He missed by a close inch before Leo fired two shots into his skull, and he dropped dead instantly.

Leo's eyes were dark, and his face was red like that of a devil as he turned to look at Jaden, who was now trembling on the floor.

“He should shoot her, huh?” He let out a hollow chuckle, playing with the pistol in his hand.

“Fuck you! Murderer!” Jaden snarled. “Kill me. Kill me!”

“I will definitely do that this time. I warned you.”

“I am sure she will not want to be with someone who is a killer. Or are you an assassin in disguise?" Jaden let out a sardonic laugh, and Leo turned to me. My heart clenched as I saw him look at me with pain in his eyes.

“He really raped you.” He said as if trying to convince me that he should kill him. “See those bruises? He did all that to you, right?”

I nodded, tears brimming my eyes and streaming down my cheek.

He was focusing on me and had lost attention on Jaden for a split second, and that was the opportunity he was waiting for. He didn't see it coming as Jaden rose and grabbed the flower vase, lunging at him aggressively to slam his head.

I sprang up like someone who was stung, jumping out of the bed and picking up the gun that had dropped off Alan's grip when he dropped dead. Just before Jaden could hit his head, I fired a shot at him, and the bullet buried in his forehead.

The vase was hung in the air as he looked at me with those dying eyes, blood gushing from his head.

The gun fell from my trembling hand as I stared at him and fell dead, the vase also falling on him while Leo's jaw dropped.

“He almost hit me.” Leo seethed, and as he saw I was petrified, my whole body paralyzed, he fired three more shots at Jaden.

“I killed him, not you, so don't be hard on yourself. After all, you just saved my life. He…” I couldn't wait for him to finish as I ran to him with a tight hug.

“Please take me out of here.” I sniffed as he wrapped his arms around me, rubbing my back.

“Yes. Let's go before the cops arrive.” He kissed my forehead, and I looked up at him with tears of joy replacing the agony.

“I thought you wouldn't be able to save me this time.”

“But I arrived late. They….”

“You came. That is all that mattered. They were going to humiliate me and turn me into a pig.” I sobbed.

“Yes. And kill you at the end because that was the instructions. Dress up; let's go. I will explain everything to you.” He cooed and picked up the gun I used to kill Jaden.

“Leo, am I a murderer? I actually killed him.” I swallowed hard as I looked at Jaden's corpse, my heart racing in fear.

“He raped you. He almost killed me. He also ordered Alan to shoot at you. That is more than enough reason to slaughter him like a chicken. It was either him or us. It was self-defense.” He said convincingly before snatching away the camera.

“True,” I nodded with a smile, feeling better.

We both walked out, his arms around my waist while I leaned on his shoulder.

“I suspected that Jaden would come up with a plan to hurt you, so I made Selene put the chip I gave to her in his phone. That was how I knew about their plans, but I had to play along so I could save you and kill Jaden without any of them having any prior notice.” He muttered under his breath, and my jaw dropped.

“Really? Wow. Where did Jaden's father take you?” I asked, and he took a deep breath.

“Their plan was for his son to rape and kill you, then I'll be the accused. That was why that camera was set and the text you received was sent from my phone. Jaden's father sedated the wine he offered me, but I was already with an antidote, which I took beforehand and then pretended to be unconscious.”

“What the heck! How is he that evil?” I exclaimed.

“If he had succeeded, you would be dead, and I would be imprisoned for life, but unlucky for him, I was smarter and had already offered his son to God as a sacrifice for his sins.” He paused and glanced at my red cheek.

He growled and clenched his hand tighter on the steering wheel, his lips twitching.

“I will kill him.”

His voice was cold and mean, those eyes glinting with unwavering darkness that made a chill run down my spine as I stared at him.

“Are you not worried about the two bodies we dropped in that house? What if the cops find out we…”

“They won't find out anything, don't worry.” He interrupted with a shrug.

“How are you sure? Please, I don't want to go to jail. I don't want my parents to have their lives ruined because of me. I pulled the trigger on Jaden. I killed him.” My voice cracked as my heart began to accelerate, fear pooling in my stomach.

“Someone will clear off any possible evidence. The only person we should be worried about is Jaden's father. He definitely knows we killed his son and will be back anytime soon for revenge.” Leo breathed, and a sinking feeling overwhelmed me.

I placed my hand on my racing heart as air seemed to leave my lungs. My whole body was shaking, and breathing suddenly became hard.

“But there won't be any evidence to report to court, so I guess he will go the other way…” Leo added, and I leaned back in the chair with tears in my eyes.

“So my life is in danger? In school, he has the biggest share. He can easily get at us… What if he kills…”

“He won't touch you because the dead tell no tales, nor do they fight back. Don't worry.”

“How do you sound so sure you can kill him? Why do you talk like you already have it all planned? You are just a teacher, and I am a student. We don't have what it takes to fight someone like him.” I inhaled heavily, beads of sweat on my forehead as terror hit me like a rock.

“Can you trust me?” He sighed as he finally reached my house and halted in front of the gate.

“Yes, I do.” I replied, my eyes on him as he gazed back at me.

“Do you trust me enough to be at ease and have no fear because I will always protect you? I will always appear to save you because you are my princess, and anyone that touches you is calling death upon themselves!” He uttered possessively, holding my hands and squeezing them softly.

They look cold, but deep inside gives me warmth.” She muttered, blinking those pretty eyes that seemed like they were seeing through my soul.“Soon I will tell you everything about me. All. So we don't have any secrets between us. No lies, okay?” I smiled, and her eyes lit up as she nodded.“Follow me in, please.” She begged, and I chuckled, shaking my head.“Whenever we are in an enclosed space, your body tempts me the most, and I feel vulnerable to your charm. We will see each other in school tomorrow, but for now I have to go and deal with some important issues.” Her eyes turned gloomy as she looked down to the ground.“Leo, I am scared. The night will be like a terror, and maybe I won't be able to sleep because I just killed someone. His face will haunt me.” She sniveled.“Then remind yourself h

Just as expected, as soon as the school bell rang for break, Diane came to my office with Sofia.“You know I warned no student to enter my office.” I breathed, letting out a smile.“I know, sir, but I have to bring her here.” She grinned, glancing at Sofia, who was still feeling shy. “We just met today, and she accepted me to be her friend. She even chose to sit with me.”“You both look like you’re really close. Is he your relative?” Sofia asked with a surprised look.“No, we aren’t.” Diane chirped and leaned closer to her, whispering something into her ear that made her eyes widen in shock.“Isn’t that wrong? Just when I thought everything was well planned out, it came crashing and turning all sour. Someone was behind the shadows ruining my mission just so I wouldn’t gain my freedom. My chest rumbled, and rage boiled inside me like a raging fire. I could feel my whole body burning, veins red and sprouting as I clenched my teeth to control myself. The last time I felt this way was when my father was killed, and now it was back. That monster that turned me into a villain, killing every trace of empathy inside me.My eyes moved to the gate where Diane had rushed in, and I felt like a knife was stabbed to my chest. All I wanted was to keep it a secret and finish this mission; then we would live that life I dreamed of. But someone from my organization decided to destroy it all.“Just pray I don’t get you!” I bellowed, entering the car and zooming off to the location Sofia had sent to me.As I got close, I found out it was her house. She called me as soon as the gate was opened for me.“I am gla

“No, I don’t.” I snapped, “Tell me what is going on! What did she read in those files that made her say what she said? Apart from you being a mafia member, what else is the reason she has to put you in jail?! What are you not telling me?!”“Diane, the mistake we made is allowing those files to get to her hand. Now I have to find a way to get it without any negotiation because I don’t think she will offer any reasonable one.”“Why do you think so? She is our friend!” I retorted, but he let out an empty chuckle.“She is not our friend. Even if she is, now she has gone through that document, it is all over.”“What did she read in it?” I asked. “Tell me!”He paused, looking me in the eyes, filled with different emotions I couldn’t understand. He tried saying something but clamped his lips shut, shaking his head. “I can’t tell you.” He breathed, and just then his phone beeped. He checked and quickly distanced himself from me.Leo’s POVI really wonder where I went wrong in my plan. Diane's POV It was like cold water was splashed all over my body, my blood running cold as I stared at him hoping he would tell me it was a prank or some sort of funny joke just to tease me.But none of that happened. I watched him collapse on the chair there, his eyes shimmering with anxiety and the veins in his arms and neck sprouting harshly.I moved closer and picked up the bag, turning it upside down, allowing everything in it to pour out. Just a few of my books, the pistol, and the cellphone, but that document wasn’t there. I was sure it was there when I left for Sofia's place. Why did I not check before leaving?I slept off, and once I woke, I ran out without telling her just so I wouldn’t have to give her the explanation she demanded. My mind didn’t think of rechecking my bag. I took a quick bath and dressed up in casual wear, covering my face with a cap before heading out through the back door.I had a feeling someone was keeping an eye on me, so I had to sneak out secretly to avoid being followed since I was heading to Diane’s house. I don’t want any of this to be linked with her. She is just too innocent to be involved in this even though I had made her do a lot for me today. She hadn’t called me yet or sent any text. I don’t expect any because she would be really angry at me. That’s if it hadn’t turned to hatred because she must have seen what those files contained.I was just lucky she didn’
