Chapter 71

Ethan's POV

I knocked softly on the door again. "Are you done?" I asked her who had been in there for five minutes.

Unlike before, I no longer heard the sound of water running inside. I didn't know what she was doing, but I was starting to worry about her. I knew the night was new for her, if I had known I would have been a little gentler with her, though I also questioned how I could control the natural urge in me to be more human.

I had gone wild when she kissed me, and it was hard for me to think usually, to think of anything else about her. All I knew was that I wanted her, and she wanted me, so while she was still breathing correctly, I kept at it, looking into her eyes until they signaled me with a weakened look.

"Sarah, are you okay?" I asked again, but I did not get an answer.

My feet moved in place, restlessly waiting for her answer. Once again, I was about to knock just as she opened her door, and I held my hand in the air. "What's wrong? Something happened?"
