Sarah’s pov

"Do you want to go home together?" Donna stood beside my desk and looked at me, waiting.

I glanced at her quickly, then looked back down at my screen and acted busy. "You can go home first. I still have a lot of things to do." I reasoned to avoid going home with her because I had more than one reason not to be dropped off by her.

Her somewhat disappointed look made me feel a bit guilty. "Alright, finish your work quickly, and don't stay up too late."

I smiled while nodding my head. "Sure, be careful on the road."

After he left, I finished the last file I was still working on, packed up my stuff, and walked from a different door to them. Ethan's was in a different parking lot from the others. While waiting in the elevator, I called Ethan.

"I just finished with my work," I told him about the delay, as well as to ask if he was done with his surgery today.

"Then go straight home from there," Ethan answered casually at the other end.
