Episode 31

Rufus's POV

When i return to the villa in the evening, Selena was not downstairs. I walked to the butler and asked about Selena.

"Is Selena at home?" I asked, to which the butler nodded and pointed towards the upstairs, saying, "The madam locked herself in her workplace as soon as she arrived."

Nodding, I made my way upstairs. I knocked on the door of her room.

"Come in," her voice sounded.

I entered the room and saw Selena seated on a chair, her fingers on her laptop.

As she turned around and saw me, she greeted me with a smile. "You're back," she said.

My throat moved, and a certain emotion stirred within my dark eyes. I responded with a low "hmm."

Suddenly, Selena asked, "Are you hungry? I can get you something to eat!"

I didn't respond immediately. Eventually, I replied casually, "I'm not hungry."

She blinked, slightly perplexed, and asked, "Then what's the matter?"

"Nothing," I replied, pausing briefly before asking further, "You... don't have anything to tell me?
