Chapter 7

Amelia’s POV

Two years ago, I was in huge financial trouble. I worked for a bastard and he didn’t pay me. Then I was ill and in bad need of surgery. But I didn’t have money for it. I couldn’t even cover for my meals. That’s the darkest time of my life.

I got nothing to lose, so I contacted a loan shark, old George.

The surgery was successful. I tried my best to return the money and fill the high interests. I thought as long as I paid the debt in time, I wouldn’t get into trouble. But I was too naïve. They were a bunch of greedy thugs. They knew that I was a parentless girl, so they kept asking for more. I couldn’t take it anymore, so I sought revenge, and I succeeded. That was another story. I don’t know exactly what happened to them, but I know that I won’t be bothered anymore.

But now…Damn!

Old George’s laughter stings my ears. I’m in the middle of nowhere. They get a car, and they are a bunch of men. While I’m alone and I have nothing. Even my phone is dead.
