Chapter 5

Savannah couldn't help laughing out loud when she heard what John said.

John spent most of his time mastering his skills and was thus terrible at comforting people. It was perhaps already hard enough for him to say something somewhat comforting like that.

"You don't have to worry about me. I'm doing fine. It's just that I'm sorry to have troubled you for the past three years."

Since Molly fell sick, she had been under John's care at the hospital. It was also thanks to John's position as the hospital director that they could go abroad for the treatment, as he had contacts in the hospitals there.

"Don't say things like that. If it hadn't been for your grandfather, I wouldn't have become the person I am today. Since your mother and grandfather aren't around anymore, it's my responsibility to take care of you."

"Thank you, Dr. Campbell."

Savannah was really grateful toward him, but she didn't know what else to say.

There were so many people in the world who knew how to be grateful, but Savannah seemed to have avoided them all.

Molly and Riley both moved to Oliver's apartment in the city center. Since they had moved overnight in a hurry, their things were still in a mess because they hadn't had time to sort them out yet.

"I knew that Savannah couldn't leave you, so I thought of being lenient with her since she did serve me well for three years. I never expected her to be such a scheming ingrate and resort to such wicked means. Our family doesn't tolerate this kind of behavior.

"Oliver, hurry up and finalize the divorce with her," Molly said, holding a hand to her heart as if she was in extreme pain.

"I know, Mom," Oliver said, his face as dark as thunder.

He then tried to appease Molly. "Mom, don't stay mad at Savannah. It's not worth it if you get sick again because of her."

"How could I not stay mad at her? I'm so mad I feel like I'm about to die," Molly said.

She had always had a weak physique, and after going through such a tiring ordeal, she was starting to feel ill. So, she said, "I don't feel well. Get Savannah to—Forget it. Riley will accompany me to the hospital tomorrow."

The next day, Riley went to Scarlett Hospital with Molly. They took the elevator and went straight upstairs looking for Bianca, as they always did in the past.

"Ms. Anderson, my mother isn't feeling well. Tell Dr. Campbell to come and have a look at her," Riley demanded, strutting over to the nurse station in her sky-high stilettos, her tone arrogant.

"Dr. Campbell has other patients to attend to. He's busy," Bianca replied. She didn't seem as warm and welcoming as she did in the past anymore. In fact, it looked as if she didn't even want to talk to them.

"What other patient could possibly be more important than my mother? When we came in the past, Dr. Campbell would immediately come and have a look at her!"

"That was in the past. This is the present," Bianca said, giving her a cold side-eye.

She added, "In the past, Dr. Campbell did so because of his relationship with Savannah. But now that she's divorcing your brother, he no longer has any reason to give you the backdoor treatment and prioritize you."

After she was done speaking, Bianca pointed in the direction of the elevators and said, "Don't interrupt me at work anymore. If you want to see a doctor, then get in line with the others and make an appointment."

"Why you… Just you wait!" Riley exclaimed, giving Bianca an empty threat. In the end, she still had to bring Molly downstairs and wait their turn like everyone else.

However, the outpatient specialist appointments were no longer available. And, if they wanted to queue for the regular doctor appointments, the waiting list was at least two hours.

Molly was so mad when she heard the news that she nearly fainted.

"Savannah, that fucking bitch! She did this on purpose! Call your brother at once! Tell him what kind of evil bitch he married three years ago!"

Oliver was in the middle of a meeting when he got Riley's call.

For the past few years, Savannah had always been the one in charge of caring for Molly while she was ill. Oliver knew nothing about Molly's doctor, medicines, or condition because he never had to worry about it.

However, he got furious when he now heard from Riley that Savannah had told the hospital to reject Molly's treatment.

He didn't have the mood to continue with his meeting anymore. Instead, he called Savannah at once.

"Where are you now?"

"Natasha's apartment."

"We need to talk," Oliver said, trying to suppress his anger.

"Sure," Savannah replied nonchalantly.

Savannah didn't have many friends. Oliver knew Natasha's address, so he drove there immediately.

For the years she had been married to Oliver, she had always been on her feet, taking care of Molly's needs and waiting on her hand and foot. It was rare for her to finally have a moment to herself like now.

She sat by the floor-length windows, steeping some tea leaves to make her tea. The sun shone down on her so that she was bathed in the warm glow and looked like she was sparkling.

Oliver rushed into the apartment. When he saw Savannah still happily steeping her tea in a casual manner, his anger hit the roof.

"Savannah Lexington, you're going overboard. How could you tell Dr. Campbell to stop seeing Mom for her illness? Are you trying to get her killed? She used to treat you like her daughter! How could you be so wicked?"

"Dr. Campbell is refusing to see your mother?"

Savannah was surprised. But now that she thought of it, John was the top specialist in the country, which meant he was highly sought-after and there had to be tons of patients waiting in line to see him. If it hadn't been for Savannah's sake, John would never even have found time to be bothered with the Frosts.

"Stop pretending, Savannah. Weren't you the one who told him to do it?" Oliver asked coldly.

Savannah lifted her teacup and took a sip of the tea. However, she must have steeped the tea for far too long because it was now quite bitter.

"If Dr. Campbell won't see her, does she not know that there are other specialists around? There are plenty of other nephrologists in the country. If even that won't do, she can always seek treatment abroad.

"We're already getting divorced, and yet you still want to take advantage of my relationship with them? Mr. Frost, do you think that's appropriate?"

Oliver's face was cold. Although Savannah wasn't wrong, he still thought that she was being too heartless.

"Mom has always treated you like her own daughter for all these years. I feel sorry for her," Oliver said before turning to leave. However, Savannah stopped him by calling out to him.

"Since you're here, you might as well come and sign the divorce papers." She set down the teapot and handed over the new divorce agreement Hanson had sent her to Oliver.

He flipped through the agreement and threw it back onto the table with a cold sneer.

"First, you got Dr. Campbell to stop treating Mom, and now, you want more than half of the company's shares? Did you really think that doing all these would make me want to take you back?

"Let me tell you, Savannah Lexington, that I will never give up on Esther. Your dirty little tricks only disgust me even more!"

Savannah looked at Oliver, thinking that they were finally on the same page and agreeing on something for once. She thought it was disgusting too. Vile, horrid, and absolutely disgusting.

"You should do something about that narcissism of yours. Your condition is pretty serious."

Oliver scoffed. "Savannah, you're out of your mind if you think you're getting 51% of Frost Entertainment's shares from me."

"Had it not been for me, Frost Entertainment would have been bankrupt ages ago. I'm talking business with you. And it's not too much for me to be asking for 51% of the company's shares."

"51% of the company's shares? Why don't you change the name of the company in the meantime? I'd never agree to that!"

"That's fine," Savannah said with a shrug. "Then, see you at court. I heard that it can take up to 12 months to file for divorce, and even so, there might not even be an outcome by the end of that period.

"I don't mind it because I can afford it, but I highly doubt that you can. After all, Esther's tummy is going to swell in just a few months, isn't it? She's not going to look pretty in her wedding dress if she waits that long."

Oliver's face was darker than thunder. He tightened his grip on the divorce agreement that it got crumpled up in his hands. He then glared at her for half a minute before finally leaving in a huff.

After Oliver left, Natasha finally descended from the stairs. She spat in Oliver's direction and then turned to Savannah. "Are you really planning to spend half a year in court with him?"

"I refuse to put in the time and effort for that," Savannah replied.

She picked the teapot up again before pouring herself some more tea. While pouring, she said, "Find a few reliable journalists and get them to spread the news that Oliver is already married. A dirty, cheating scoundrel like him doesn't deserve to pretend to be a romantic in the public eye."
