Throughout the next day, I found it difficult getting the opportunity to speak with Ciara alone. It was either she went for a pack meeting in the shifting square or had guests over at her office for another round of pack talks. I couldn’t help but get angry that she was being difficult to get a hold of. I mean, why was it now that I had something important to discuss with her that she had to be busy? Everytime, I came back from school, she was either having a cup of tea in the dining room or taking a nap in her bedroom. But now that I needed her attention, she had to be busy.

“Damn it.” I snapped, forgetting the cup of hot chocolate I was holding in my left hand, and it punished me by spilling. I almost screamed out loud in pain, but because I didn’t want to alert anyone, I had to clench my teeth to suppress the burning ache.
