Chapter 6: Coincidence

LEAH

My lips slowly parted open as I look at the familiar figure approaching me from behind. Rays of sunset casted a glow on his face, making his handsome face look gentler than his usual cold and domineering demeanor. But there was something in his eyes that made my heart pound loudly in my chest.

“Mr. Alistaire.” My voice came out as a whisper. It even sounded so shaky that I wanted to pinch myself for being so distracted right in front of him.

He stopped right in front of me, and I can feel my nerves tingling under his gaze.

“There’s no need for formalities,” his eyes remained on my face. “Just call me Hudson.”

“Ah, yes…” Avoiding his gaze, I brushed my hand on my other arm, trying to relieve the goosebumps erupting on my skin just after hearing his deep, husky voice.

“It’s a coincidence to see you here.”

“Indeed, it is.” I laughed a little, though it turned out as an awkward response on my part that I had to purse my lips after out of embarrassment.

Silence enveloped us. Only the sound of waves by the shore and the gentle breeze could be heard in the surrounding. I kept glancing around, not daring to meet his gaze.

Though I usually don’t get this much flustered in front of other people, something about this man is evoking different emotions in me.

“You look nervous.”

My eyes slightly widened when I heard his remark. I immediately stared back at him, my lips parting in denial. “I’m not.”

“Really?” He chuckled so sexily that it sent shivers down my spine. He took a step forward, closing the distance between us which made me back out a little.

But my body almost fell backwards when I felt my feet step on a rock. Just as I was about to fall, I suddenly felt a strong pair of arms wrap me from behind.

“Careful, angel.” Brixton’s familiar voice whispering in my ears was enough to shock my whole soul out.

The familiar sparks erupting on my waist where he kept me lock in his embrace made my body feel hot. But as realization creep in, heat crawled up from my neck up to my cheeks as I scurried away from his hold.

“You scared her, Hud.”

“Isn’t it you, who just…” Hudson snapped back to Brixton but then his eyes fell on me as I tried to stand straight on the ground, regaining my composure. “Are you alright?”

“Y-yes,” Out of embarrassment, my voice came in barely like a whisper. Then my eyes fell on the two men in front of me.

The two of them look really the same, there were only subtle differences such as their clothes… and the color of their eyes.

“Like what you see?” Brixton’s teasing voice snapped me out of my thoughts. He was smirking playfully at me and it made me blush in shame realizing how I was openly gawking at the two of them.

Damn it! I need to keep my composure in front of them. Why am I even acting like this?

“I know a good place nearby, would you like to come with us?”

Gears were turning in my head as I processed Brixton’s words. Was he asking me to come… with the two of them?

The thought of going together with them somewhat perplexed me, but butterflies seem to run in m stomach as I look at their handsome figures.

Damn, am I getting tempted with their appearance?

“Let’s grab some snack, if you’d like too.” Hudson added. My eyes locked into his, and in an instant, I felt like getting so lost under his beautiful gaze. I didn’t expect that he would invite me too.

But why so suddenly?

His blue orbs felt awfully familiar… As if I’ve been used to those very same orbs staring at me for a long time now.

My heart pounded loudly in my chest.

“I’m getting jealous here, you know.” Brixton’s deep, yet playful tone snap me out of my thoughts. Once again, I could feel my cheeks burning from shame.

Oh my goddess! How many times will I get distracted under their presence?

“So, will you come with us?” Brixton’s lips curled when my gaze finally landed on him. His eyes carrying an unknown glint while he looks at me.

My palms suddenly turned sweaty. I don’t know why his eyes look so familiar to me too. Seeing the expectant gaze on those green orbs suddenly reminded me of someone.

Bella, my daughter.

“I’m sorry,” I lowered my gaze, nervously avoiding their gaze. “But I have to go.”

Without waiting for their response, I turned and hurried back to the hotel with my heart racing. I was having a premonition in my heart, but my thoughts weren’t very clear at the moment.

I just know that I needed to get away. I needed to think. And under those two men’s presence, I know I wouldn’t be able to do that. Their presence keeps evoking foreign feelings in me.

But to top it all, I suddenly had a feeling that I had already met them a long time ago…

~~~
BACK in our hotel room, I was carrying the already sleeping Bella with Jane repeating her apologies to me.
“I really got distracted for a bit and didn’t realize she already walked away from us.”
“It’s okay, Jane.” I nodded at her in understanding, though my heart was quite filled with worry after knowing that Bella went missing earlier. Thank god and she was found back safely.
I kissed my daughter’s forehead as I place her on the bed. Seeing the two little guilty boys following behind me, my heart softened as I crouched down to face them.
“It’s alright, darlings.” I pinched both their cheeks at the same time. “It’s not your fault that little sister went missing. Now, let’s go to sleep so we can go swimming tomorrow, okay?”
“Okay mom.”
I chuckled, my heart filled with instant tenderness after hearing both of them spoke at the same time. The two of them looked really alike and even acts quite the same sometimes.
And I couldn’t help being reminded by Hudson and Brixton too. Is it just a conincidence?
I tried so hard to forget the eventful incident that happened this afternoon, but as I fell asleep, my mind seemed to get suddenly pulled into some unknown surroundings.
I find myself in a bed with my body feeling so hot all over. I could feel tingles and spark erupting on my skin from someone’s touch…
No, I realized was on the bed with two men. Naked and shrouded in pleasure as I felt their hot breath grazing every inch of my skin while I was moaning like a mess.
Suddenly, I opened my eyes and met their gaze. The other man had green orbs, while the other has blue ones. Before I knew it, the seemingly dark surroundings slowly casted a white glow on their figure above me.
And when their hazy appearance became suddenly clear, I felt out of breath. My heart raced so fast as I gaped at the two familiar faces looking at me with their eyes full of desire.
It was Hudson and Brixton.
