Sarah's POV

"They're really annoying," Ethan said beside me, his complaint sounding more like he sympathised with them and tried to cheer me up by cursing them.

I nodded my head in agreement at his words, which did speak the truth. "They don't seem to have anything else to do but annoy."

Ethan led me over. He separated himself from the crowd that had led him to scatter away from me. He handed me a drink that he had gotten from the waiter, who was offering a wide variety of cocktails there. Then, I heard someone speaking on loudspeaker at the podium in the centre of the party.

All eyes turned to the man speaking. He first opened with a greeting and all manner of pleasantries until he got to the reason why the party was being held. "This party is being held by the Murrey family for a purpose. They want us to witness and celebrate the election of the heir to the Murrey family."
