Elena’s POV

I quickly dialed Daniel's number, my mind racing with thoughts of the FBI's accusation. He answered on the first ring.

"Daniel, it's Elena. I need your help," I said, trying to keep my voice steady.

"What's wrong?" he asked, his tone immediately concerned.

"The FBI just called. They're investigating my company for some alleged illegal activity. I don't know what's going on or who could be behind this."

Daniel's response was immediate. "I'm on my way. Don't say anything to anyone until I get there. We'll face this together."

I nodded, even though he couldn't see me. "Okay, I'll wait for you."

I hung up the phone and tried to focus on the work in front of me, but my mind was a jumble of worries. Who could be trying to sabotage me? And what did they think I had done?

Before long, Daniel burst through the door, his face set in a determined expression. "Let's get to the bottom of this," he said, his eyes scanning the room.

I stood up, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. Wi
