“Do you not have a good relationship with James?” I turned to him as he opened the door for me.

He glanced at me briefly. “Why do you ask?” He guided me inside carefully, still faithfully holding my hand and supporting my body.

I shook my head lightly. “It’s nothing, I’m just curious. You two don’t seem to communicate well. Every time you start talking, it sounds like you're trying to punch and counter each other, then move on to the next attack.”
