Elena’s POV

I slowly opened my eyes, groggily taking in my surroundings. Everything was still blurry, but I heard the sound of my name being called.

"Elena...Elena, can you hear me?"

I tried to respond, but my voice was hoarse and barely audible. I cleared my throat, trying again.

"D-Daniel?"

Suddenly, a familiar face came into focus. Daniel's worried expression filled my vision, and I felt a wave of relief wash over me.

"Elena, oh thank God you're awake," Daniel said, his voice trembling with emotion. "I was so scared. What happened?"

I tried to remember, but my memories were hazy. I recalled arguing with Alex, and then...nothing.

"I-I don't know," I stammered. "I remember fighting with Alex, and then I must have fallen or something."

Daniel's expression turned grim. "You fell down the stairs. Luckily, someone found you and called for help. You've been unconscious for hours."

Hours? I tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through my head, making me wince.

"Easy, Elena," Daniel said
