It was Alan’s coronation ceremony, and we were all gathered in the shifting square to witness the occasion. I stood sandwiched between Freya and Chloe, who looked at the podium Alan stood with love in their eyes. It was difficult for me to concentrate on the event though, because I kept thinking of Zachary even though it had been two weeks since his death, but I stood there, looking on like everyone else.
