I ignored him as he blurted those words, my face buried in my palm
The whole class was left confused, murmuring among themselves as they seemed to try understanding what Jaden meant by what he said. “Silent!” Leo shunned, and there was silence. I raised my head and watched as he walked over to Jaden with his left hand in his pocket, those muscular arms tugging with veins. “If you disturb my class, I will send you out of my class, and you will fail the exams. Do you know what it means? You will be repeating this class every semester, and I will keep on making sure you don't pass!” Leo seethed at Jaden, who didn't seem to be moved by his threat. “It seems you already hate me, huh? Why?” He snickered, “Everyone here is curious to know why you are already picking on me. I am also curious.” “I will do the same to any other student who disrespects my presense in the class.” Leo snapped and walked back to the front. Jaden nudged me and whispered. “We were both talking, yet he decided to threaten only me. Are you both dating already? That is sweet. So tell me, did he deflower you that night?” “Leave my class! And you are banned from my lesson for one week!” Leo voice cut through and Jaden's eyes narrowed as he turned his gaze to him. “Take it easy, buddy. I was just asking her for a pen.” “Leave or I will drag you out!” Leo warned, and Jaden nodded. He had a sly smile as he walked to the door but stopped and faced the whole class. “You all watch out for the news that will trend in the school portal soon.” He smirked, winking at me before stepping out. I closed my eyes, my heart pounding hard and fast while I tried to calm my nerves. I knew what he meant. He would be doing something terrible soon. Maybe posting my nudes, I don't know. But if he had wanted to forgive me, Leo just made it impossible. Everybody finally introduced themselves by name, and it got to my turn. “Tell me your name, and you can also let me know the name of your partner I just sent out.” Leo said casually, and I frowned. “He is not my partner!” I blurted as I stood up, avoiding his gaze. “My name is Lena.” “What about your boyfriend I sent out? Tell me his name!” He snapped, and I grimaced, feeling irritated, but he showed no concern. Why will he call Jaden my boyfriend? “I don't know him.” I blurted, and he scoffed and looked away from me. “See you guys tomorrow when I will be having my first lesson with you.” He concluded and walked out. Leo's POV What the heck was this coincidence? Is this a kind of trick or what? Why was she in the class I was teaching? Why the hell do I have to meet her again? She was the last person I wanted to see, yet somehow she turned up as my student after what happened between us that night. And worst of all, Jaden was also in the same class, and he clearly recognized me. My life had never been so complicated. As I walked into the classroom and saw Diane sitting right there among other students, my heart had fluttered and my breath hitched. I wished it was hallucinations, hoping it would end up not being real, but hell nah, the young girl I had a one night stand with was back to my life and my heart seemed to be messing up right now. It was supposed to be a common sex to ease my tension, but when I saw her, I realized it was something different—one I can't explain. As a member of a dangerous Mafia organization, I thought I had shut away every kind of soft feelings for anyone. So why am I somehow excited to see her again? My mind flashed back to everything that happened that night and I could feel the excitement rushed through me again. When she bumped into me and stained my shirt with wine in that club, I was angry and pissed but the moment she looked up, I instantly got lost in her pretty but sad eyes. My anger had faded so quick and the way she innocently tried cleaning my shirt, apologizing like I would beat her up, really amused me. I dismissed her, yet she still came back to sit and drink with me. I pretended to be annoyed at first, but it was only for a minute, and the next moment I was enjoying her company. She stole a kiss from me, and I couldn't push her away. I can’t remember the last time I had a kiss, maybe six years ago when my life was still normal till I lost everyone I loved and ended up as one of the most feared and heartless in the Mafia Organization. I wonder how she was able to make me lose myself. I really can't believe we ended up in the same bed like lovers and the experience wasn't like other ones I did with sex workers. It was very different, stuck in my head, but I know it was never love. I could never fall in love. Whatever I might have said to her on bed that night was all lies, and I hope she doesn’t believe me because she is nothing to me. As I got to my office, I saw Jaden standing at the door with his hands folded against his chest. “What are you here for?” I asked, and he smiled. “Because you heard me threaten Diane, you decided to apply as a teacher here to save her. How long has my girlfriend been hooking up with you?” He questioned in a harsh tone as if I were his younger brother. I have heard he has no morals or respect because of his father, but he has no idea who I am. “I have no business with you or your girlfriend. Now move yourself away from my door. “So you are not here to protect her?” He squinted at me, dipping his hand in his pocket and bringing out another phone. “You are talking.” I scoffed, and he displayed his phone screen to me, swiping and showing me Diane’s naked pics and videos. “I am going to post all that. And you know the best one…” He smirked and showed me a picture of me and Diane in that club. “I never knew this would be so important.” He said in a threatening tone. “I wasn’t a teacher before that. I never knew she was a student here, and besides, she offered herself to me. Whatever you do to Diane has nothing to do with me. I don’t care a bit about her!” I scoffed, and Jaden snickered, looking over my shoulder. “You heard that clearly, right?” He chuckled, and I turned sharply to see Diane behind me, tears glittering in her eyes.Diane's POV I don’t know why it hurt me so much. My legs trembled, and I fought hard to hold back my tears. His words were like rock slamming me in the chest. Even when he turned and saw me behind him, his countenance didn’t change. There was nothing to show I meant anything to him, just as he had told Jaden. He doesn't care about me, and realizing it was so heartbreaking. Why had I thought he came here for me? He didn't even know this was the school I was attending. “What are you also doing here? Why are you both coming to my office? I can't remember asking to meet any of you!” He snapped, his brows furrowed. “We will be leaving. Sorry,” Jaden smirked, striding toward me. “Let's go, baby. You heard what he just said.” He said to me with a smug smile and tried to grab my hand, but I backed away. “Leave me alone, and don’t you ever call me baby.” I bawled, pain and fury swelling inside my chest. I had been so excited to see Leo, but he was no better than Jaden. Both made me
Jaden burst into laughter. “What made you change your mind? I thought love had blinded you, and you were ready to sacrifice everything for that gigolo.” I clenched my fists, my jaw tightening as I fought back my tears. “Jaden, we have nothing else to talk about. When we get to school tomorrow, you tell me what I should say and everything you want me to do.” My voice shook but I swallowed hard, forcing myself to stay composed. It was so torturing seeing myself doing this, like I was digging my own grave. Every word I spoke felt like a betrayal—not just to Leo, but also to myself. My heart ached, knowing exactly what would happen to leo. He would go to jail and his entire life and career would be ruined because of me. I felt so bad. It was as if I was hurting myself. I heard Jaden chuckle before he continued. “We are doing everything right now because by morning you might change your mind. Listen. As soon as we end this call, I will send you the write up of what you will have to sa
My mind flashed to Leo—was he the one who did this? The thought lingered, but I shook it off. He won't go that far for me, and it doesn't even look possible since he was just a teacher. Maybe it was someone else, a new protector sent by fate. Either way, whoever saved me from Jaden’s wrath, I owed them everything. I sat beside Jaden, and he did spare me a glance. His face was flushed with humiliation, his fists clenched so tightly it seemed like he was ready to kill someone. “Good morning.” I greeted him with a sarcastic tone. His head snapped toward me, eyes blazing with fury, as if he might breathe fire any second. “What the hell is the greeting for, bitch?” “Why are you so aggressive? It was just a greeting.” I smirked watching his jaw tighten. He looked like he wanted to strangle me dead at that moment. “I refuse to believe they were just random robbers! Stop playing innocent as if you don't know what you sent them to do!” He seethed, wincing as his head ached a bit. I f
Leo's POV A knock sounded at my door just as Diane left and as I got to the door, a young woman was standing there. I recognized her as a teacher with the attire she wore, but I couldn't help noticing how her skirt was pulled up revealing most of her thighs. My eyes narrowed as I took her in, unsure why she was here. "Who was that girl?" she asked, her brow deeply furrowed as she tucked a strand of brown hair behind her ear. I caught the jealousy in her tone and couldn't understand why. She bit her lower lip, swallowing hard and frowning deep as if she just saw something in my eyes that made her sad. “Can you at least let me in first?” She asked, placing her hands on her waist. I sighed, scanning her with my eyes before stepping aside for her to enter. Even though we were meeting this close for the first time, I already felt uncomfortable around her. She was undeniably beautiful—tall with porcelain skin and piercing velvet-brown eyes—but something about her put me off. Maybe the
Diane's POV My joy knew no bounds. I wasn’t sure if he truly meant it when he said he had forgiven me and doesnt hate me since his eyes held no emotion, but excitement still bubbled within me. As I entered the class, I noticed my request to be moved to the front row away from Jaden had been accepted. Today was already shaping up to be better than I expected. Avoiding Jaden’s glare, I made my way to my new seat in the left corner, sighing in relief as I pulled out a novel to read. I hadn’t even made it past the first line before a teacher walked in. I recognized her immediately—our computer science teacher. “Did we have her now?” I muttered under my breath, flipping through my timetable to check, but before I could find the answer, she was standing right in front of me with a bright smile. “Are you Diane?” she asked. I nodded, returning the smile. “Oh, I see. Follow me to my office; I have good news for you,” she said, flashing her white teeth as she extended her hand toward me
Do you know Helen?” He asked, and my heart skipped a beat; a silent gasp slipping from my lips before I could stop it. “She is my teacher. Um... Computer science teacher. What about her?” I asked, trying to keep my tone casual. He scoffed and glanced at me. “She hates you because she thinks we are secretly dating or something like that.” I feigned shock, covering my mouth with my palm. “What? Why would she think such a thing?” “If she ever threatens you, let me know and I will make sure—” He stopped abruptly, his feet slamming the brake pulling the car to a screeching stop that shook. I panicked, unsure why he did that but then I saw his eyes locked on my wrist. I followed his gaze and realized he was seeing the faint red marks left by the rope Helen had used to tie me. “That mark wasn't there when we last met! Who did that to you?” His voice was a low growl, his expression darkening as he took my hand tracing the lines with his finger. “No no, no... it was a game. We…I…” My
I was about to sink into my chair when a knock at the door made me curse under my breath. Who the hell was it now? Dragging myself up, I swung the door open—and there she was. Helen. Standing on my doorstep like she belonged there. "What the fuck?" I muttered. "I was going to wait until you came out," she said breathlessly, her eyes glistening with something between lust and desperation. "Leo, you have no idea how much I want you. No one has ever made me feel this way. I just... I can’t stop thinking about you." I exhaled, running a hand through my hair. "You can come in." Her brown eyes lit up, a grin spreading across her face as she tucked a strand of blonde hair behind her ear. "Are you serious?" she whispered, as if she couldn’t believe it. "Yes," I forced a smile. "You’ve never smiled at me before..." she squeaked, stepping inside, her excitement almost childlike. I leaned against my desk, watching her carefully. "I’ve been thinking... Maybe I’ve been fighting myself. May
Leo's POV The noise was low and shuffled. I had to place my ears close enough to the door to hear it. When I twisted the doorknob, it was locked from the inside, which meant someone or a group of people was inside. I had thought of walking away since school had closed, and I really don't want to get involved with anything. Whatever made them lock themselves in there must be a secret, and I already have a lot to be worried about. Just a few steps away from the door, and I felt a weird heaviness in my chest. I suddenly couldn't leave as if someone important to me was in danger in there. Without any more hesitation, I moved back, wanting to have just a peek. I took out the two tiny steels from my pocket, pushed them into the holes, and was able to unlock the door. As I pushed the door open, I couldn't believe my eyes. The two guys jumped away from her at the sound of the door and one was Jaden, the other, same student Diane had told me was her new boyfriend. Diane was lying helpless
Just when I thought everything was well planned out, it came crashing and turning all sour. Someone was behind the shadows ruining my mission just so I wouldn’t gain my freedom. My chest rumbled, and rage boiled inside me like a raging fire. I could feel my whole body burning, veins red and sprouting as I clenched my teeth to control myself. The last time I felt this way was when my father was killed, and now it was back. That monster that turned me into a villain, killing every trace of empathy inside me. My eyes moved to the gate where Diane had rushed in, and I felt like a knife was stabbed to my chest. All I wanted was to keep it a secret and finish this mission; then we would live that life I dreamed of. But someone from my organization decided to destroy it all. “Just pray I don’t get you!” I bellowed, entering the car and zooming off to the location Sofia had sent to me. As I got close, I found out it was her house. She called me as soon as the gate was opened for me
“No, I don’t.” I snapped, “Tell me what is going on! What did she read in those files that made her say what she said? Apart from you being a mafia member, what else is the reason she has to put you in jail?! What are you not telling me?!”“Diane, the mistake we made is allowing those files to get to her hand. Now I have to find a way to get it without any negotiation because I don’t think she will offer any reasonable one.”“Why do you think so? She is our friend!” I retorted, but he let out an empty chuckle.“She is not our friend. Even if she is, now she has gone through that document, it is all over.”“What did she read in it?” I asked. “Tell me!”He paused, looking me in the eyes, filled with different emotions I couldn’t understand. He tried saying something but clamped his lips shut, shaking his head. “I can’t tell you.” He breathed, and just then his phone beeped. He checked and quickly distanced himself from me.Leo’s POVI really wonder where I went wrong in my plan. Diane's POV It was like cold water was splashed all over my body, my blood running cold as I stared at him hoping he would tell me it was a prank or some sort of funny joke just to tease me.But none of that happened. I watched him collapse on the chair there, his eyes shimmering with anxiety and the veins in his arms and neck sprouting harshly.I moved closer and picked up the bag, turning it upside down, allowing everything in it to pour out. Just a few of my books, the pistol, and the cellphone, but that document wasn’t there. I was sure it was there when I left for Sofia's place. Why did I not check before leaving?I slept off, and once I woke, I ran out without telling her just so I wouldn’t have to give her the explanation she demanded. My mind didn’t think of rechecking my bag. But why would she sneak into the room and take this?“Who took it?” Leo asked as those fiery eyes landed on me.“I really don’t know, but… I can only suspect Sofia.”“Were you sleeping? How did you allo
I entered a taxi and went back home.“Go to a forest and hide all you took from this house that could implicate me. For now, I am a suspect, and the cops can barge in anytime!” I typed and sent it to my men. They weren’t among those I suspect because none of them knows of the safe lock inside my office, so they aren’t the ones who gave this information to the cops. I took a quick bath and dressed up in casual wear, covering my face with a cap before heading out through the back door.I had a feeling someone was keeping an eye on me, so I had to sneak out secretly to avoid being followed since I was heading to Diane’s house. I don’t want any of this to be linked with her. She is just too innocent to be involved in this even though I had made her do a lot for me today. She hadn’t called me yet or sent any text. I don’t expect any because she would be really angry at me. That’s if it hadn’t turned to hatred because she must have seen what those files contained.I was just lucky she didn’
Imagine the world knowing about my relationship with my teacher, who turned out to be a mafia gang. I would be an accomplice to whatever evil he had committed.“I have to make a call to my father then.” She sighed, giving me a suspicious look. “But you have to tell me everything! No lies and secrets between us!”I nodded hard as I looked ahead, and they were almost done with the car in front of us.She made the call, her voice low as she discussed it with her father. My heart was racing, and I was panting, praying silently for God to save me the last time.“Lower your head and lie low. They must not see you…” She mouthed to me, and I did as she said immediately. It worked. I heard someone telling the cops to allow us to pass after the window was rolled down and they saw her. Whoever her father was, he must be a powerful man to make them give an exception to her.We drove out and kept a distance away before I poked out my head, exhaling heavily.“Thank you so much….” I sniffed, hugging
Diane's POV I couldn’t believe my eyes as I watched the cops put the handcuff around his wrist, confusion written all over his face, but he didn’t struggle or try to contest. My eyes wandered around, and I could see the bewildered look on everyone’s face as they stared at him, unsure if they could possibly believe he was a killer.Leo’s eyes fell on me at that moment, and I could see sadness and disbelief in there. It was as if someone betrayed and sold him out.My heart squeezed tight, and every part of me froze as I sniffed the tears that welled up in my eyes. It was like slow motion as Leo was taken away, disappearing from my eyes just after he had promised he wouldn't be caught. How did they trace it to him? Didn’t he assure me that all evidence was cleared? And also, he told me he didn’t kill Jaden’s father, so why are they accusing him of that too?He was poisoned. How could he possibly kill someone? But then I remembered Helen was dead too, so there was no one to confess to hi
“Sorry, I had to lie because someone might be listening to us, and you know how nosy they can be.”“Oh, maybe I should return to class and show him the question some other time since you both are busy together.” She grinned, but Diane shook her head.“No no no…. We aren’t doing anything just casual conversation. Let’s check the math problem together, and he can teach us both.”“No.” Sofia adamantly refused. “I feel you’re just trying to be nice. Enjoy your time with him. After all, I can ask him the question when he comes to teach us in the afternoon.”She waved with a wide smile, walking out hastily.I just stood there with my hands in my pockets. She gave me a wink before leaving, but I didn’t even act like I saw it. The only thing on my mind was how I would take her to my boss. She has no idea the pain and torture she was going to face later in life. She may be really falling for me, but soon she would realize how far she should have run away and left the country.“That girl is so
“You really love Leo and couldn’t bear betraying him. I will have to send you to hell so you wait for him. Don’t worry; in just less than an hour, he will be there with you…” Chan laughed evilly, and my body paralyzed with horror.I tried to talk. To beg for my life, but my lips could only move with no word coming out. The sound of the gun getting cocked made my throat hitch as my life flashed in front of me.“I won’t betray…you…Please don’t…”“That is a lie. And besides, you know a lot of my secrets. Keeping you is a risk!”That was the last thing I heard before a gunshot. But I wasn’t dead. I didn’t feel any bullet; instead, someone fell dead. Then the sound came again and again from an angle I couldn’t tell because I was struck with terror at these sounds. All I knew was that someone well trained had appeared from inside this house and killed these men. Jaden’s father was the last. He couldn’t even fire two shots before he was brought down. From a corner, a young woman I had never
“He won’t agree. I love him, but he doesn’t love me the same way.” I sighed, feeling the heaviness in my heart.“Then find a fucking way! He still wants you to be his girlfriend as a shield over his secret romance with Diane, so why not use a breakup to threaten him? Tell him to visit you or you will end it all!” He snapped at me, and I swallowed hard, pondering if I should do this. With Jaden’s father's tone, I could swear he would kill Leo if he got hold of him.“Leo didn’t kill your son. That is the last thing he can do. He may look cold and mean, but he isn’t so bad as to gun them down as you claimed. Even if he probably did, the evidence will show up soon. Why not allow the cops to…”“I just sent you your half payment for the job. When you’re done, you won’t only be paid the rest but also become the school proprietor. I know how much you wanted that position.” He said, and it was like he snapped my mouth shut as I couldn’t talk anymore and checked my phone.I screamed as I saw a
