Chapter 23

Veronica’s POV

I made my way to the kitchen to make myself a cup of tea. After the long and tedious day, I was longing for something hot. My steps were light against the floorboards, the moon light shone through the curtains. As I reached the coffee pot, my gaze turned to the window overlooking a porch.

Logan. There he sat. I noticed he had a troubled look on his face. A sense of concern tugged at my heartstrings, despite the fear and worry, I couldn’t shake the feeling to go and comfort him. Without hesitation I made a cup of coffee, the smell of freshly made coffee filled the air. Clutching the cups in my hands, I made my way out to the porch.

I approached softly. Logan glanced up, I could see the surprise on his face, he then offered me a faint smile, “Hi.” Handing him his cup, our fingers touched slightly. “Thank you.” I didn’t say a word as I found a spot next to him. There was a big gap between us, I didn’t want to intrude in his alone time, but the sight before us was too beaut
