Amelia’s POV

Another clerk comes over and eyes her. Then they start to whisper while covering their mouths. From time to time, they look at me and gloat.

This makes me feel very bad. I’m the mate of the alpha, and even the clerks know something I don’t.

“What party? What are you talking about?” I ask them.

They exchange a look and lower their heads, keeping silent and refusing to give me an answer.

This irritates me. “As the mate of the alpha of your mate, I’m asking you, what party are you talking about?”

A clerk raises her head reluctantly, “It’s the full moon ceremony party. It’s the most important event of the pack and everyone…”

Suddenly, another clerk nudges her.

She immediately “I mean, most of the pack members will join the party.”

And Nyx is definitely there. But he told me that’s an important meeting. Why didn’t he just tell me it was a party? Why did he lie to me?
