Melissa
I kept tossing and turning during the night, thinking of the implications of not just having two men, but two mates. The fact that I was sexually drawn to both men made the situation even worse for me.
They were both very different; I continued to think as I lay on my side. While Alan had the god-like sexy look that was harsh to the eyes, the other one whose name I later found out to be Zach from one of my party guests, had a calmer look. His lush brown hair was perfectly styled backward on his head, while his eyes had been a dark color of blue that I could tell shone brightly like the sea.
“Damn it.” I groaned, sitting up on my bed again, my hair already ruffled from constant touching. I stared hard at my door, reminding myself that Alan was sleeping just few steps away from my room. I could go to him and beg him to take me roughly on his bed throughout the entire night. But that wouldn’t speak well of me, I recalled.
He was my step brother and even though the moongoddess had made him my mate, sleeping with him or even having any sexual relations with him, would put me in trouble. I had two mates whom circumstances had made forbidden to touch and I could not hate the moongoddess more for her twisted humor.
My mind kept drifting towards Alan and Zach even as I woke up the next morning to prepare for school. The event of the night had made me so lazy that it was difficult to even drag a brush through my hair.
I managed to get ready for school anyway, and as I walked out of the room, Alan stood outside his door, his hands folded on his chest.
I made to ignore him and walk pass, but he placed his leg on the wall, stopping me from achieving my aim. “I couldn’t sleep, Melissa.” He said to me with ragged voice that made my breasts tingle even while inside my bra.
Looking around to make sure no one was watching us, I took another step forward, wanting to take his leg away from the wall when he caught my wrist, his harsh touch sending tingling signals down my body.
“It was difficult to drift off knowing you were just across the hall.” He added, his eyes dreamy and very dark. “Were you able to sleep, Melissa?”
I cleared my throat, listening carefully to the sounds in the house to make sure no one was on their way out of their rooms. “You should stop speaking to me, Alan.” I said to him when I saw that the coast was clear. “You are going to get both of us in trouble.”
“Why are we going to get in trouble?” He asked, looking deeply into my eyes, making sure I could see the desires in them. “We are step-siblings and step-siblings talk to eachother.”
“Good. At least you remember that we are step siblings.” I replied, shaking my head at him. “Step-siblings do not talk about desires and sex to eachother.”
“It is not my fault that we are mates, Melissa.” He replied, using his thumb to rub at my wrist. "I don’t know why you are hiding this thing we feel for eachother.”
“This merge is important for my pack and yours.” I said, placing my hand on his leg again. “My father will kill me if I ruin it, Alan.”
Without giving him the opportunity to reply, I snapped his leg off the wall, the hard push making him fall to the ground with a thud. To prevent myself from laughing, I covered my mouth with my hand, before walking down the stairs and out of the house.
Alan may be right that it wasn’t our fault we were mated, but not everyone would see it that way. My father would kill me if he ever heard that I was having sexual relations with a boy who was now bound by tradition to me. His disappointment in me was one thing I didn’t think I could live with.
Mia met me at the gate of the school and I noticed the concerned look on her face. She took my hands when we were nearer and leaned into me, the scent of her expensive perfume filling my nostrils.
“What happened yesterday, Melissa?” She asked while we walked to the classroom. “You just disappeared out of your own party. So many people were disappointed.”
“I didn’t disappear, Mia” I replied immediately. “The ceremony was almost over when I left.”
“Your father was seriously looking for you.” She continued, releasing my arms. “I hope he didn’t give you hell this morning?”
“He didn’t.” I replied, even though I had not seen him before leaving the house. “And believe me, he doesn’t give me hell, I am his favorite daughter.”
“You are his only daughter.” she rolled her eyes at me and I chuckled lightly.
We got to the classroom in no time and after discovering we would be having training classes first, went back to the changing room to change from our neatly ironed uniforms to our black training kits.
Inside the training hall where the other werewolves were already gathering, I received a standing ovation as someone who just shifted to her wolf for the first time. It was a tradition in school that had been in play for the longest time, so I accepted the claps with a huge smile on my face and a playful bow.
“We welcome the newest addition to the big ballers of the school.” Mia said playfully to me and everyone laughed out loud.
“Anyone who hears you speak would think you have been shifting for a very long time.” I retorted and she rolled her eyes at me.
“I shifted three lunar months before you did.” she bragged with a huge smile on her face.” I am way older than you are, little one.”
I opened my mouth to defend myself, but the silence that went over the hall stopped me from doing so. We all turned to the architect of the silence to see a man walking into the hall. He was dressed in white trainers, signifying that he was a professor, so we all began to get ready for the class.
My inner wolf jumped up in alert immediately and before the man got to the middle of the class to introduce himself, I already knew from the tingling sensation in my stomach, who it was going to be.
Zach.
Zach, my fated mate is going to be the professor in charge of training me? I asked myself. Why don’t the moon goddess just kill me and get it all over with?
The professor finally stood in front of the class and as he opened his nicely shaped mouth to introduce himself, his eyes caught sight of me and he froze on the spot.
Melissa. He dipped his fingers into my lush hair as his lips caressed my ears lobes. I felt his soft hands massaging my scalp, doing sweet delicious things to my body. His hands moved from my hair to cup my neck and he rubbed it sensually, his thumb massaging the hollow in my throat.“Kiss my lips, Alex.” I said to him in the most sensual voice I could come up with and he smiled sweetly at me, his brown eyes piercing mine with desire filled in them.He leaned in slowly, placing his lips softly against mine in a tease. I love it when he teases me like this, because it always made me mad with raw need. Unable to take the tension any longer, I placed my hand on his and lowered it to my breast so that he would feel its weight. As he was about to caress my nipples, someone snapped their fingers at me, distracting my thoughts and bringing me back to my senses. My eyes cleared up immediately and I blinked at my friend, Mia, as she stared directly at me.“Were you day-dreaming again?” She aske
Melissa“What!” I exclaimed, unable to believe my ears after hearing the news my father just broke to me. “What do you mean you will be getting married to the Luna of Moonriver pack?”“It is my duty as the alpha, Melissa.” He answered, turning to walk round his large office. I watched him go over to the cabinet and waited whike he poured for himself a glass of strong scotch, one of those hard drinks that he had warned me to stay away from.“Your duty as the alpha should not include a second marriage.” I protested, walking forward to meet him as he lifted the short round glass to his mouth. “Was it the elders who suggested such a ridiculous thing to you?”“The words of the elders are not ridiculous, Melissa.” He snapped sternly at me and I winced at his words. “I made the decision as the alpha after weighing the pros and cons.”“What pros and cons?” I demanded angrily, pouring out my anger on him. “What could you possibly achieve from marrying another she-wolf after your late wife?”He
MelissaI was moody throughout the party as I watched my father connect with the Luna, whose name I learnt afterwards to be Ciara. Ciara, the name that was befitted a princess and from her looks and aura, she did look like one.I watched with the other guests in the hall as the demolition of the walls separating Redmoon and Moonriver was shown in the television, was forced to smile when they all clapped their hands with joy, whispering among themselves about how good the merge was. I watched Ciara and her daughter as they got acquainted with the pack members and also had to smile politely at them when they tried talking to me. I watched and observed it all, until I could not contain it any longer. To be sure my father no longer needed me, I took an excuse from him and sneaked into the dark garden, glad to finally have a moment of peace to myself.Alone, I thought of my mother and how she would feel, knowing fully well that someone was taking her place in my father’s life. I thought ab
Melissa.Alan was standing before me.Alan, who I met last night and who had stirred different things inside me that I didn’t know existed. Alan, whose single touch had sent shivers down my body. Alan, who I couldn’t stop thinking and dreaming about last night was here and he looked perfect in his blue robe as he watched me.And he is my stepbrother? I asked myself, almost screaming loudly inside my head. Of all people that could be my stepbrother, why him?“What are you doing here?” I blurted out immediately when I couldn’t contain my shock any longer. When he lifted an eyebrow and made to come forward, I shook my head, hating myself for sounding stupid.“What?” He asked, a smile creeping up on the side of his lips. “What did you say?”“I asked why you are here.” I repeated, trying my best not to look at his beautiful face, even though that was the only thing I had thought about throughout the night.“Apparently, I am going to be living here.” He replied, amusement in his voice.“Why
Melissa“No.” I whispered softly to myself. There was no way on earth that the moongoddess would do this to me after so many years of waiting. There was no way Alan, my stepbrother, would be my mate.Still looking at Alan and his raised hand, I turned away again, not moving an inch from the spot. As I stood quietly, I noticed footsteps behind me and from the excited giggles from Lia, I was definitely sure it was Alan coming towards me.Closing my eyes and sighing in distress, I took to my heels, ignoring the surprised stares everyone threw at me. At the entrance of the school, no one, not even the security personnel spoke to me as I ran out of the gates. I was the alpha’s daughter afterall, and the alpha was the only one allowed to scold me.I ran as fast as my legs could carry me through the pack houses, until I was close to the woods, away from where living creatures occupied.“Where are we headed, Melissa?” Lia asked, but I shook my head, still running.“We are not heading anywhere
