Chapter Ninety One.

Aurora’s POV:

Josie was revived after a brief administration of first aid and funny enough this time, she no longer looked fearless. The cockiness that she once exuded had now been morphed into panic and her pride deflated. Something about the way the color drained from her face made me feel superior, and I was glad that despite all her earlier sass, I had one thing over her… something that she hadn’t seen coming.

She latched her fingers on my upper arm, gripping my arm with so much vigor. Her eyes were frantic when she asked; “He didn’t die?”

“Of course he didn’t!” I snapped back, shaking my arm off her vice-like grip.

One short look behind me and I saw that Emily was also shaking like a leaf. A few drops of tears had fallen from her eyes and her expression which was once cocky was now bland. She had a running nose and her face was so red and blotchy, one would think that she had recently been in a fight.

I snickered. “Cat got your tongue now, mama?”

“I’m s-sorry!” She stuttered, “
