Chapter 24

Veronica’s POV

The morning light made me open my eyes slightly, as I awakened from my slumber my hand fell to the other side of the bed. The feeling of the empty side next to me made me sit up. The night before flooded my mind, could it have been a dream? It felt all so real, the warm embrace of Logan, holding me so soft and comforting. The feeling that we shared in that moment.

I rubbed my eyes, removing the sleep from them. The feeling of him holding me still felt so real, the feeling of being cared for and the feeling of feeling wanted. I scanned the room, the sense of emptiness settled over me.

Logan was gone.

A sigh of disappointment filled the air. Then I spotted a neatly folded piece of paper lying on the bedside table. With hesitation I reached out and unfolded it. I never saw his handwriting before, it was neat. Each stroke, written delicately.
