When I returned home twenty minutes after Ciara, I casually walked into the dining room to pour for myself a glass of water. Ciara’s conversation with Zachary kept playing in my mind all through the time, and I couldn’t help but wonder if it would ever be possible for him to forgive her. He had been really pissed when she left, and his anger had known no bounds when I tried to talk him into forgiving her. Well, now I know never to plead on their behalf anymore since it would only make him channel his anger towards me.

After pouring the water into a glass, I raised the glass to my lips and drowned the entire content in less than five seconds. I was about to pour another round into the glass when I saw Freya tip toeing out of the hallway.
