Amelia’s POV

I check the message. Still no reply.

I don’t believe a word Eva says. But I can tell from Eva’s reaction that Nyx is fine.

He must be very busy now. He’s out on a trip and an emergency happens. There must be a lot for him to handle.

But I hate that I have to know it from a third person, especially a woman I hate.

It sucks.

Anyway, I’ll just come back home and wait.

After taking a quick shower, I change into my sleeping gown, lie on the sofa in the living room, and pull a blanket over my body.

I need to know it immediately when he comes back. I also need sleep. So I’ll just wait for him in the living room.

Because of fatigue, I fall sound asleep very quickly.

Somehow my forehead feels wet. Someone kisses me.

Is it a dream?

I slowly open my eyes. Nyx’s face is what I see first.

Nyx is back! I’m not dreaming, am I?

Seeing that I’m awake, he pulls me into his arms tightly and kisses me on my lips.

I wrap my hands around his body.

All the tension and worry for the whole night
