Elena’s POV

I stood there, frozen in shock, as the phone slipped from my grasp. Tears flowed down my cheeks like rivers, and my body trembled with a mix of fear and anger.

Daniel's concerned voice pierced through my haze. "Elena, what happened? Who was that?"

I tried to speak, but my voice was barely a whisper. "Alex...he knows about my parents."

Daniel's expression turned grim. "What did he say?"

I took a deep breath, trying to recount the conversation. "He said he knows the truth about their death...and he wants to meet me to tell me."

Daniel's eyes narrowed. "We'll go to the police. This is harassment."

But I shook my head, feeling a sense of resignation. "No, Daniel. I need to face him. I need to know the truth."

Daniel's face softened, and he pulled me into a gentle hug. "We'll face him together, then. You're not alone in this."

I nodded, feeling a small sense of comfort. But the tears kept flowing, and my heart remained heavy with foreboding.
