Aurora’s POV:

“Please do not say that, Emily. You’re my daughter too. And I love you so much. This doesn’t change anything between us,” My dad said trying to placate her. He was holding her hands now.

Small bursts of jealousy welled up within me. They were very close, that much was obvious. I didn’t know how to feel about the daughter who had grown up with my father’s love for years. I was envious that they shared such a bond. I couldn’t bear it anymore and looked the other way.

“Both of you are my daughters. And I’m the happiest person on earth right now. I finally feel complete, having both of you here.” My father said and I had to look back at them again. He was stretching out his other hand at me again with a huge smile on his face. I couldn’t blame him for already having Emily. At least, it wasn’t like I’d originally thought; that he had a wife and kids.

“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you earlier. There was just too much going on and I didn’t know how you’d react to Aurora. I couldn’t

Aurora’s POVI was met face-to-face with a slight glare from Emily. Then she quickly switched up her expression to a neutral one.“It’s time for dinner.” Then she quickly glanced at my outfit. Her lips settled into a thin line. Whether out of annoyance or boredom, I couldn’t tell. “I’ll be down in a few minutes. I should change” I replied “It’s fine. It’s just going to be us at the dinner table anyway” She says quickly. “Oh… okay,” I say, stepping out of my room. She was already walking ahead and I had to hurry to catch up to her. I fell into pace behind her and we walked to the dining room quietly. It was kind of awkward but I had no idea what to say to her and she wasn’t exactly eager to communicate either. The dining room consisted of a very long table with chairs arranged around it. No expenses were spared in the furnishing of this room and everything seemed to shine as if it was recently polished. I was 90% sure I would be able to see my reflection on the walls of this place

  • The Rejected Luna   Chapter Nineteen

Aurora’s POVIn the end, I decided to go back to my room and finish the book I started yesterday. I decided against exploring the pack land on my own, I didn’t want to risk getting lost. Then again, I didn’t know anyone and I was sure people would notice I was new and ask questions. I wasn’t sure if my dad had announced who I was yet. If he hadn’t, my story would seem dubious and arouse attention. The last thing I needed right now was attention. Now that I was alone with my thoughts, I also needed to plan what I was going to do next. I wondered if I would have to undergo Alpha training or be prepared for royalty or something like a prep school. It was only dawning on me now that I might have to take over from my father. Honestly, I couldn’t see myself becoming the leader of a pack. Female Alphas were rare but not totally unheard of. I was thinking too much about this, what if Emily was next in line instead? I was content to simply be my father’s daughter. The hours trickled by sl

Aurora’s POVI must have stared at my reflection for about ten minutes before shaking myself back to reality. My hands seemed to be permanently attached to my silver streaks. I kept touching it as if that would give me a clue as to how this happened. None of the thoughts going through my head explained how I grew white hair overnight. Oh no, was this a sign of aging? Was I aging prematurely? I didn’t even get my wolf yet and I was already getting signs of old age. Or Was this an Alpha thing? But I didn’t know of any young Alphas with whitish, or silver hair. I sighed for what might have been the thousandth time this week. How was I even going to explain this to anyone? Yesterday, I had gone to bed with full, albeit plain, black hair, and now a little less than half of my hair was white. I was going to have to cover my hair till I could come up with a suitable explanation. I ended up picking out a large scarf from my wardrobe to match my dress and conceal my hair. Then I went downst

  • The Rejected Luna   Chapter Twenty One

Aurora’s POVSomeone cleared his throat loudly and just like that, the moment was gone. I awkwardly cut the ribbon with Emily and smiled. After that, everyone applauded and moved on with the mini-ceremony. I was still left feeling unsettled from my encounter with the woman. Why had she called me a healer?I looked at my dad trying to gauge his expression. His face gave nothing away. I was glad the ceremony was over, people were now going into the clinic to look around. Clinics or Hospitals were sort of a rarity in our world since adult werewolves rarely ever got sick; I’m sure the clinic would mainly serve children, teens, and expectant mothers. While young pups are growing, the occasional accident can’t be completely avoided and because they don’t have their wolf yet, healing time is much slower. In every Pack, there was a healer who helped the young ones when they were wounded. From what I’ve heard and seen, healing powers are hereditary and are usually restricted to a particular

  • The Rejected Luna   Chapter Twenty Two

Aurora’s POVWhen we returned back to the clinic, the crowd had fizzled out. Only a handful of people remained scattered about the premises. My dad and Alice decided to go around greeting the few people left. In no time, I was descended upon by Emily and her suspicious glare. “Where were you? And my dad?” She asks. ‘He’s my dad too’ I thought. I was already starting to get attached to Dad and her words sounded like a sole claim to our joint parent. “We were just talking,” I answered while looking around for a possible escape. “Talking about what?” She presses on further. “Just talking,” I answer again with a sweet smile plastered on my face and a nonchalant shrug. Emily’s eyes are nearly closed from how intense her eyes squint suspiciously. Then she walks away without a word. I let out a breath I didn’t even know I was holding, wondering what to make of her interrogations. -We left the clinic about an hour later and drove to a white three-story building at the edge of town.

  • The Rejected Luna   Chapter Twenty Three

A few weeks later…Emily Stanford looked across the table at her adoptive father and ‘sister’. They played the role of the perfect happy family well. One could say she and her father had been a happy family until this imposter, Aurora, had come and changed their dynamics. In the few weeks she had been here, she had already made herself a permanent fixture in their lives. Everyone now referred to her as the Alpha’s daughter while she was simply ‘Emily’ She clucked her tongue at the thought, that didn’t sit well with her one bit. All her dreams of one day becoming the ruler of this Pack were now shattered. She’d be damned if she relinquished her position easily to this little usurper. Blood daughter or not, she had been the one by the old man’s side all these years. Her real parents had been taken away from her at such a young age, it had been a miracle that the Alpha had taken pity on her and even loved her like his own. She was grateful for that but she had also given her life up f

  • The Rejected Luna   Chapter Twenty Four

Aurora’s POVA few weeks have passed since I started training under Alice. She has been extremely patient with me, putting me through the basics of healing. I’m starting to get the hang of it even though I can only practice on plants for now. Alice says I need to master control before I move on to healing real-life animals and our kind. This was because healing others required more energy and I could end up giving too much of my life force and harming myself, or worse, lead to my death. Yikes! Healing was kind of like a give and take process, I was simply giving out some of my strength to the weak. I had to be extremely careful and know when to stop. My life here has fallen into a predictable schedule; I wake up early and go into the garden to practice before having breakfast and then leaving for the clinic. At the clinic, I help Alice attend to the few patients we have and when we’re not busy with patients, she teaches me how to control my energy. I like to think that I’ve gotten

  • The Rejected Luna   Chapter Twenty Five

Aurora’s POV“No…no…no. This is crazy!” I say, snapping out of whatever spell I'd been under. “I can’t marry you, Michael”“Why not?” Michael said, still on his knees. He looked very surprised. “Michael, please stand up. I can’t do this. Please stop this…” I said. Michael reluctantly got up and pocketed the little box. “Why are you doing this Aurora? Is this some form of payback for what I did to you?” Gone were any traces of emotion in his voice. My heart hardened as I remembered my humiliation and pain. “As much as I would love to get back at you, that’s not what this is about. This doesn’t….it just doesn’t feel right!”“It feels very right to me. I traveled such a long distance to get to you of course it feels right. But I’ll respect your decision for now, that doesn’t mean I won’t try to convince you every time I’m here,” Michael says. I was suddenly feeling genuinely sorry for Michael, he seemed so sincere that my determination almost waivered. Was I throwing away my chance

  • The Rejected Luna   Bonus Chapter.

Unknown POV: (3 years later) Klaus and Aurora sat by the veranda, looking out at the field while young children played around, young children about their children’s age. Aurora was happy and her heart felt full… but somehow, somewhere deep inside her heart, she felt uneasy. She didn’t know what was wrong but she did know that she was uncomfortable. Her eyes wandered to where her children sat and seeing how they were still so engrossed with their toys, she smiled. “Maybe, I’m just so paranoid.” She mused, causing Klaus to turn to her. He asked her what she had said and after telling him about her thoughts, he let out a breath and muttered; “it’s been several years now, love. We’re fine now. Everyone is happy now… stop overthinking these things. The children, the pack is safe.” “But the children are too strong.” Aurora cried, “…it would take just one glance at them for an outsider to know that they’re different. They don’t even act like their mates!” “And how do you expect

Aurora’s POV:The glasses clinked as Klaus and I made a toast and while everyone sipped from our glasses, we didn’t. We only took the first sip after the toast and then poured most of the remaining contents of our drinks on the paper in the bin. It was our Prenuptial agreement. The stupid arrangement that Klaus had come up with when we first met. A smile tugged at my lips as I remembered those times and in awe of how much we’ve grown since then, I leaned into him for a hug.“Thank you,” I whispered, kissing his chest, uncaring if my red lipstick would stain his crisp white shirt. He didn’t seem to bother too as he also leaned closer, placed a kiss on my forehead, and whispered;“No, thank you, my love.”I blushed. It was the fiercest blush I have had in a while and everyone who noticed this began to laugh excitedly. At this moment, I looked around us, at my parents who were cheering and clapping at Bella while she made funny faces at David and Davina, at Jasmine who had tears stream

Aurora’s POV:I watched in curiosity as the flames lit up the evening sky, causing tons of smoke to fill the atmosphere in an almost suffocating manner. There were agonized screams coming from everywhere, but it was one from agony not from pain. Agony because a source of their livelihood was burning down, agony because a lot of money was being burnt to a crisp. Nobody was in pain, no. Klaus and I made sure no one would get hurt. While everyone had a piece of cloth or paper covering the lower parts of their face to block their nostrils from the angry fumes, I didn’t. I took it all in, giggling and happy.Klaus was standing beside me and he seemed just as pleased as I was. The only difference was that he wasn’t showing his emotions on his face. He still appeared stoic and nonchalant. One of Klaus’ soldiers held a limp Michael by his collar while he was made to watch his lifelong sweat go down the drain. He was quiet all through but his emotions were as bright as day. Tears streaked his

Aurora’s POV:My breath hitched in my throat as I watched Damon saunter into the room, brandishing a large gun on his shoulders. I saw more than a few Elders shrink away in fear and I almost barked out a laugh from how stupid they appeared doing that. However, I was quickly snapped to the present when I felt something cold against my skin and I frowned when I saw that it was the gun and that Damon was pressing it against my head.“And what is happening here?” He asked no one in particular, but his gaze was planted firmly on Klaus’ face.Without thinking, I pushed the gun away and got up, standing between Klaus and Damon. “What are you doing here?” I asked him instead, evading his question.I saw Damon’s eyes widen but I wasn’t sure if it was because he noticed that I wasn’t scared of him even with a gun or because of something else entirely. Choosing that opportunity, I stepped closer to him until we were almost standing chest to chest and whispered;“Leave… nothing here is any of you

The chatter in the room died down as soon he stepped in with his mate stalking behind him. Normally, anyone who saw them would think she was hiding behind him but that was unlike the case here. She was protecting him. She was his aide, his bodyguard, and his Luna.People knew them. Word had gotten out. She was the last of her kind. The only white wolf left in their entire world and people feared her for that. The elders who once wanted Klaus out of the throne because he wasn’t ‘fit’ now thought otherwise. With a Luna like her, you would always be fit.“King Klaus!” An old man with a boisterous voice called out. His voice rang around the room and when Aurora turned to regard him, he shrunk into his chair.Aurora always wanted to be respected, not feared. These days after a lot of people came to know what she was, she noticed that many now feared her. Those who respected her before feared and respected her now, and those who never respected her only feared her now.Right now, ignoring t

  • The Rejected Luna   Chapter One Hundred and Thirty.

Klaus’ POV: I watched her, my mate, with fascination as she wiped the sweat off her face with the back of her hand and stepped away from the now limp form of a beat-up Alpha; and I couldn’t help but feel more proud of her than I already was. I loved how she’d gotten every information she wanted out of Michael without laying a finger on him… but considering the amount of damage she’d done to him, I wasn’t sure I could still classify her methods of torture as not laying a finger on him. She smiled at me when she came up to me, a smile that was so bright no one could imagine what she had been doing for the past hour. She handed her phone to me and I smiled when I noticed that it was still recording, even until now. Quietly, I shut it off and pulled her into a hug. “Thank you…” I whispered but she shook her head immediately. “What—?” “No, thank you,” She whispered lovingly, “…for acknowledging that this is my fight and not trying to get into it. At first, I didn’t know what to

  • The Rejected Luna   Chapter One Hundred and Twenty Nine.

Aurora’s POV: I stood in a corner of the dark room with amusement gleaming in my eyes while Emily glared daggers at me. By the other end, just opposite Emily was Michael who was still fast asleep as a result of the effect of the drug I had knocked him out with. Klaus’ guards had chained him to the metal chair and left him to my mercy… or so I thought until I smelled him, Klaus. I didn’t even turn around to acknowledge him. I didn’t even flinch. “What’re you doing here?” I murmured under my breath, but loud enough that he could hear me. He threw a glance at me. There was a hint of mischief in his eyes when he simply said; “I am here to watch you work.” Deep down, even though I tried to believe him, I knew that he was lying. I could feel it deep inside our mate bond. My heart clenched in my chest when I realized that he was here because he didn’t trust me not to hurt them so much, or perhaps even kill them but I didn’t say a word as regards that. I simply blinked back the tears

Aurora’s POV:I stepped into the dimly lit restaurant with a sultry smile gracing my lips. Even before I stepped in, I already knew where Michael was seated so I immediately made my way to him, almost basking in delight when his eyes widened as soon as he took in my appearance.“Queen superior…” he let out almost breathlessly. His eyes settled just on my exposed cleavage for a few seconds before he begrudgingly pulled them to my face.“…I thought I was supposed to meet with King Klaus today.” He pointed out, eyeing me skeptically.I shrugged; “well, hello to you too, Michael. I am doing fine and you?!” I sassed, eliciting a breathy chuckle from him.“Oh, I’m so sorry, Aurora, I was so stunned by your beauty that I momentarily forgot my manners.” He quickly responded. If that was his silly excuse for flattery then he had a lot more to learn. Refusing to show how unimpressed I was by him, I smiled, briefly exposing my pearly whites. “You flatter me!”Resting against the table, I leaned

Aurora’s POV:I was in the middle of outlining my lips with my new Charlotte Tilbury red lipstick when Klaus stepped into the room. I noticed how his eyes sexily roamed my body before landing on my eyes.“You look stunning,” he let out, his voice no more than a breathy moan escaping his lips. I smiled my toothy smile at him and turned to take a quick glance at my reflection in the mirror.“Thank you, love,” I murmured back.I was clad in a little red dress, and when I say little, I mean that it did little to cover my curves. It was a long dress alright but had a very high slit by the left side, one that almost reached my waist. The neckline was low and droopy, exposing more cleavage than I would have liked but that didn’t deter me. In fact, it made me feel like I could pull this off.My silver hair was in a tight ponytail but after noticing how serious it made me look, I released it, letting it drop and then I stepped away from the mirror.Klaus was already behind me when I spun away
