After convincing Zachary to allow me to move freely outside the house, I walked into the cell where Freya and Alan were supposedly kept. I froze at once after seeing the pack and mansion warriors occupying different prison houses, with Marcus being one of them. The guards all stood up from the floor they were sitting on and bowed their heads in respect when they saw me, their simple gesture forcing me to bow back.

“What the hell happened?” I asked, looking at Marcus alone as he walked closer to stand in front of me. Even though the railings demarcated him from me, I could still see his injured face properly.

“Zachary has lost his mind, Melissa.” He spoke, using his hand to massage his swollen lips. “He came here with rogues and disrupted the coronation process.”
