Chapter 27

Veronica’s POV

Waking up I futtered my eyes to the soft light filtering through the curtains. Scanning the room, I noticed that Logan wasn’t next to me anymore. I sighed, turning onto my back, I stared at the ceiling. A strange feeling of emptiness started to consume me. His absence made my heart fill with sadness. I was always so used to waking up alone, but this morning was different. I felt different.

I lingered in the bed for a few more moments, before gathering the willingness to get up. Today was another day that I had to meet with Grace to continue my lessons. She had been helping me so much to help me refine my manners and present myself better. Though it hasn’t been easy, I was not willing to give up. I had to continue and be the true lady I have to be.
