1 - Nineteenth birthday

CHAPTER 1 NICOLE'S POV I woke up as the sound of my alarm blared through my ears. With annoyance, I arose from the bed but not before switching the damn annoying alarm off. A thought crossed my mind and I smiled as I remembered that, yes, it was my birthday and I would be nineteen years of age today. I entered my bathroom to do my morning duties, and when I was through and had freshened up, I threw on a baby pink polo and a bum-short as I walked down the stairs. The smell of pancakes wafted through my nose and my stomach grumbled at the sweet aroma. I hastened my footsteps to the kitchen and smiled as I saw my mom Kayla finishing up the preparation. "Good morning Mommy." I greeted the woman who had brought me up since I was a kid. Mom Kayla wasn't my real mother but she treated me as if I was her real daughter. She had never told me but I knew, I knew she had picked me up from the forest when I was four years old, as I could faintly remember, I was abandoned all because I was a ha

2 - Mason's back!

CHAPTER 2 It was strange and I had never experienced it before. I stared around the room in search of that voice that had just talked to me, but I found no one even beside me. I continued looking at myself in the mirror and I cringed as I saw my hair was in disarray and it needed a transforming wash. I quickly rushed to my bathroom to wash my hair as soon as I can and rushed back out to blow dry it, and when I was sure that it looked good, I tied it neatly in a bun atop my hair, and I smiled. Then and there, I heard the soft voice yet again, this time, louder, "Are you excited?" The voice asked me, I looked round yet again, "I'm inside of you." The voice said and that made me understand. Oh! It was my so called wolf. "Wolf?" I asked to be extremely sure. "Yes?" "Why did you introduce yourself to me now?" I asked her, or him, or perhaps it? I knew I would get to one day meet my wolf, but I didn't expect it to be today of all day that I would be meeting Mason. It should have introd

3 - He's my human mate

CHAPTER 3 I hugged him tight as tears threaten to escape from my eyes, and it did because I was feeling too emotional. I soaked his muscular chest with my tears. I don't know how long I hugged him, was it perhaps for five minutes? I wasn't too sure but what I was so sure of was that I felt embarrassed. Why? All through while I was hugging Mason, he never did once hug me back, like he did to mum Kayla. Trying not to show the embarrassment on my face, I untangled my hands from his broad muscular chest and stared at him, deep, like I was trying to search through his soul. Wasn't he also feeling what I was feeling? Couldn't he feel the attraction? Couldn't he also discern that he was my mate and I am his, just as he is mine, already. After my little heartbreaking yet understandable episode with Mason, he made his way up his stairs to his room which was directly opposite mine. That was one thing I loved about this house, if I was lucky enough I get to be the first person he would see w

4 - His rejection

CHAPTER 4 As mom Kayla left the room, I also did leave, I wanted, really wanted to catch a glimpse of Mason again, just to see him again. He was like a drug to me and since not seeing his perfect greek-god like face for over four years, made me always, emphasis on always, want to be closer to him. I never want him to leave my side. Ever again. By the time I came out of my room, I saw him also coming out of his, and as if he noticed my presence, his eyes caught mine again, naturally. "Hi..." I said the first words that made sense to me. The first word that I had said to him after four good years. "Hi? Really?" Nicky taunted me but I had not the heart to even respond to her because it was busy jumping out of my chest waiting for him to reply me. He stared at me intently making my legs weak like jelly and I was concious of his eyes on me, and then he walked out. Like freaking left, ignoring me and not even replying the most easiest word ever. "Mason!" I called out, really desperate

5 - His heartbreaking words

CHAPTER 5 For two good days I was locked up in my room, crying and mourning over the loss of my other half. I refused to open the door for anyone who came knocking, I wasn't ready to face mom Kayla and anyone else, and when I mean anyone else, I meant Mason, that's if he ever came which I so much doubt. He didn't care for me at all. The pain of his rejection was still fresh in my heart. It was as if a other part of my soul was burning, seriously burning that I couldn't even quench it with my tears. I wasn't worthy to be loved. At first I was abandoned by my parent and now I was rejected by my mate. Why was life treating me this way? Why can't everything just go well for me for once in my life? "We'd have to get over this one way or the other." Nicky said and I could feel the pain still evident in her voice. "But it hurts, I doubt I'd ever get over this. It's too painful, you know... It's like a dagger was thrown directly to my heart, I don't think you understand this feeling!" I

6 - You claim I'm your mate?

CHAPTER 6By the time I awoke, it was already so dark and I caught two pairs of eyes staring down at me, the emotion present in their eyes is what I can describe with just a word. Worry. They were worried about me. Mason was worried about me!"You're awake, you scared us both." Mom Kayla said. I looked around and wondered how I was in my room. The last time I was alive, I was in mom's room so how am I in my room and on my bed? "Mason carried you." Mom answered my unasked question and I blushed."I'm sorry..." He said and I got shocked. What just happened right now? Did the cold Mason Israel Maxson just apologize to me? This was his first apology to me in my whole life since I knew who Mason was. I stared at him and I could see the sincerity in his eyes."Let me leave you two to settle your differences." Mom Kayla said and left my room leaving me alone with Mason. I have never been left alone with Mason and it was dark. A blush crept on my cheeks as some perverted thoughts ran through m

7 - First kiss

CHAPTER 7I raised my head so that my lips were inches close to his. And just like that, in a heartbeat, his warm lips caught mine, kissing me, claiming me, making me feel a sudden surge of electricity rushing through my body. This was it. This was heaven. I was kissing Mason and it was my first kiss! My love took away my first kiss! My mate! And my dream man! I wrapped my hands round his neck, bring him more closer to me, as I kissed him back, hungrily, as if he was my last meal before going to heaven. As I kissed him, I decided to explore, his bare muscular chest and broad back that I had always fallen in love with. This was my chance, to touch and explore it to my heart content. And I did while still kissing him senseless. He disengage his lips from mine and traced kisses down my neck, to my collarbone, lingering there, biting me, marking me, making me burn for him more and more and more. And then, I did something I hadn't done ever in my entire life, I moaned. I freaking moaned due

8 - You mean nothing to me!

CHAPTER 8The sound of the alarm once again blared through my ears making me throw cuss words at it. It was damn annoying. "Remember, Nicole, wake up!" My annoying wolf, aka Nicky, reminded me once again."Ugh! Have I not woken up?" I asked her even though I knew what she meant."You know what I mean Nicole, stop playing dumb." She shot and I rolled my eyes."Fine ma'am... But I can't promise you anything, not after knowing how Mason's lips feel..." I moaned as I remembered what transpired between us yesterday."Stop thinking dirty, he's our mate, yes... But he has to accept us first, I don't want our heart breaking to pieces over and over again!""Fine, fine! It won't. I'm positive Mason would accept us now, don't you remember how his lips moved in sync with ours?...""Nicole!" Nicky protested but I didn't care, she would thank me later when Mason finally accepts us and I just feel it was so soon."I won't and I don't think it's so soon either." Nicky replied to my thoughts and I fro

9 - Your male weapon

CHAPTER 9"You... You say what?" I stuttered, quite shocked at the words Mason had just said."You heard me right Nicole, don't make me repeat my words, Now get out of here, this instant!" He roared angrily, however, I didn't budge."What did I ever do to you, Mason? Why do you hate me so much?" I mustered the courage to finally ask him the question that had been eating my mind for years.Mason didn't answer me, he just stared at me, his expression blank and passionless. This was what I disliked about Mason, he knew how to envelop his feelings well. "Mason, answer me...""I don't hate you..." He finally spoke out, "I just don't harbour any feelings for you in my heart, whether hate or like, I won't waste my feelings on you." He stated making me tongue-tied. I didn't know what to do anymore, but I knew I was able to fall, so I held the door to hold my stance. His words sounded so painful, thus, making tears itch my eyes before it finally flowed out mercilessly. This guy was so heartless

10 - His genuine smile

CHAPTER 10If confusion was a human, then it would definitely be me. I stared at Mom Kayla, totally confused as to why she would say such a thing. "Why?" Mason asked the same question I was tempted to ask."She knows why." Mom Kayla said and I became confused once again. Did I know why?"Me?" I asked Mom Kayla, not wanting confusion to disrupt my mental health. "How?" Mason shot another dark look at me, as if not believing that I also didn't know what mom Kayla meant by me knowing why."Your admission, remember?" Mom Kayla said and I remembered. "Oh!" I exclaimed, it was true, I had gotten admission to a university in the city."You got admission?" Mason asked and I nodded."Yeah." I replied him. Now that I had gotten admission and would also be moving to the city with him, would he now see me as a city girl?"Which school?" He asked, quite amused as if not still believing."Everest University." I said feeling so proud of myself, that was when I caught something, a smile—a genuine sm
