I couldn’t tell whether Alan was trying to spite me, or if he was just angry but for the next two days, he had said not more than three words to me. It was infuriating enough that Zachary was avoiding me like a plague in school especially after finding out something had happened between Alan and I, and now, I had to also deal with the silent treatment Alan was now showing to me.

Standing at the entrance of the house with my back against the already opened door, I watched Alan flirt with a girl I didn’t think I had ever seen before, someone I imagined he knew from his home pack. He had told my father that he suspected the girl to be his mate, so my father had said nothing when he invited her to the house.
