Chapter 24

“Leo and Diane, what do you have to say about all this? Why are you being accused of knowing about the missing of both Jaden and Alan?” The proprietor asked as soon as Jaden's father left.

“I don’t know. I am also very confused. Maybe because I was his ex…" Diane muttered, looking down to the ground with a gloomy face.

“Like I said earlier, we should all do everything we can to find out the perpetrator or hope they are both alive.” Leo said with a calm voice, his hands folded over his chest.

“Everyone is dismissed! Until the cops find out something, I don’t want anyone to say anything about this outside!” He instructed before walking out.

Diane left, and I headed back to my office.

“Hey, Leo, what’s up? How is your mother? You told me she…”

“She is fine. I have class now, so we will talk later.” I was blunt, angry that she was even the one close to me and not Diane. Her voice alone had made all the excitement I had after seeing Diane vanish.

Her brows arched as she peered at me, confused over my reaction. I was sure my face was full of disgust at that moment.

“You sound so…”

“I am sorry. I will explain to you after I am done teaching, but my mother isn’t getting any better; that's why I am in a bad mood.” I lied, and she nodded with a sorry face.

“This is so sad to hear. I really hope she gets better. What did the doc…”

She couldn’t finish what she was saying because I had started walking away at a fast pace.

My time was even running out, and it was Diane’s class I had to take this morning. The happiness of seeing Diane was something I didn’t know had gotten this extreme that I couldn’t even wait to hear the nonsense Helen was saying.

As soon as I got into the class, she was the one my eyes first met. Sitting like the pretty princess she was right in the second row, glowing like the moon.

Our eyes met, and her eyes brightened with a smile that made it seem like everything had vanished. The whole class, especially the females, was so giddy to see me, sending gestures to draw my attention, but Diane was the only one I could see.

My eyes moved from her face to her side as I realized there was someone sharing the same seat with her.

My heart wrenched in anger, and I could feel my blood boil in rage as I took in the face and could clearly recognize it to be the girl I had been waiting for. There was no difference with the one in the picture Kane had given me.

Why is she sitting with Diane?

Doesn’t she have a desk of her own?

She looked up, and our eyes met. I quickly looked away because it was getting on my nerves, and I wasn’t sure how long I could control myself.

The girl was like the replica of her father, and looking into those chestnut brown eyes of hers, all I could see was her ruthless father.

“It seems we have a newcomer in class today.” I faked a smile at her, and she nodded with a shy smile while Diane was simply grinning.

How are they suddenly friends?

“Yes, she started yesterday.” A guy from the back replied with a smug smile.

“Introduce yourself.” I instructed, fixing my eyes on her as I began to think of the possible way to kidnap her. She was really beautiful with her curly blonde hair and porcelain skin that were really smooth and healthy from being in wealth all her life.

The pictures didn’t do her justice. Her father must have spent half of all his wealth on her.

She stood up, and all the guys were staring lustily at her.

“My name is Sofia. I am 20 years old. I came here to finish up my education. Nice to meet you all.”

Diane was the first to clap and gave her a handshake.

“She is nicer than I imagined.” She squeaked, looking at me as if to remind me she was the girl I told her I would protect. I knew once it was break time she would come to my office with her and must have told her everything.

Maybe that wouldn’t be a bad move, though, since it would make the young girl trust me. That would make it easier for me to kidnap her and offer her to the Don.

“Alright, Sofia. I am Leo. You will get to know your fellow classmates as the day goes. You can sit, so I will teach.”

It was a struggle to focus on my teaching, but I was able to scale through as normally as possible so they wouldn't suspect anything.

My mission was coming to an end, and the refreshing relief was so overwhelming. Anytime my eyes met hers, I would feel that chill of excitement run down my spine.

She was the key to my freedom. The last move for a checkmate, and I can’t afford to miss it. Her father must have kept certain precautions, so I had to tread carefully.

After teaching, I gave them the opportunity to ask questions, which they all did, including Diane. I could notice her asking Sofia if she had any questions. She was shy and was smiling sheepishly till she finally raised her hand just when I was about to leave.

“What question do you have?” I asked, my voice appearing cold even when I had really tried to make it calmer. With her, our mafia will get our ultimate revenge on her father, and that had always been the Don's dream. She has no idea about this.

I watched as she stood with her cool smile, her cheeks kinda pink.

“I don’t have any questions, but I just want to thank you for your proper lecture. I had never understood a mathematics topic like I did today. You are really a genius.”

“Yes… he is!” Diane giggled, but I couldn’t smile even when I tried forcing one.

“Thank you. See you guys next time!”

I left the class and retired to my office. It was time for the final plan on how to end it all. I know it would break Diane when Sofia vanishes into thin air, but I will make sure she never finds out I have a hand in it. Once I have my freedom, we can both go to the country of our choice with my mother, and we can live that life we dream about with all the wealth I have accumulated.
