Elena’s POV

I walked into the house, feeling a sense of exhaustion wash over me. I had been running on adrenaline for weeks, and it was finally catching up with me. I decided to take a nap, hoping to clear my head and recharge.

As I lay in bed, I couldn't shake off the feeling of doubt that had been lingering in my mind. What was Daniel hiding? And why was he being so secretive?

But for now, I pushed those thoughts aside and focused on rest. I slept for a few hours, waking up feeling slightly better.

When I walked into the living room, Daniel was sitting on the couch, watching TV. He smiled when he saw me, and I forced a smile back.

"Hey, how was your day?" he asked, patting the couch next to him.
