My eyes flew open as water was sprinkled on my face, jolting me back to consciousness.
I have no idea how long I had passed out, but the moment I opened my eyes, I realized I was in a room I couldn't recognize. I could still hear the noise of students outside, which showed I was still in the school. As I shook my head and tried to wipe the water off my face, I realized my two hands couldn't move. It was tied behind me as I sat on the chair. Not even my legs were free. “Sorry, I had to tie you up, but it is the only way to make things go faster and easier.” The voice of Helen made me shiver. I quickly recalled what had happened earlier. She took me out of class to show me something she said was good news. Then I was attacked from behind. How did I end up here? So it was her plan to lure me out of the classroom. “Miss Helen, what is going on?” I demanded in shock and confusion, raising my head to look at her, so I would be sure she was really the one. She stood tall in front of me, her hands on her waist as those angry and jealous eyes peered at me. “What is your relationship with Leo? And don't you dare tell me nothing!” She snapped, her tone sharp and envious. I blinked, confused. “What are you talking about? I don't…" My words hung in my throat as she gave me a knock on the head. “Don't answer my question with questions! When did you meet Leo, and what went on between you both?” She snarled, but I couldn't reply, as the hit still aches so bad. I can't even rub it to ease up the pain. “I know everything, but I want to hear it from you!” She added, grabbing a fistful of my hair and forcing me to look up at her face. “You are making a mistake.” I managed to say, and she let out a deep grunt. “Let me explain something to you!” She sighed and stood upright. “I am in love with Leo. For the first time in my life, a man had captured my heart at first sight, and guess what? I am already obsessed! He is the man I am ready to sacrifice anything for.” “I don't know why you're telling me all this.” I seethed, struggling to free myself. “I saw you leave his office with a smile all over your face. Jaden also told me about you being with him in that club weeks ago. Diane, he is your teacher. Why do you want to take this risk?” She asked, taking a deep breath. “What risk? We aren't dating or anything.” I retorted, and she nodded. “He fucking likes you. I don't know how, but I saw his eyes twinkle at the mention of you. Diane, you are like an obstacle to me. He won't notice me as long as you're alive. You're ruining everything.” She hissed, rubbing her temple. “What are you insinuating?” I whispered, dreading pooling in my stomach. “I want you to get a boyfriend. I don't care if it's real or fake, but find a guy to date so he sees that you don't care about him. He should see clearly that there is no chance for him in your life.” She instructed in a commanding tone as if I was her slave. “And why will you force me into…” “Do as I say if you still want to enjoy your stay in this school. I can help you get rid of every bully, including Jaden. Just do as I say, okay? You won't ever want to be my enemy. Trust me.” She added with a sinister smile before pulling out a knife from her pocket and cutting off the ropes. She helped me up. “Nobody should know about what happened here. I trust you to make the right decision.” She led me down, and just as we got to the class, the school bell rang for closure. I picked up my bags and hurried home, everything playing like an illusion in my head. It was hard to understand; I was just kidnapped in school by my own teacher and then warned to stay away from Leo. What the heck? Leo doesn't even like me, and now I am already gathering enemies who won't mind killing me to have him. I sighed and rubbed my face as the thought of everything that happened in that room replayed in my head. There were cameras, but Helen didn't care, which only means she had it all sorted out. First was Jaden, now Helen. I have no idea what more would be added to the list. There would be nobody to save me and I may end up losing my life for a strange man that doesn't love me. Just as I strode, getting closer to my house, I caught a glimpse of a car following me. I arched my brows, fear creeping inside me as I braced up to run. I increased my pace, and the car increased also. My heart began to pound harder, sweat forming on my face. I had never felt so insecure, and it all started after meeting Leo. It was all my fault to keep all this a secret from my parents. My phone beeped at that moment as I brought it out to call the emergency line. It was a text from an unsaved number. “No need to panic; it is me, Leo. May I drive you home?” I read and heaved in relief, stopping in my tracks and turning to see Leo out of the car, leaning on the door. I walked back with a beam on my face while he had a curious look. “Why are you walking home? Isn't it too harsh?” He asked, and I gave him a long gaze. “My house isn't far from here, and I love having a walk back home. It is refreshing to me and it's an exercise.” I smiled again, my heart foolishly racing as I was close to him. He opened the passenger seat for me, and I entered. “I was kinda worried when I sent someone to check on you in the classroom shortly after you left my office, but you were not there.” His eyes narrowed as he ignited the car. “I went to the garden. Anyways, I didn't know you had a car.” I chuckled, and his lips curled into a little smile. “There are a lot of things you don't know about me, and I won't want you to know them. Do you know Helen?” He asked, and my heart skipped a beat; a little gasp slipped from my lips as I heard the question. “She is my teacher. Um... Computer science teacher. What about her?” I asked, trying to keep my tone smooth. “She hates you because she thinks we are dating secretly.” He scoffed, and I acted shocked, covering my mouth. “What? Why would she think such a thing?” “If she ever threatens you, let me know. I will make sure…” His voice paused, and the car came to a screeching halt. His eyes had landed on my wrists, and he seemed to have seen the red stripes of that rope Helen used to tie my hands. “Who did that to you?” He asked with a deep growl, those eyes growing darker as he took my hand and stared into the lines. “No no, no... it was a game. We…I…” My voice was stuttering. Helen had warned me not to tell anyone and I am scared she would hurt me. “If you don't want to tell me the truth, then it's fine.” He shrugged. “Why do you suddenly care? You said I meant nothing to you, remember?” He heaved a deep breath. “Yes, I remember perfectly; that is why I have to make sure you aren't hurt by people like Helen, who think we are having any secret relationship. I don't know who is spreading the lies that we are dating.” He hissed and looked away. “My house is that black gate ahead. You can stop here; I don't want my parents to see…” “I understand.” He cut me off as he parked at the roadside. “You didn't tell me why you picked me up.” I asked, squinting my eyes at him. “Maybe because I was thinking Helen would come to you. That woman is so obsessed with me and thinks you're an obstacle.” He replied, gritting his teeth. “I hope she is not the one that did that thing on your wrist.” “She is not the one.” I lied, swallowing hard. “Alright.” He sighed, and I could notice his eyes dim a bit when I opened the car. “My crush in class finally gave me a green light, so I will be having a boyfriend real soon. That will surely clear the air about the rumors of us dating. Helen won't have to attack me again.” I grinned, but his face was grim. “As long as he is better than that dickhead Jaden.” He shrugged, and I nodded. “For sure. Goodbye!” I bade, and he only nodded, those eyes losing every glitter. I don't know why he looked so sad. I think it is all in my head. He would be overwhelmed with happiness to hear I would have a boyfriend and leave him alone. That must be what he always wanted. If only he knew I was forced by Helen, and it was so painful to think of it. I am so in love with him, and I really wish we had met in a different place, as different people and not teacher and student. I brought out my phone, hoping to see any message from him, but none. He was offline. My head turned, and the car was gone. He didn't even wait to watch me enter. I am sure he would be heading to the club to celebrate my departure from his life. I reached home and made sure to wear a long-sleeve top and trousers to cover the red stripes of that rope because I won't want to answer questions again. The day went by fast, and soon I was already lying on my bed fighting with my body to sleep, but it couldn't come. My hand was in my hand, and I was staring at Leo's message wall, hoping he would text me. I had sent him a lot of messages, asking how he was and if we could chat. I even added some math questions just so he would reply, but nothing happened. Worst of all, he didn't even view the message while online. I slept off, woke up the next day, and the first thing I did was rush and check my phone. Maybe he had replied when I dozed off, but disappointment slapped me in the face as I saw it was still the same. He didn't open my messages. I felt like crying.Diane's POV I had struggled to tell my parents everything, but I just couldn't. As we ate breakfast together in the dining room this morning, I tried again, but I would look into their eyes and see it was all filled with delight and peace. I just couldn't say anything, not wanting to ruin it all.I listened to them talk about their gradual success in their political ambition; my heart felt like it was squeezed tight, and I fought my tears from falling, knowing soon enough it would all be destroyed by the same guy they had warned me to stay away from.It would really hit them like a bomb when Jaden leaked my nudes tape and I ended up bringing shame to my family name. It hurts more that I just lost on both sides because he has also used me to bring down Leo with that rape allegation. My heart was racing, and a bead of sweat formed on my forehead as I headed to the classroom. Every eye looking at me shook me with anxiety as I wondered if they had seen it all on the school web. Jaden
“Leo, were you among the robbers? You were the one who got rid of that video from Jaden?” I asked breathlessly as tears fell from my eyes.“I wish I could just hate you. I really don't know what is wrong with me.” He hissed and walked back to his chair and sat, crossing his legs on the table and looking up at me with a grim expression.“I am really sorry I did that video. He made me do it with the promise of not releasing those naked videos of mine. My parents are beginning their political careers, and our future relies on it. I was really scared. It will ruin them if…”“I believe you.” He breathed. “It sucks, but I fucking believe everything you say. Now clean those tears and leave.”"Thank you so much! We will see after school!" I squeaked before scurrying out, grinning from ear to ear.He just saved me again and now I don't think I can control it anymore. I am in love.Leo's POVA knock came on my door just immediately Diane left and as I got to the door, a young woman was standing
Diane's POVMy joy knew no bounds.I have no idea if he meant it, saying he had forgiven me because his eyes showed no emotions, but I just felt so excited. As I entered the class, I saw that my request to be placed in the front row had been accepted.Today just seemed to be much better than I thought. I avoided Jaden's glare as I made my way to my new seat in the left corner. I sighed in relief, taking out a novel to read.I hadn't read one full line before a teacher walked in. I could recognize her as our computer science teacher.“Did we have her now?” I asked myself as I tried checking the timetable, but she walked up to me with a smile.“Are you Diane?” She asked, and I nodded, smiling back.“Oh, I see. Follow me to my office; I have good news for you.” She displayed her white set of teeth, offering her hand to me.Wow.It felt so good. What other blessing does God have for me today?“Oh, I am really curious.” I beamed.“Yeah, I have to show you this.” She said, and we both walke

Shit! I cursed under my breath as I headed to the door.I opened it, and there she was, sitting on the floor at the doorstep.“What the fuck!”“I was going to wait till you ever came out. Leo, you have no idea how much I want you. No one has ever made me go crazy, and I just can’t get you out of my mind.” She mumbled as she stood to her feet, looking at me with wet eyes filled with lust and affection. “You can come in.” I breathed, and her brown eyes twinkled, a huge smile spreading across her face as she tucked her blonde hair and gave me a long look.“Are you for real?”“Yes.” I smiled, and she was overwhelmed.“You had never smiled at me…” she squeaked as she entered my office, and just before she could fully turn to me, I gripped her neck and pinned her to the wall, my eyes piercing at her.“Do you want it here or in your office?” I whispered, nibbling her earlobe.“I can’t hold on till we get there.” She gasped as my other hand groped her left breast.“I have been thinking… May
Leo's POV The noise was low and shuffled. I had to place my ears close enough to the door to hear it. When I twisted the doorknob, it was locked from the inside, which meant someone or a group of people was inside. I had thought of walking away since school had closed, and I really don't want to get involved with anything. Whatever made them lock themselves in there must be a secret, and I already have a lot to be worried about. Just a few steps away from the door, it was like a heaviness in my chest, and I couldn't bear to walk away. It was as if someone important to me was in there. Without any more hesitation, I took out the two tiny steels from my pocket, pushed them into the holes, and was able to unlock the door. As I pushed the door open, my jaw dropped, and I couldn't believe my eyes. The two guys jumped away from her; one was Jaden, and the other was the same student Diane had told me was her new boyfriend. Diane was lying helplessly on the floor, her pants flung away
She was just at the gate as I watched like a personal bodyguard to make sure she entered safely before I drove off.“Hi, Sir. Thank you so much for today.” That was the message that popped up on my phone just immediately after I got back home.I almost slapped myself as I caught my face beaming with a wide smile. I can’t tell why her message made me feel this happy.“It is no big deal.” I typed and sent knowing fully well that this wasn’t what I wanted to tell her. My only fear of getting close to her was that she may find out about my real identity.I saw the lashing fear in her eyes when I almost killed those rapists. She was terrified just by the sight of blood and couldn’t stand it for one second. How much more would she be scared of me when she found out that I was a bloody killer who had lost count of how many bodies he had dropped.“Have you gotten home? What do you plan to eat?” Another message from her and my lips curled. The cheeky emojis she uses at the end of every text ar
Diane looked up in surprise as the whole class drifted their attention to her.“He only helped me because I injured my toes! What are you trying to insinuate?” Diane cut in.“I am done for class today. If y'all keep being this annoying, I will cease being your teacher and take over another class.” I warned them before I took my leave. Diane's POV “It wasn't long after he left that my phone vibrated. I checked my phone, and it was a message from him.My eyes lit up and I looked around to be sure no one was peeping at my phone from behind. Excitement bubbled inside me, seeing him text for the first time. I hadn't checked the message yet but I was already giddy.*Come to my office and collect the PDF test for you all.*I read his text and exhaled, trying to control my racing heart. I don't know why he picked me to come take this, knowing I was crushing so hard for him. I don't know how my body would react with just us in his office. No matter how much I tried, my brain won't stop rem
Just when I thought everything was well planned out, it came crashing and turning all sour. Someone was behind the shadows ruining my mission just so I wouldn’t gain my freedom. My chest rumbled, and rage boiled inside me like a raging fire. I could feel my whole body burning, veins red and sprouting as I clenched my teeth to control myself. The last time I felt this way was when my father was killed, and now it was back. That monster that turned me into a villain, killing every trace of empathy inside me.My eyes moved to the gate where Diane had rushed in, and I felt like a knife was stabbed to my chest. All I wanted was to keep it a secret and finish this mission; then we would live that life I dreamed of. But someone from my organization decided to destroy it all.“Just pray I don’t get you!” I bellowed, entering the car and zooming off to the location Sofia had sent to me.As I got close, I found out it was her house. She called me as soon as the gate was opened for me.“I am gla
“No, I don’t.” I snapped, “Tell me what is going on! What did she read in those files that made her say what she said? Apart from you being a mafia member, what else is the reason she has to put you in jail?! What are you not telling me?!”“Diane, the mistake we made is allowing those files to get to her hand. Now I have to find a way to get it without any negotiation because I don’t think she will offer any reasonable one.”“Why do you think so? She is our friend!” I retorted, but he let out an empty chuckle.“She is not our friend. Even if she is, now she has gone through that document, it is all over.”“What did she read in it?” I asked. “Tell me!”He paused, looking me in the eyes, filled with different emotions I couldn’t understand. He tried saying something but clamped his lips shut, shaking his head. “I can’t tell you.” He breathed, and just then his phone beeped. He checked and quickly distanced himself from me.Leo’s POVI really wonder where I went wrong in my plan. Diane's POV It was like cold water was splashed all over my body, my blood running cold as I stared at him hoping he would tell me it was a prank or some sort of funny joke just to tease me.But none of that happened. I watched him collapse on the chair there, his eyes shimmering with anxiety and the veins in his arms and neck sprouting harshly.I moved closer and picked up the bag, turning it upside down, allowing everything in it to pour out. Just a few of my books, the pistol, and the cellphone, but that document wasn’t there. I was sure it was there when I left for Sofia's place. Why did I not check before leaving?I slept off, and once I woke, I ran out without telling her just so I wouldn’t have to give her the explanation she demanded. My mind didn’t think of rechecking my bag. But why would she sneak into the room and take this?“Who took it?” Leo asked as those fiery eyes landed on me.“I really don’t know, but… I can only suspect Sofia.”“Were you sleeping? How did you allo
I entered a taxi and went back home.“Go to a forest and hide all you took from this house that could implicate me. For now, I am a suspect, and the cops can barge in anytime!” I typed and sent it to my men. They weren’t among those I suspect because none of them knows of the safe lock inside my office, so they aren’t the ones who gave this information to the cops. I took a quick bath and dressed up in casual wear, covering my face with a cap before heading out through the back door.I had a feeling someone was keeping an eye on me, so I had to sneak out secretly to avoid being followed since I was heading to Diane’s house. I don’t want any of this to be linked with her. She is just too innocent to be involved in this even though I had made her do a lot for me today. She hadn’t called me yet or sent any text. I don’t expect any because she would be really angry at me. That’s if it hadn’t turned to hatred because she must have seen what those files contained.I was just lucky she didn’
Imagine the world knowing about my relationship with my teacher, who turned out to be a mafia gang. I would be an accomplice to whatever evil he had committed.“I have to make a call to my father then.” She sighed, giving me a suspicious look. “But you have to tell me everything! No lies and secrets between us!”I nodded hard as I looked ahead, and they were almost done with the car in front of us.She made the call, her voice low as she discussed it with her father. My heart was racing, and I was panting, praying silently for God to save me the last time.“Lower your head and lie low. They must not see you…” She mouthed to me, and I did as she said immediately. It worked. I heard someone telling the cops to allow us to pass after the window was rolled down and they saw her. Whoever her father was, he must be a powerful man to make them give an exception to her.We drove out and kept a distance away before I poked out my head, exhaling heavily.“Thank you so much….” I sniffed, hugging
Diane's POV I couldn’t believe my eyes as I watched the cops put the handcuff around his wrist, confusion written all over his face, but he didn’t struggle or try to contest. My eyes wandered around, and I could see the bewildered look on everyone’s face as they stared at him, unsure if they could possibly believe he was a killer.Leo’s eyes fell on me at that moment, and I could see sadness and disbelief in there. It was as if someone betrayed and sold him out.My heart squeezed tight, and every part of me froze as I sniffed the tears that welled up in my eyes. It was like slow motion as Leo was taken away, disappearing from my eyes just after he had promised he wouldn't be caught. How did they trace it to him? Didn’t he assure me that all evidence was cleared? And also, he told me he didn’t kill Jaden’s father, so why are they accusing him of that too?He was poisoned. How could he possibly kill someone? But then I remembered Helen was dead too, so there was no one to confess to hi
“Sorry, I had to lie because someone might be listening to us, and you know how nosy they can be.”“Oh, maybe I should return to class and show him the question some other time since you both are busy together.” She grinned, but Diane shook her head.“No no no…. We aren’t doing anything just casual conversation. Let’s check the math problem together, and he can teach us both.”“No.” Sofia adamantly refused. “I feel you’re just trying to be nice. Enjoy your time with him. After all, I can ask him the question when he comes to teach us in the afternoon.”She waved with a wide smile, walking out hastily.I just stood there with my hands in my pockets. She gave me a wink before leaving, but I didn’t even act like I saw it. The only thing on my mind was how I would take her to my boss. She has no idea the pain and torture she was going to face later in life. She may be really falling for me, but soon she would realize how far she should have run away and left the country.“That girl is so
“You really love Leo and couldn’t bear betraying him. I will have to send you to hell so you wait for him. Don’t worry; in just less than an hour, he will be there with you…” Chan laughed evilly, and my body paralyzed with horror.I tried to talk. To beg for my life, but my lips could only move with no word coming out. The sound of the gun getting cocked made my throat hitch as my life flashed in front of me.“I won’t betray…you…Please don’t…”“That is a lie. And besides, you know a lot of my secrets. Keeping you is a risk!”That was the last thing I heard before a gunshot. But I wasn’t dead. I didn’t feel any bullet; instead, someone fell dead. Then the sound came again and again from an angle I couldn’t tell because I was struck with terror at these sounds. All I knew was that someone well trained had appeared from inside this house and killed these men. Jaden’s father was the last. He couldn’t even fire two shots before he was brought down. From a corner, a young woman I had never
“He won’t agree. I love him, but he doesn’t love me the same way.” I sighed, feeling the heaviness in my heart.“Then find a fucking way! He still wants you to be his girlfriend as a shield over his secret romance with Diane, so why not use a breakup to threaten him? Tell him to visit you or you will end it all!” He snapped at me, and I swallowed hard, pondering if I should do this. With Jaden’s father's tone, I could swear he would kill Leo if he got hold of him.“Leo didn’t kill your son. That is the last thing he can do. He may look cold and mean, but he isn’t so bad as to gun them down as you claimed. Even if he probably did, the evidence will show up soon. Why not allow the cops to…”“I just sent you your half payment for the job. When you’re done, you won’t only be paid the rest but also become the school proprietor. I know how much you wanted that position.” He said, and it was like he snapped my mouth shut as I couldn’t talk anymore and checked my phone.I screamed as I saw a
