Chapter One Hundred and Five.

Klaus’ POV:

FLASHBACK:

It was one of those nights when Father would come home late from ‘Pack meetings’. He’d been gone for so long, nearly a month, that Mother and I had gotten used to his absence… to the lack of yelling and his heavy footsteps all around the house.

That night, Mother with her big and roundish-looking stomach, was busy preparing porridge while she danced and hummed to a song I sang for her. It was lovely… we were at peace.

However, our safe space quickly came to an abrupt end when we heard the front door closing. Then followed by heavy footsteps, the one we both dreaded.

“Hey,” She whispered to me. Her eyes which were once full of hope had now been replaced by something akin to fear. Something that made my skin crawl with abhorration.

She pointed to the dining table. “Your father is here. Pretend to read, I’ll serve your dinner when I am done here.”
