some rest right now,” I said.

“Same with you, Ann,” her mother said. She turned to wave. “Your mom said it's your birthday today; happy birthday,” she said.

I looked at them smiling, and we all departed. “See you tomorrow,” I said, and we walked to our room.

Wave wouldn't stop talking about his new friend. We had dinner and a hot bath. He was still happy and telling Zoey about Ann.

After a while, we retired to bed and had a good night's rest.
