Selena's POV

I rested my head on Rufus's chest and asked, "What was the situation at the border?"

He sighed, "It's being handled. Apparently, one of the Alphas was behind it."

"Oh!" I mumbled, wishing things could just go back to how they used to be. I really didn’t want this power.

"Williams was here," I swallowed and then added, "And I almost burn him to death,"

"That mother fu*ker was here?" Rufus growled lowly.

I looked up at him shyly, my eyelashes fluttering, and a playful smile crept onto my face, making Rufus let out a low rumble from his chest.

I didn’t say anything, but I reached up and slipped my hands under his shirt, gently tracing my fingers over his defined abs. I wrapped my fingers around the back of his neck, pulling his lips closer to mine.

Right then, I craved to taste him. I couldn’t understand this intense desire that had taken over me, this urgent need to have him with me all the time.
