Chapter Eighty Nine.

Aurora’s POV:

“Josie…?” I found myself whispering when I reached the sitting room and found a frail woman sitting on one of the sofas.

I still had my doubts and rightfully so. But then when I fully stepped into the room, I took a deep breath because I was finally consumed with an aura I have grown to recognize and love… it was something that even Josie never had.

As if noticing my presence, my mother looked up. Her eyes were tired but they still held excitement in them… they held ‘her spark’. That was the last thing that should’ve broken my resolve. Something that should’ve had me running to her but I was still suspicious. For some not-so-unknown reason, I was scared. I was scared that this was another trap and that we had all been played with…again.

I noticed footsteps behind me and from the scent that immediately wafted into my nostrils, I knew that it was Klaus. I didn’t even need to turn around.
