Nyx’s POV

Startled by my words, Eva stops all her movement and looks at me, fear and tension evident in her eyes.

I signal her to sit back. She does accordingly. I’m already clenching my fist for fear that I might lose control and kill her. Yes, this can totally happen.

“Eva, there’s one thing that you need to explain. Why did the emergency happen exactly after you poisoned me?” I cross my arms and examine her expression closely while I speak, trying to tell whether she’s going to lie or not.

“What do you mean?” Eva looks at me in disbelief.

I sneer, “Should I make it clearer? Amelia, the rogues attack the pack at the time that fits them the best and ambush me at the right place. What role did you play in this?”

She looks at me with her eyes wide, as if she can’t believe my eyes.

So she’s playing the victim now. If it wasn’t for her, things wouldn’t have come to this.
