Chapter 10: Jealous

My heart sank. I was feeling mixed emotions in my chest seeing Brixton with the same woman from the meeting earlier. I don’t even know why I was feeling this way, but the sight from the two of them was like a strong punch in my gut.

Without thinking, I turn on my heel and left the area, not wanting to be noticed.

As I walked back to the ground floor, I was feeling quite absentminded. I couldn’t ignore the bitterness dripping off my chest and it left me so much confused and torn that I didn’t notice bumping into another person.

“Ms. Knights, is everything alright?” The man I bumped into was Mr. Collins, Hudson’s secretary.

“I’m sorry for that.” I blinked my eyes and refocused, attempting to steady my voice. “I just realized I left my car keys in Mr. Allistaire’s room. Could you please retrieve them for me?”

“Uhm, may I ask whom you are referring to?” He looked quite confused, and that’s how I realized that there was indeed two Mr. Allistaire on this company.

“Mr. Brixton Allistair
