There was no other way to deal with Zachary being Melissa’s mate than to destroy him, because after what I saw yesterday, I already knew I did not stand a chance against him in combat.

He was a lycan. I kept reminding myself even while driving to the warrior recruitment event alpha Alexander had ordered me to attend. Memories from my days at school came flooding my mind and I began to understand why Zachary had lived a very mysterious life back then. He had no friends, no family and always seemed to disappear during the night of the full moon. No one had ever seen him shift into his wolf, or even seen him threaten anyone with his wolf abilities, which made everyone in school give him his space. He used to be a lone wolf who didn’t know how to live pack life and thinking about it now, I finally understood why he had lived that way.

It was because he was a lycan alpha wolf and needed to hide his identity.

“So, I have to destroy him.” I whispered even though I
