Once a proud Luna of a thriving Pack, Amalthea's life went up in a flame of lies, when she was framed for a crime she didn't commit– Adultery. Betrayed by those she trusted, Amalthea is stripped of her title, her dignity, and forced into the hands of the Lycan King as nothing but a tool to secure his bloodline. The Lycan Kingdom has no place for weaklings, and being wolfless puts her at a disadvantage. In this new world, friends aren't really friends, and foes may not be foes. Can she rise above all this and prove that she can be more? Or will she get consumed by the forces at play here?

Whoosh! A bucket of ice cold water was poured on my already freezing body, making my lungs seize as I gasped sharply, and jerked upright, coughing and trembling. “Get up!” The guard barked, as he stepped into my cell. “It's judgement day.” A bitter smile spread across my lips. “Psycho,” the guard muttered and dragged me to my feet, my bones screaming in protest. I bit back a groan, and he pushed me out of the cell. “Move!” He ordered, and I began walking like my limbs don’t really belong to me and each step is a negotiation rather than an order. I blinked a few times trying to adjust to the brightness of the sun, as we got outside. I hadn't felt the warmth of the sun in weeks, and I must say it felt heavenly. A car pulled up in front of us seconds later. I got in, and was driven straight to the general Pack hall. I stumbled as the guard kept shoving me forward through the hall. The Pack members whispered amongst themselves, and I could tell they have no idea what's going on. As we got to the front of the hall, the guard forcefully pulled me down to my knees, which only increased their whispering, as they all wondered why the Pack's Luna was being treated like trash. Fredrick was nowhere in sight, and I couldn't help but wonder where he was. After what felt like an eternity, the aura in the hall shifted, and the hall fell silent. Without being told, I knew Frederick just came in. I forced myself to look up and my eyes landed on Frederick. His eyes were filled with the same disdain they've held for me, the moment he walked in on me half naked with another man. As Fredrick took slow imposing steps forward, his eyes were on anywhere but me. “F-Fredrick,” I called out in a hoarse voice as he got close to where I knelt down, but as expected, he acted like I was invisible. I grabbed the hem of his robe to get his attention. “P-please–” Pow! The words had barely left my lips when Fredrick gave me a deafening backhanded slap. “How dare you lay those filthy hands on me?!” He growled, and before I could make sense of anything, Fredrick grabbed me by my neck, and lifted me off the floor like I weighed nothing. My feet dangled, as he lifted me into the air, his grip tightening every second as his eyes darkened. “Fredrick,” I whispered, clawing weakly at his hand, as my body began to tremble, and black spots began to dot my vision. Uncontrollable tears streamed down my cheeks, as life slowly slipped out of me. My hands fell to my sides, and I closed my eyes, waiting for death to embrace me. “Fredrick!” Lilian's voice echoed, and my body crumpled onto the cold floor like a sack of potatoes. The pain that shot through my body in that moment was nothing compared to the pain in my heart. Fresh tears streamed down my cheeks faster than a heartbeat, as the weight of my new reality once again came crashing down on me, and all for something I was clearly innocent of. **************** FEW WEEKS EARLIER************ My head felt like it was being split in halves by the time I stirred awake. I don't know if I'm overthinking this, but it feels like I'm being punished for last night's celebration. I gently massaged my temples, hoping to ease off some of the pains I was feeling, but it was useless. There was so many things to do, and if I stay in bed a second longer I’d be more useless than I already felt. I was about to get out of bed, when a strong arm snaked around my waist, pulling me closer, his breath fanning my neck. “Fredrick,” I whispered, as I allowed myself to relax into his embrace, my body still heavy with sleep. “Good morning, beautiful.” That wasn't— wasn’t Fredrick. I twisted sharply in the bed and found myself face to face with a total stranger. “What the hell?” I scrambled out of bed, only to realize I was putting on a lingerie. I quickly grabbed the sheets and wrapped it around me body. “Who the hell are you?” I demanded, “What do you mean babe?” The man got out of bed, making his way towards me. “You brought me here, remember?” a smirk tugged at the corners of his lips. “Mathias!” I called out to my personal guard, as I made my way to the door. There's no point trying to get anything out of this man, he's delusional, and a good torture would get him talking. As soon as I grabbed the door knob, the door swung open, revealing Frederick with a bouquet in his hand and a bright smile on his lips. I sighed in relief. “Fredrick there's–” I stopped mide sentence as Fredrick looked past me, his eyes darkened as it landed on the half naked man in our room. “Fredrick I–” My voice cracked, but before I could say another word, Fredrick was already across the room, grabbing the man by his throat as he slammed him against the wall. “You had the guts to sleep with my wife?!” Fredrick growled, his voice dripping with raw fury. “On my bed?!” “N-no-” I rushed over to Fredrick, trying to explain. “Fredrick nothing happened between us. I don't even know–” “Don't you dare take another step, Thea!” Fredrick glared at me. I stopped dead in my tracks, tears welling up in my eyes. “What's happening?” Lilianand Allen rushed in, her eyes darting between Fredrick choking a stranger who was putting on nothing but boxers, and back to me who stood in a corner in tears, putting on nothing but lingerie. I'm sorry,” the man managed to croak out. “Amalthea invited me in–” “That's a lie!” My voice came out as a strangled cry. “I don't even know this man—” “How long has this been going on?” Fredrick's voice was filled with so much hurt, that my heart ached. “A couple of months.” A deafening thunder-like growl rippled out of Frederick, his Alpha Aura suffocating everyone in the room. “Fredrick,” Lilianwhimpered, her face turning pale as she clutched her throat, struggling to breathe. “Alpha,” Allen stepped forward cautiously and placed his hands on Fredrick's. “Let him go, please. You're going to kill him.” It took several agonizing seconds, but Allen finally managed to pry Fredrick’s hand from the man’s throat. The man collapsed to the floor and greedily sucked in air. “Fredrick–” I stopped mid-sentence, as his face was void of the love I once knew. His gaze was cold and murderous, and it wasn't directed at the stranger anymore– it was directed at me. “Lock them up,” Frederick walked past me like I didn't exist. “Separately,” he added, before slamming the door shut behind him.Nicholson's POV "You acted rashly, like you always do when it comes to Thea." Callum said from his place by the corner of the room."She was contemplating leaving with him." I reminded him but he just looked at me flatly."Did she say she was the one reading those books?" He questioned."She denied it." I revealed."And do you have any evidence pointing that she was actually reading the book, except for the fact that it was placed on her reading table?" He probed."No." I admitted reluctantly."Then why are you so adamant to pin this on her?" Callum crossed his hands in front of him."Because I don't trust her." I growled."Why? She hasn't done anything to deserve your distrust." He pointed out and I knew his words were true.Amalthea had done absolutely nothing to make me distrust her."Have you for a second thought that maybe she was framed just like the last time with the werebears?" Callum quirked a brow at me.If I was being honest, the thought had crossed my mind but I had imme
Amalthea's POV "I would have suggested a walk but the last time Nic saw us together he almost bit my head off." Alpha Sebastian chuckled, walking farther into the library."What do you want?" I asked him, resuming my position by the window side."I want to talk to you." He shrugged.I looked away from him and I wrapped my arms around myself."Have you thought about my proposition?" Sebastian broke the silence between us."Alpha-" I began."Seb. I told you already to drop the formalities." He interrupted me."Seb..." I began, looking at him pointedly."Why did you even want me? Why me?" I asked."Because you are pretty, you are smart and I can't help but feel drawn to you." He explained so casually like it was the easiest thing in the world."How can it be that easy for you?" I asked."It isn't, trust me but my pack needs a Luna and it doesn't hurt that I find you attractive." He revealed."If I accept, and that is a very big if, what happens when you find your fated mate?" I asked."
Amalthea's POV I stormed out of my room and headed towards the library. I didn't care that I left Nic in my room, all I wanted was to put some distance between us.The nerve he had to accuse me of something I was totally clueless about. My hands clenched by my sides as I recalled the accusations he hauled at me.The man was so infuriating and it was almost as if he was constantly waiting for a chance to harass me, a chance to find fault and accuse me of things I knew nothing about.I banged open the library door and shut it behind me.I growled lowly, wishing I could hit something, anything...preferably Nicholson, to relieve the anger which I felt within me."I knew you'd come after a few minutes." Callum's voice startled me."You scared me Callum, what are you doing here?" I asked him as I placed my hand to my chest to calm my racing heart."I was waiting for you." He shrugged as though it was totally normal."How did you know I would come here?""Once Nic stormed to your room I kne
Nicholson's POV Mikayla led Callum and I towards the library and no matter how much Callum tried to inquire what this was about, she remained tight-lipped."Why do you trust her so blindly?" Callum muttered to me as we walked a few steps behind Mikayla."Because she has proven herself valuable to me and this pack." I shrugged.Callum and Mikayla didn't like each other, it was no secret and they expressed it in the way they communicated whenever they were in the same space."My gut doesn't trust her." Callum told me, giving me a side glance."That's because you don't like her." I retorted."It's more than that...I can't place it now but there's just something about her." He continued and I rolled my eyes."Has she done anything to garner your suspicion?" I asked."Well no, but I trust my gut and my wolf Nic and none of them seem to like her." He explained."I won't tell you not to trust your gut, neither can I tell you your suspicions are valid. All I can say is that Mikayla is very v
Nicholson's POV "The werebears sightings have significantly dropped but there are still a few lurking around." Callum informed me.Rather than being happy, I was skeptical. What were they planning? Why had they taken a step back? That meant they were up to something."Were you able to get the ones who are still lurking around to talk?" I asked."They kept on saying the same thing." He shook his head and I knew what he was talking about without him having to mention it.Amalthea...all they ever said was that they wanted her."What do you think they want from her?" Callum questioned.I had run through every possible scenario but none of them could explain how Amalthea could be linked to them."I don't know." I replied gruffly.I hated being in the dark, I hated this guessing game."But we have to find out." I continued."How will we possibly do that? The werebears are too loyal to their cause, they won't tell us anything." Callum reminded me."We'll find a way...we have to." I rubbed
Amalthea's POV "Train your reflexes, you need to be sharp and you need to know exactly how to act without wasting much time on thoughts." Mikayla explained right before she sprung at me.My hands instinctively came up to shield my face but she changed course last minute and jabbed at my side.I grunted and took a step back before getting back into position."You need to think about what your opponent would possibly do and be ready to counter it at every moment. Watch them like a hawk." Mikayla said in-between jabs she threw at me. I tried my best to follow her advice and I was able to block some of her attacks."Let's take a break." She announced after a while.I immediately plopped onto the floor, grateful for a chance to rest as my lungs burned within me."You are getting better. Some more training will definitely do you good and with time you'll get a hang of it." She encouraged me and I gave her a small smile.I was really glad I was training under Mikayla despite my initial hesi
Amalthea's POV I sprang away from Sebastian with the speed of lightning and to my absolute horror, it was Nicholson that stood in front of us with a murderous expression on his face.I gulped as his eyes looked from Sebastian to me.I opened my mouth to explain but no words were forthcoming. What could I possibly say to explain what was obviously about to happen?"Nic, we were just talking about you." Sebastian broke the awkward silence between us."Were you?" Nick furrowed a brow."I think Jade needs me." I muttered."I doubt it, she's with Callum." Nicholson cut in, blocking my only escape route."I was just telling Thea I am in search of my Luna." Sebastian announced and I wished the ground would open up and swallow me then and there."I thought you were here to finalize the peace pact between our packs?" Nicholson asked."Call it killing two birds with one stone. The opportunity revealed itself and I couldn't resist." Sebastian shrugged. How could he be so oblivious as not to no
Amalthea's POV "I think Callum needs me." Jade announced, rising to her feet."What?" I looked at her in disbelief while she looked anywhere but at me."I'll see you later Thea." She said with a tight-lipped smile and zoomed out the door.Jade had just thrown me to the wolves."Your friend is very subtle." Alpha Sebastian muttered and I slowly faced him."Alpha Sebastian." I rose from my chair."Just Seb is fine." He retorted and I blanked. The use of his nickname would imply a level of intimacy between us."I don't think that would be proper Alpha." I pointed out."I insist." He replied with a smile.I nodded, not having a word to say in response, as the level of intensity in his eyes when he looked at me was making this whole conversation awkward. It's either he's oblivious to that fact or he simply doesn't care."Did you need a book?" I asked, breaking the silence."No." He answered."I wanted to talk to you." He announced.I blinked. He chuckled. "You don't have to seem so surpri
Amalthea's POV "Where have you been?" I asked Jade when she walked into the library. She remained silent and leaned against the closed library door with a dreamy sigh as she clutched her chest."Jade?" I called out to her and slowly her eyes met mine. "Are you alright?" "I'm better than alright Thea." She composed herself and walked towards me."What has you in such a good mood?" I questioned."I'm always in a good mood." She replied almost defensively and I knew something was up."Hmm, where have you been? You were meant to be here an hour ago." I queried.A blush slowly crept up her face and my lips parted in shock."Jade, why are you blushing?" I shut the book in front of me and placed it on the side table."I'm not blushing." She muttered attempting to hide behind her hair."You are clearly blushing Jade. Spit it out, what happened?" I probbed. She remained silent and I waited."It's alright if you don't want to talk about it now, I just-" I began to explain."I met someone." S
