Elena’s POV

I walked into the house, feeling a sense of exhaustion wash over me. I had been running on adrenaline for weeks, and it was finally catching up with me. I decided to take a nap, hoping to clear my head and recharge.

As I lay in bed, I couldn't shake off the feeling of doubt that had been lingering in my mind. What was Daniel hiding? And why was he being so secretive?

But for now, I pushed those thoughts aside and focused on rest. I slept for a few hours, waking up feeling slightly better.

When I walked into the living room, Daniel was sitting on the couch, watching TV. He smiled when he saw me, and I forced a smile back.

"Hey, how was your day?" he asked, patting the couch next to him.

I sat down, trying to act normal. "It was fine. Just tired."

Daniel put his arm around me, pulling me close. "You've been working too hard. You need to take it easy."

I nodded, feeling a sense of unease. I didn't want to be close to him right now, not when I had so many doubts. But I didn't
