Chapter 20

Jaden’s POV

“Dad, I want to tell you the whole truth! A different thing from what everyone knows because I trust you to make the right decision.”

His eyes squinted at me as he took a seat in the chair beside my bed. The bandage was still around my arms and some plaster on my head. The wounds were healing but still painful. Although what hurts most wasn’t these physical injuries.

It was the fact that Diane kept me in this condition and didn’t care at all. She had been going to school freely while me and my friend went through excruciating pain.

I had lied it was an accident but now I would tell my father everything. Leo and Diane won’t know what will hit them.

“Did he really take a video of you trying to tape her?” My father asked with a deep growl, his eyes red.

“He said he did. I don’t know if it is true, but we can’t sit here and guess.”

“I am glad you told me this. In two days you will be discharged. The school clinic will take over so you can attend school. Don’t worry; I will personally deal with Leo, and Diane will be yours. That girl is worthless and should be thankful you even want to touch her filthy body!” He seethed, and I nodded, a smile on my face.

“So you will offer her to me to have sex with her as I want?” I asked in excitement, and he nodded, displaying three fingers to me.

“Just give me three days to set things up. Only the living can file a case of rape, right? Since you never loved her, when you are done having fun with her, you know where that unregistered pistol is…” He smirked, and my eyes widened as I stared with gasps.

“Really? What about…”

“Don’t worry about anything; I will take care of it. There is nothing money can’t do, you know…” He whispered and let out a croaky laugh before walking out.

I picked up my phone immediately and called Alan.

“We are having her in three days. Let’s find a better location.”

Diane’s POV

At first glance at the picture of that girl, I was already seeing her as a friend and really couldn’t wait till when she would get enrolled just as Leo had said. 

He sounded really sure she would start school soon. Since he wants to protect her, I would also help me with that by doing everything possible to keep the girl close to me as my best friend, although I am not so sure how I would achieve that with a girl from a rich home.

It had been three days since I visited Leo, and the memory was still fresh in my head. We had secretly been seeing each other in the corner, having sex in his office and having a lot of discussions. 

He was so smart and good at it that nobody would ever believe we were friends. At times in class, he would be intentionally harsh on me, but I knew it was all fake.

Falling in love with my teacher had never been part of the plan. I never imagined I would be in such situations, but I guess life is totally unpredictable. 

 Leo was the perfect man and I was just so lucky to be the one he fell for. Sometimes I wonder if it was real because in class I wasn’t the most beautiful or classy, and Leo was someone who had made every girl crush on him just at first sight. 

He chose me and was even ready to risk it all. We had both ignored whatever consequences would come up if our secrets were exposed in any way. Helen, on the other hand, was feeling on top of the world and bragging about being Leo’s woman. 

It was now something everybody in the school knew, and that had removed their raised suspicion eyes on us, and it all felt safe sneaking around with him.

Our love was growing really deep and intense that we couldn’t stay a minute without texting, and with any given chance, we would use signs to set a location to meet up. 

Everything was going fine and peaceful, and I was only waiting for this new girl to get enrolled. I don’t know why I found interest in her as if she was someone I had met in my past life. Or maybe since her parents had really helped Leo, I found myself liking her, and it was like a duty for me to treat her as my sister.

I headed to the cafeteria to get some snacks and drinks, and my phone chimed. I smiled knowing who it was. Leo must be calling me over already. I didn’t check my phone yet till I was done making orders. 

I sat at the empty table before bringing out my phone. 

My brows furrowed as I stared at the strange message with a sender whose contact was hidden. 

The text sent chills down my spine, and terror pooled inside my stomach that I couldn’t even eat what I bought anymore. 

I had to check my phone again to be sure this was really sent to me. I thought nobody knew? Leo had reaffirmed to me that he was playing his part well to make sure no one finds out.

“I know your secrets with him, and I have all the tapes of you both making out in halls and offices. If you don’t want me to publish them all, meet me at…” I paused, and my eyes squinted at the address sent.

I had never been to somewhere like that, and it appeared to be a really far place from both my school and home. 

Why does this person want me to meet up at such a place? 

My heart was pounding fast as I reread, hoping I would see a different thing from this threatening message that had made me freeze in horror.

Another message came in, and my hands were literally shaking as I opened it. 

“Your knight in shining armor isn’t also available, so don’t think of running to him for help. Once school is over, enter the next taxi here, and if you arrive late, it may already be on the internet, and that will be over.”

“Please don’t upload it. I will be there." I typed and sent before speeding off to Leo’s office, abandoning everything I bought. 

I got to the office, and it was open, but as I entered, nobody was in there truly. My breath was shaky and labored, fear choking me in the truth as I bit my lower lip, fighting back my tears.

I rushed to Helen’s office and knocked. I wiped my tears and kept a little smile on my face as she opened the door.

“WOW, see who’s here… I thought you hated...”

“Sorry, ma’am, have you seen Leo earlier? I need to submit something to him, but he isn’t in his office. Do you know…

“Why are you breathing heavily as if you’re scared?” She sneered at me. “You still think he would tell you everywhere he goes?”

“No ma’am,” I swallowed hard as she let out a proud smile. 

“You need to know he is dating me, and whatever interest you think he once had for you is gone. He sent me a text earlier that he was going for an emergency. His mother was sick and rushed to the hospital..” She grinned excitedly, feeling so proud as usual.

But Leo told me he was an orphan. 

“Guess what else he told me…” She cackled and walked closer. “He said I should lie to you that he went to ask Jaden’s father for forgiveness for hurting their son just because of you.” She whispered and giggled.

My eyes widened, and I felt my heart skip a beat.

She laughed and brought out her phone. She showed me the message, and I instantly saw our emoji sign. It was what we used when texting each other in codes to hide some information we didn’t want others to know.

Without saying anything, I left her office, and she won’t stop laughing, thinking I was heartbroken. 

Leo was just trying to tell me that Jaden’s father had taken him away and that also meant the message I received was related to Jaden.

Why would Jaden want me to meet him in that place? Maybe to finish what he started? 

Was he going to force himself on me? 

I racked my brain to think of what I should do, but there was nothing registering in my head and Leo wasn’t around to tell me what to do. This was definitely one of those moments he told me I would have to think by myself.

I leaned on the wall in the hallway trying to figure out everything about Leo's message. He told Helen he went for an emergency. The emoji was a happy one, which makes it seem like he was in safe hands.

But how? 

You can’t be kidnapped by Jaden's father and be safe, not when you almost killed his son.
