A brief silence formed between the two.

Maxwell lit a cigarette. Through the rising smoke, his gaze fell on the half-empty wine bottle on the table. "After getting bullied, all you did was drink alcohol in secret. Savannah, have you become weak? When I let you go at the start, it wasn't so that you'd get bullied."

Savannah laughed quietly when she heard that, but her laughter was full of ridicule and bitterness. She grabbed the wine bottle to continue to drown her sorrows, but Maxwell stopped.

"How could you be drinking while having a concussion? Do you not want to live?"

"It's such a waste to throw it away though. Why don't you drink it?"

Gibson Finance owned a brewery as well as a winery and vineyard in Pennor. Since he was young, Maxwell had learned wine tasting with his grandfather, Roger Gibson. He was something of an expert now.

Savannah couldn't imagine how he managed to cut alcohol.
