Aurora’s POV:

I stepped out of the room with my mother following closely behind me. I was so lost in my thoughts that I had almost forgotten how weak she was. When it occurred to me that she might be lagging, I stopped, turned around, and smiled when I noticed that Klaus had his arm wrapped around her protectively while he pulled her alongside him.

“Thank you,” I mouthed to him and he nodded.

“You’re welcome.” He mouthed back.

Upon seeing that she was doing just fine, I turned away and continued to walk through the airy corridors. We went down a few more flights of stairs and before you knew it, we arrived at the dungeons.

The first thing I noticed when I stepped into the place today was how bad-smelling the entire place was. It was damp and dark and had this eerie feeling to it that I couldn’t quite decipher. Another thing I noticed was how the soldiers had changed the positions of the locked-up criminals, and now, Josie’s and Emily’s cells were just opposite of each other.

Aurora’s POV:Josie was revived after a brief administration of first aid and funny enough this time, she no longer looked fearless. The cockiness that she once exuded had now been morphed into panic and her pride deflated. Something about the way the color drained from her face made me feel superior, and I was glad that despite all her earlier sass, I had one thing over her… something that she hadn’t seen coming. She latched her fingers on my upper arm, gripping my arm with so much vigor. Her eyes were frantic when she asked; “He didn’t die?”“Of course he didn’t!” I snapped back, shaking my arm off her vice-like grip. One short look behind me and I saw that Emily was also shaking like a leaf. A few drops of tears had fallen from her eyes and her expression which was once cocky was now bland. She had a running nose and her face was so red and blotchy, one would think that she had recently been in a fight. I snickered. “Cat got your tongue now, mama?”“I’m s-sorry!” She stuttered, “

Aurora’s POV;“Daughter… mate?” he muttered again, and as soon as he said that, I rushed into his arms. Tears streamed down my face and my body pulsated with emotions that I couldn’t quite contain.I closed my eyes as I wrapped my arms around him, crying while he only chuckled. One of his hands was at the back of my head and the other was firmly wrapped around my back as if in a bid to keep me from falling. And it worked because my body shook so violently, that I feared I would fall.“My child…” he murmured over and over again, “I missed you,”“I missed you too, papa!” I cried out.It wasn’t until after a moment that I noticed that my mom wasn’t close to us. She wasn’t even with us at all. I slowly turned in her direction and was shocked when I saw that she was still in place. She was still on the floor, where she’d fallen when she saw him at first. Tears streamed down her face and she did not attempt to wipe them off. I carefully broke out of my father’s embrace, went over to help h

Aurora’s POV:With a smile playing on my lips, I brushed my hair in front of the vanity. Klaus on the other hand was behind me, on the bed, and he was busy playing with the kids. For the first time in a long time, seeing my full silver hair made me sad. I missed its old color, I missed how dark and rich it used to look. Carefully, I combed through it with my eyes focused on nothing but the ashen strands that almost looked like they were bleached by dye produced only by the moon goddess. However, I was snapped out of my thoughts when I felt something gently brush against my arm. Slowly, I turned in its direction and smiled when I noticed that it was Klaus and that he was now standing behind me with his fingers drawing invisible patterns on my arm. His eyes were soft and there was an almost pitiful smile on his face.“A Penny for your thoughts,” He drawled and I smiled before I ducked my head, shying away from his stares.True, I’ve lived with him for a while now. I’ve even had kids wit

Aurora’s POV:However, our loud laughter soon ceased. I wrapped my arms around Klaus and this time, we didn’t bother to get on the bed before devouring each other’s lips. His eyes were glazed as his hands ravaged the length of my skin and somehow, I found that weirdly satisfying.I loved that I could do this to him. That I could arouse him, make him want me… and that I didn’t need to do much before spiking such reactions from him.His tongue found its way into my mouth and just as it did so, it swept the entire length. This time, he was gentle, and he watched where he was headed. He carefully laid me on the bed while kissing me the entire time. We were halfway into the kiss when suddenly he broke away and began to walk towards the mini fridge by the table.“What’re you doing?” I croaked out, with my voice thick with arousal and in response, he winked at me without saying a word. My curiosity soon turned into frustration and in something akin to anger, I sat up, gawking when I realize

Aurora’s POV:I woke up to the feeling of sunlight in my face and sure enough, when I pried my eyes open, I wasn’t so surprised to see that it was because a certain someone had so diligently raised the curtains. I sat up with a frown. My eyes snapped to the baby cot in the corner of the room not too far from the bed and when I saw that both David and Davina were still peacefully sleeping, I sighed; “Thank God,”“Good morning, beautiful,” Klaus’ voice said from behind me, and quickly, I turned around, ready to snap at him for waking me up the way he did but then I held my tongue when I saw him standing there with a smile, shirtless and with a tray of English breakfast in his hands.“Good morning,” I responded sheepishly, and then pointing at the tray in his hands, I asked; “What’re you doing there?” Klaus shrugged dismissively; “waiting for you to wake up so that I can bring you breakfast.”“Oh…” I blushed,With a smile on my face, I rose to my feet, blushing even harder when it occur

Aurora’s POV:“Emily escaped?” I rushed out, dumping my fork onto the tray, “how?”Something about the news made me panic but I wasn’t sure if it was because I didn’t trust Emily one bit and feared what she would do to us after escaping or because our Father was back now, and deep down, I felt like she would go after him.“Yes… And I don’t know, also, I need to get going,” He answered quickly, and then pointing to the food, he continued; “Make sure you finish your food, I’ll be back in a—”While he said that, my anger skyrocketed and so did my frustration. I paid no attention to him or the sweet-smelling food in front of me as I rushed to change into something a little more… comfortable. I clad myself in a pair of free jogger pants and changed into a gray tank top. Klaus on the other hand, simply threw a shirt over his head and dashed out of the room, leaving me behind. When I was done with that, I ran in the direction that Klaus’ smell lingered. It drew me and blindly, I followed it

Aurora’s POV: In the now stiffly quiet place, the only thing I could hear was the sound of Savannah’s gasps as she gurgled out blood from her mouth. She clutched the side of her neck where the bullet had penetrated and stared into space with her glazing eyes. I jumped toward her, ready to help but when I saw the dark side eyes she immediately threw at me, I quickly stepped back. I knew she hated me, and I knew that she wanted Klaus to herself. However, what I didn’t understand was how she still remembered to hold grudges even now that she was on the brink of death. I turned to Klaus; “Help her!” Klaus, who had initially been so stunned, rushed to Savannah’s side. He wrapped his arms around her and then pressed down on her bullet wound using a small towel that had been in his pants pocket. “Breathe… slowly,” he whispered to her; and then turning to his soldiers, he yelled; “Someone get the healer!” As soon as I heard this, I stepped toward Klaus and Savannah again and knelt

Aurora’s POV:Klaus and I had just taken only a few steps away from Savannah’s corpse when we heard a loud explosion from a distance. I watched in shock as dust and smoke rose into the air, and immediately, the few soldiers with us ran in its direction. Klaus tried to run to check too but I quickly held his arm, halting his movement. In a panic, I rushed out; “please, stop!”“Stop? Why?” He questioned with his eyebrows shooting up.I ducked my head as I struggled to get the words out of my mouth. Call me selfish but I was too scared to allow him to go and check what the noise was about because I was afraid of what might happen.“Because your soldiers have it under control.”“And I’ll be certain that it is under control when I get ther—”“What if it is something bad?” I snapped, interrupting him. “What if something happens to you? I do not trust Emily and her craftiness.”“Shh…” he whispered, placing a finger gently on my lips. “… calm down, baby. I understand your worries but then it’

Unknown POV: (3 years later) Klaus and Aurora sat by the veranda, looking out at the field while young children played around, young children about their children’s age. Aurora was happy and her heart felt full… but somehow, somewhere deep inside her heart, she felt uneasy. She didn’t know what was wrong but she did know that she was uncomfortable. Her eyes wandered to where her children sat and seeing how they were still so engrossed with their toys, she smiled. “Maybe, I’m just so paranoid.” She mused, causing Klaus to turn to her. He asked her what she had said and after telling him about her thoughts, he let out a breath and muttered; “it’s been several years now, love. We’re fine now. Everyone is happy now… stop overthinking these things. The children, the pack is safe.” “But the children are too strong.” Aurora cried, “…it would take just one glance at them for an outsider to know that they’re different. They don’t even act like their mates!” “And how do you expect

Aurora’s POV:The glasses clinked as Klaus and I made a toast and while everyone sipped from our glasses, we didn’t. We only took the first sip after the toast and then poured most of the remaining contents of our drinks on the paper in the bin. It was our Prenuptial agreement. The stupid arrangement that Klaus had come up with when we first met. A smile tugged at my lips as I remembered those times and in awe of how much we’ve grown since then, I leaned into him for a hug.“Thank you,” I whispered, kissing his chest, uncaring if my red lipstick would stain his crisp white shirt. He didn’t seem to bother too as he also leaned closer, placed a kiss on my forehead, and whispered;“No, thank you, my love.”I blushed. It was the fiercest blush I have had in a while and everyone who noticed this began to laugh excitedly. At this moment, I looked around us, at my parents who were cheering and clapping at Bella while she made funny faces at David and Davina, at Jasmine who had tears stream

Aurora’s POV:I watched in curiosity as the flames lit up the evening sky, causing tons of smoke to fill the atmosphere in an almost suffocating manner. There were agonized screams coming from everywhere, but it was one from agony not from pain. Agony because a source of their livelihood was burning down, agony because a lot of money was being burnt to a crisp. Nobody was in pain, no. Klaus and I made sure no one would get hurt. While everyone had a piece of cloth or paper covering the lower parts of their face to block their nostrils from the angry fumes, I didn’t. I took it all in, giggling and happy.Klaus was standing beside me and he seemed just as pleased as I was. The only difference was that he wasn’t showing his emotions on his face. He still appeared stoic and nonchalant. One of Klaus’ soldiers held a limp Michael by his collar while he was made to watch his lifelong sweat go down the drain. He was quiet all through but his emotions were as bright as day. Tears streaked his

Aurora’s POV:My breath hitched in my throat as I watched Damon saunter into the room, brandishing a large gun on his shoulders. I saw more than a few Elders shrink away in fear and I almost barked out a laugh from how stupid they appeared doing that. However, I was quickly snapped to the present when I felt something cold against my skin and I frowned when I saw that it was the gun and that Damon was pressing it against my head.“And what is happening here?” He asked no one in particular, but his gaze was planted firmly on Klaus’ face.Without thinking, I pushed the gun away and got up, standing between Klaus and Damon. “What are you doing here?” I asked him instead, evading his question.I saw Damon’s eyes widen but I wasn’t sure if it was because he noticed that I wasn’t scared of him even with a gun or because of something else entirely. Choosing that opportunity, I stepped closer to him until we were almost standing chest to chest and whispered;“Leave… nothing here is any of you

The chatter in the room died down as soon he stepped in with his mate stalking behind him. Normally, anyone who saw them would think she was hiding behind him but that was unlike the case here. She was protecting him. She was his aide, his bodyguard, and his Luna.People knew them. Word had gotten out. She was the last of her kind. The only white wolf left in their entire world and people feared her for that. The elders who once wanted Klaus out of the throne because he wasn’t ‘fit’ now thought otherwise. With a Luna like her, you would always be fit.“King Klaus!” An old man with a boisterous voice called out. His voice rang around the room and when Aurora turned to regard him, he shrunk into his chair.Aurora always wanted to be respected, not feared. These days after a lot of people came to know what she was, she noticed that many now feared her. Those who respected her before feared and respected her now, and those who never respected her only feared her now.Right now, ignoring t

Klaus’ POV: I watched her, my mate, with fascination as she wiped the sweat off her face with the back of her hand and stepped away from the now limp form of a beat-up Alpha; and I couldn’t help but feel more proud of her than I already was. I loved how she’d gotten every information she wanted out of Michael without laying a finger on him… but considering the amount of damage she’d done to him, I wasn’t sure I could still classify her methods of torture as not laying a finger on him. She smiled at me when she came up to me, a smile that was so bright no one could imagine what she had been doing for the past hour. She handed her phone to me and I smiled when I noticed that it was still recording, even until now. Quietly, I shut it off and pulled her into a hug. “Thank you…” I whispered but she shook her head immediately. “What—?” “No, thank you,” She whispered lovingly, “…for acknowledging that this is my fight and not trying to get into it. At first, I didn’t know what to

Aurora’s POV: I stood in a corner of the dark room with amusement gleaming in my eyes while Emily glared daggers at me. By the other end, just opposite Emily was Michael who was still fast asleep as a result of the effect of the drug I had knocked him out with. Klaus’ guards had chained him to the metal chair and left him to my mercy… or so I thought until I smelled him, Klaus. I didn’t even turn around to acknowledge him. I didn’t even flinch. “What’re you doing here?” I murmured under my breath, but loud enough that he could hear me. He threw a glance at me. There was a hint of mischief in his eyes when he simply said; “I am here to watch you work.” Deep down, even though I tried to believe him, I knew that he was lying. I could feel it deep inside our mate bond. My heart clenched in my chest when I realized that he was here because he didn’t trust me not to hurt them so much, or perhaps even kill them but I didn’t say a word as regards that. I simply blinked back the tears

Aurora’s POV:I stepped into the dimly lit restaurant with a sultry smile gracing my lips. Even before I stepped in, I already knew where Michael was seated so I immediately made my way to him, almost basking in delight when his eyes widened as soon as he took in my appearance.“Queen superior…” he let out almost breathlessly. His eyes settled just on my exposed cleavage for a few seconds before he begrudgingly pulled them to my face.“…I thought I was supposed to meet with King Klaus today.” He pointed out, eyeing me skeptically.I shrugged; “well, hello to you too, Michael. I am doing fine and you?!” I sassed, eliciting a breathy chuckle from him.“Oh, I’m so sorry, Aurora, I was so stunned by your beauty that I momentarily forgot my manners.” He quickly responded. If that was his silly excuse for flattery then he had a lot more to learn. Refusing to show how unimpressed I was by him, I smiled, briefly exposing my pearly whites. “You flatter me!”Resting against the table, I leaned

I noticed how his eyes sexily roamed my body before landing on my eyes.“You look stunning,” he let out, his voice no more than a breathy moan escaping his lips. I smiled my toothy smile at him and turned to take a quick glance at my reflection in the mirror.“Thank you, love,” I murmured back.I was clad in a little red dress, and when I say little, I mean that it did little to cover my curves. It was a long dress alright but had a very high slit by the left side, one that almost reached my waist. The neckline was low and droopy, exposing more cleavage than I would have liked but that didn’t deter me. In fact, it made me feel like I could pull this off.My silver hair was in a tight ponytail but after noticing how serious it made me look, I released it, letting it drop and then I stepped away from the mirror.Klaus was already behind me when I spun away
