Chapter 4

“Leo… is this really you?” I gasped as my eyes blinked and I fixed my gaze on him, wondering if I was having illusions. 

How possible could this be?

I covered my mouth, my eyes getting wet in excitement as I took in his handsome appearance, waiting for him to look in my direction.

“Was he here for me?” I asked myself, feeling the heat in my cheeks as I blushed.

So I was wrong thinking he vanished after that night.

He actually came back for me.

My heart was racing, every hair on my skin rising as shudders ran through me. The joy of seeing him again was overwhelming, and those feelings I thought I had killed after that night we spent returned like a storm.

Flashbacks of that amazing night with him filled my head, and I could see them clearly like it was happening in front of me again. His deep, soothing voice when he confessed to loving me made my face beam with a smile.

My eyes wandered to other classmates, and I could see the females drooling in attraction. They were smiling sheepishly at him, feeling shy anytime he looked at them.

Leo was more than gorgeous in his sparkling white shirt and blue trousers that really made him dashing.

But he had no smile on his face, and those eyes were cold and mean. I could see a glint of irritation flashing through his eyes when he saw how the female students were lusting over him.

I sat there, my palms supporting my jaw as I focused on him with a smile that refused to leave my face. He had yet to see me since I was at the back.

“My name is Leo, and as the proprietor said, I will be taking on from the former math teacher to prepare you all for your final exam. I hope you all cope with me and make it easier for us.” His voice was the same as when I first met him in the club, raw and emotionless.

The only time he had spoken softly with emotions and compassion was when he told me he loved me after that sex. I felt that he meant the word, but he had to explain to me why he left the next day before I could wake up, leaving cash like I was a whore.

“We are happy to have you.” The class intoned, and the females had the loudest voice, calling him handsome, which made his frown deepen.

“Alright, time for you all to introduce yourself by name.” He said, and finally his eyes met mine, and I could clearly see him flinch in shock, his jaw dropping as those eyes squinted at me. He was awestruck and couldn't move, studying my face as if to be sure he was seeing the right person.

My cheeks flushed red as I blushed at his gaze that was all over me, but he looked away just immediately, maintaining the same countenance.

“I will leave him with you all so you can do the introduction so he will get to know each and every one of you.” The proprietor concluded and walked out.

“This face is so familiar. Don't tell me it's him.” Jaden leaned closer and hushed to my ears.

“Who do you think this is?” I couldn't hold back my smile as a shiver of relief rushed down my spine. 

He let out a sinister chuckle. “I think I can remember now. This is your new boyfriend from that club… I can remember those eyes perfectly. Wow, so he turned into a teacher to meet you. That's so romantic.”

“I don't think he expected to see me here. Teaching is his profession, and he got employed here. A coincidence, maybe.” I replied without looking at him as I fixed my gaze on Leo, who was now listening to each of us saying our name one after the other, starting from the front row.

“It is so sad his age didn't let him turn into a student since he wants to be around you. I hope you know how much messier your life will be if you get close to him, right? Or do I have to explain it to you?” Jaden snickered, nudging me on the shoulder.

“Who are those having discussions at the back while I am here?” Leo shot angrily, his fierce eyes flared at us. “I won't tolerate that in my class!” 

“Every other teacher does tolerate it, so I think you should try and get used to it also.” Jaden retorted as he looked straight back at Leo.

“You don't want to be the first to face my ugly side!” Leo warned, but Jaden burst into laughter. 

“It won't be the first time.” He replied and turned to me, “True, right?” 

I ignored him, burying my face in my palms as I took a heavy breath. The whole class was confused, murmuring among themselves.

“Silent!” Leo shunned, and there was silence. I watched as he walked over to Jaden with his left hand in his pocket.

“I will send you out of my class, and you will fail the exams. Do you know what it means? You will be repeating this exam every semester, and I will keep on making sure you don't pass!” Leo seethed at Jaden, who didn't seem to be moved as he scoffed.

“It seems you already hate me, huh? Why?” He snickered, “Everyone here is curious to know why you are already picking on me. I am also curious.” 

“I will do the same for any other student who disrespects me.” Leo snapped and walked back to the front.

Jaden nudged me and smirked. “We were both talking, yet he decided to threaten only me. Are you both dating already? That is sweet. So tell me, did he deflower you that night?” 

“Leave my class! And you are banned from my lesson for one week!” Leo snarled, and Jaden's eyes widened as he turned his gaze to him.

“Take it easy, buddy. I was just asking her for a pen.” 

“Leave or I will drag you out!” Leo warned, and Jaden nodded and stood up. He had a cheeky smile as he walked to the door. He then turned to the class.

“You all watch out for the news that will trend in the school portal soon.” He said aloud before stepping out.

I closed my eyes, my heart pounding hard and fast while I tried to calm my nerves. I knew what he meant. He would be doing something terrible soon. 

Maybe posting my nudes, I don't know. But if he had wanted to forgive me, Leo just made it impossible.

Everybody finally introduced themselves by name, and it got to my turn.

“Tell me your name, and you can also let me know the name of your partner I just sent out.” Leo said casually, and I frowned.

“He is not my partner!” I blurted as I stood up, avoiding his gaze. “My name is Lena.” 

“What about your boyfriend?!” He snapped, and I grimaced, feeling irritated, but he showed no concern. Why will he call Jaden my boyfriend? 

“I don't know him.” I blurted, and he scoffed and looked away from me.

“See you guys tomorrow when I will be having my first lesson with you.” He concluded and walked out. 

Leo's POV 

What the heck was this coincidence? 

Is this a kind of trick or what? Why was she in the class I was teaching? Why the hell do I have to meet her again after I had ditched her out of my life?

She was the last person I wanted to see, yet somehow she turned up as my student after what happened between us that night, and worst of all, Jaden was also in the same class, and he clearly recognized me. 

My life had never been so complicated, and I had never been so confused as today when I walked into the classroom and saw her sitting right there among other students. For a moment I regretted this job, or rather I regretted picking this school among every other option I had.

My mind flashed back to when she bumped into me and stained my shirt with wine in that club. I was berserk, but I instantly got lost in her eyes, and her beauty made my anger fade. Those pretty eyes gleamed with sadness, but it appeared so charming that I couldn’t get angry at her even when I wanted to.

The way she innocently tried cleaning my shirt, apologizing like I would beat her up, really amused me, and even as I dismissed her, she still came back to sit with me. 

I was pissed at first, but it was only for a minute, and the next moment I was enjoying her company. She kissed me, and I did nothing. I can’t remember the last time I had a kiss, maybe six years ago when my life was still normal till I lost everyone I loved and ended up in the hands of the mafias.

Diana snuck in on me, and we ended up in the same bed like lovers. It should be a common sex of sheer lust like I had done with every other whore, but no, it was very different, stuck in my head like part of my skull, but I know I can never fall in love. 

Whatever I might have said to her that night was all lies, and I hope she doesn’t believe me because right now she is nothing to me.

I have no interest in love. It is just a weakness and causes nothing but pain and regret.

As I got to my office, I saw Jaden standing at the door with his hands folded against his chest.

“What are you here for?” I asked, and he smiled. 

“Because you heard me threaten Diane, you decided to apply as a teacher here to save her. How long has my girlfriend been hooking up with you?” He questioned in a harsh tone as if I were his younger brother. I have heard he has no morals or respect because of his father, but he has no idea who I am.

“I have no business with you or your girlfriend. Now move yourself away from my door.

“So you are not here to protect her?” He squinted at me, dipping his hand in his pocket and bringing out another phone.

“You are talking bullshit.” I scoffed, and he displayed his phone screen to me, swiping and showing me Diane’s naked pics and videos.

“I am going to post all that. And you know the best one…” He smirked and showed me a picture of me and Diane in that club.

“I never knew this would be so important.” He said in a threatening tone.

“I wasn’t a teacher before that. I never knew she was a student here, and besides, she offered herself to me. Whatever you do to Diane has nothing to do with me. I don’t care a bit about her!” I scoffed, and Jaden snickered, looking over my shoulder.

“You heard that clearly, right?” He chuckled, and I turned sharply to see Diane behind me, tears streaming down her cheeks.
