The next morning, I walked into the office, still thinking about Daniel's proposal. Phila noticed the look on my face and asked, "Hey, what's up? You look deep in thought."

I sat down at my desk and filled her in on Daniel's suggestion. "He wants us to merge our properties and make him the sole owner," I said, watching for her reaction.
