Chapter 30

Veronica’s POV

My voice was cracking as I whispered, my desperate plea was left with the deafening silence.The cold metal of the chains started to eat into my wrists. This was starting to feel like a horrible nightmare that I just couldn’t seem to wake up from. I knew there was no use in hoping for a miracle. I wanted, needed to get out of here.

Closing my eyes, I focused on steadying my breaths. Now wasn't the time to let my fears take over. I had to think clearly, to find a way out. Marcus and Shia wouldn’t be gone for too long, I didn’t want to think about what they might do to me. If they would go against Logan to kidnap me, who knows what they would actually do to me when given the opportunity.

Taking in the surroundings once more, searching for anything that I could use. The room was empty, only a little flickering lightbulb. But, in the distance, in one of the corners was a rusty old nail. It wasn’t much, but it will have to do.
