Aurora’s POV:The sun overhead scorched my skin but I didn’t flinch, couldn’t flinch, not when I was undergoing one of the greatest tortures I’d experienced in my life right now. I wrapped my arms around myself as I stared straight ahead from behind my sunglasses, at the large portrait of Savannah which was decorated with a beautiful garland. Klaus was also standing beside me, looking so stiff and with an unreadable expression on his face. I stole one last glance at him before looking forward, back to Savannah’s photograph and the priest who was busy saying some recitations. It was Savannah’s funeral and because she belonged to one of the high-class families in Klaus’ pack, it was important that Klaus, being the Alpha, and I, his Luna, should attend.Something felt weird about this place though. It seemed as if I didn’t fit in… like I wasn’t supposed to be here. I couldn’t pinpoint if it was because I had indirectly aided her death or if it was the snide comments I heard from people
Aurora’s POV:“What the hell are you doing here?!” I bellowed so loudly that the veins on my neck popped. This was not the time for informalities- if that was a word- especially when she was someone whom I had especially disliked.Bella was my pompous stepsister, the daughter of my mother’s ex-husband who had made life unbearable for me while I still lived at Starlight Pack with them. Michael’s pack. Memories of my life there fleeted past my mind’s eye and I shuddered at the unfairness I had endured.“I came to see you,” those were her words. Those words so lightly said made me see red. They were words I had hoped to hear in the past, words that I had longed for. I remembered how the entire pack had been against me, some of them even called me names as they thought I was an omega. When Michael rejected me, it became worse and in all of these, I wanted my family. I wanted my mother and my sister. My mother was never so available because she worked but my so-called sister, Bella here,
Aurora’s POV:I watched as Bella took the glass of juice with shaky hands, whilst nodding at the pretty maidservant who had served it to her. She muttered something along the lines of; “Thank you,” under her breath and I couldn’t help but wonder when she suddenly became decent. Her eyes excitedly scanned the house, lightening up whenever she saw something that caught her fancy. I couldn’t help it, I smiled because somehow she reminded me of myself… of the first time I’d been here.Klaus on the other hand, seemed impatient. He scanned her face like it was a ticking bomb while still managing to keep up his stoic expression. It was obvious that he was on edge, not that I wasn’t as well, but I wondered what had him so worked up.“So, Miss Stewart…” he began to say but I quickly interrupted him.“Sterling,” I said, almost chuckling when he raised his eyebrow at me in a way that seemed as though he’d just yelled; “really?” Jokingly, I bit down on my tongue.I noticed how he watched my face
Aurora’s POV:“I never suspected that you both were related…” Bella said for the hundredth time, with a shake of her head. She seemed shocked.I shrugged, not bothering to explain how fucked up my life was to someone who was equally just as fucked up as I was. I quickly rose to my feet, wincing when my shoulders protested in response.“I need to take a shower, it’s been one hectic day,” I said seriously, hoping that she would take the hint and try to leave. She didn’t.Klaus, who also seemed uncomfortable with her presence, arched an eyebrow at her, and then turning to me, he asked; “…would you come down for dinner after that?”I knew what he meant. He wanted me to outrightly tell Bella off but wanted us to be subtle while doing so. I stifled in a chuckle that threatened to escape my lips and replied;“No. I’ll have dinner in bed later… or might not at all.”If Bella understood what we were driving at, she didn’t show it as she glanced between Klaus and me continuously. She stood up.
Aurora’s POV:“Hello, Aurora.” He greeted me with a wide smile. His tone was more than a little flirty but I tried to pay no attention to it. I hated that he was here; that he had chosen a moment in which Klaus was absent to visit, especially with the way he looks at me. Deciding not to show how bothered I was by his presence, I raised my gaze to firmly meet his own, and greeted back with a sneer;“Good day, Alpha Michaelson.”Damon smiled. I noticed how he quickly glanced around the house and then, turning to meet my irritated gaze, he asked; “where’s Klaus?”“He’s absent right now. If you came to see him, then I’m sorry but you’ll have to come back some other time.” I quickly replied, ready to dismiss him.Damon probably noticed my discomfort and the obvious need to get rid of him because he then smiled again, exposing all his pearly whites. Something about the way he did it made me so uncomfortable that I shifted on my feet.He snickered; “…actually, I am here to see both of you.
Klaus’ POV:“Alpha, look what we found,” my worker, Daniel, said with a proud smile while he pushed a small device in my direction.I looked down at it, frowning when I noticed how blackened it was from fire. Daniel on the other hand, still seemed so proud, one would think that he was expecting to be applauded.“What am I looking at?” I snapped, not bothering to hide my irritation.Daniel shifted uncomfortably. He looked back at the warehouse, the one which now stood like a large ruin, and muttered; “it’s an explosive.”At first, I didn’t understand what he was getting at. Heck, I was too pissed that common sense had evaded me. My anger at the ruined new goods made me irrational, but after a careful silence, it began to make little sense to me. I glanced at the small black object.“What do you mean?”He shifted again. “What I mean is that I found this after the firefighters put out the fire earlier today… meaning that it was planted in the warehouse. The fire wasn’t an accident, it wa
Aurora’s POV:I stood rooted in place with my mouth hanging open in shock. I wasn’t sure I had heard Klaus right but from the smug look on Damon’s face, it was safe to say that what I heard was correct. I slowly walked over to Klaus who in turn, took steps back, avoiding me.Fine, I knew I did wrong for allowing Damon to lean so close to me but the way Klaus was going about it wasn’t right either. I was hurt and blinked back tears.“Baby, it’s not what you think. I didn’t even—” I started to say but quickly shut my mouth when he rolled his eyes at me.“I said, get out!” He bellowed again, causing me to flinch.“Baby, I didn’t—”“Please leave,” he quickly butted in, interrupting me again. And then glancing at Damon, he spat; “…and you too, leave now before I am forced to exercise a little bit of power. I also do not want to ever see you here, especially when you know that you do not have an appointment with me.”I could hear the silent disdain in his voice, could even feel it in Klaus’
Emily’s POV:I stood with my back against the pillar watching, waiting to see if what I had planned out would work just how I wanted it to. A few minutes have gone by and I have still not gotten any information regarding Aurora or her stupid mate yet.She was supposed to be mad. My intel told me that she had been in an argument with Klaus who had asked her to leave the house but why wasn’t I seeing her yet? Had she decided to go against his words? Beg him maybe…? The thought made me mad.I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t hear the sounds of footsteps approaching and I was only snapped out of my reverie when I heard a small surprised gasp. Immediately, I turned in the direction of the sound and was surprised when I saw a little blonde girl with blue eyes. She was glaring up at me with nothing but fear in her big doe eyes and when she noticed me staring, she stepped back in panic. At first, I was so surprised by her reaction until I noticed that my dark-colored scarf had slipped
