Chapter 3

The cab driver, who had not yet left, was stunned. These two beautiful women were wealthy heiresses, yet they were both engaged to a poor nobody? It was unbelievable.

Myles, however, was not surprised at all. These were marriage agreements arranged by his grandfather, and there were actually three in total—one more fiancée had not shown up yet.

"Are you two here to fulfill the marriage agreement?" Myles asked as he was a bit unsure.

The two women both smirked sarcastically.

"You're just a poor nobody. How could you possibly deserve me? Stop dreaming about things you can't have. I'm here today to break off our engagement."

"I'm here to break it off too. I'm an heiress, and you're just a mudfish in a stinking ditch. Don't even think of reaching for something you can't attain! Hand over the marriage agreement right now, or I won't be polite!" Cassidy sneered, her voice full of disdain and threat.

The bodyguards the two women brought immediately surrounded Myles, looking fierce and ready to act at any moment.

"Alright, I agree. Just wait here," Myles said.

He was not scared—those bodyguards were no match for him. He agreed to break off the engagements because he had no interest in women who valued wealth over everything else.

Myles then went inside to pack his things. As he looked at the wedding photo of him and Luna on the table, his gaze was filled with a sense of loss.

Three years ago, he hid his true identity and pursued Luna. After much effort, she accepted him, and soon, they walked down the aisle. They were happy back then.

Later, when Luna wanted to start a business, he secretly helped her, and she successfully launched her company. With his continued support, the business grew larger and larger. As the company expanded, however, Luna became busier and busier, often staying out late.

Even when she did come home, they hardly exchanged a few words.

Now, they were divorced, and their three years together seemed utterly insignificant in her eyes.

Myles sighed. He packed a few clothes into a duffel bag and left the house.

After coming out, Myles pulled two marriage agreements from his bag and handed them to the two women.

"Take these and leave."

"Glad you know your place," they sneered.

Satisfied, the two women took the papers and left.

Since Myles had already made arrangements with the cab driver, the driver stayed put. Just as Myles was about to get into the car, another convoy of luxury cars roared onto the scene.

After the cars were parked, a woman stepped out of the sports car in the middle.

She was tall, with fair skin and long, glossy black hair that cascaded naturally down her back. Her bright eyes seemed to sparkle.

However, her most striking feature was her long, slender legs under her short skirt—legs that seemed to invite admiration and playfulness. Unfortunately, her face was hidden behind a veil, so the full extent of her beauty could not be seen.

"Take it," Myles said, tossing the last marriage agreement to her before she could speak.

The three women engaged to him were all heiresses from prominent families in Divinopolis. For an ordinary man, marrying even one of them would be a dream come true.

However, Myles dismissed all three engagements without a second thought.

The woman looked at the marriage agreement with surprise. "Why are you giving me the marriage agreement?"

"You're all here to break off the engagement, right? Let's not waste each other's time. Take the papers and leave," Myles replied impatiently.

"It seems like Marley and Cassidy have already been here and broken off their engagements. But I'm not as shallow as they are. I'm here to fulfill our marriage agreement," the woman said confidently.

"What?" Myles was stunned. "Are you sure? I'm just a poor nobody. Are you certain you want to marry me?"

Myles was genuinely surprised. Although he did not know the exact identity of the woman in front of him, she was undoubtedly another wealthy heiress.

Even though her face was hidden, it was obvious she was not unattractive. Besides, with a figure like hers, she could easily find an outstanding man.

Meanwhile, he appeared to be a poor nobody on the surface, so the idea of her falling for him at first sight seemed unbelievable.

"This marriage was arranged by my grandfather, and I trust that he wouldn't go out of his way to harm me. So, I believe you must have exceptional qualities.

"Of course, even if you don't, it doesn't matter to me. I have the ability to lift you to the highest heights.

"Oh, by the way, let me introduce myself. I'm Remi Reyes, the heiress of the Reyes family from Divinopolis," she said with a regal demeanor, like a princess standing on a high pedestal.

"Do you really want to marry me?" Myles asked, still in disbelief.

"Of course. I wouldn't joke about something as important as marriage," Remi answered firmly.

However, Myles still found it hard to believe. It made no sense to him.

Remi continued, "I'm serious. I'll give you time to think it over. I'll be at the investment conference held by Divine King Group. If you've made up your mind by then, you can unveil my veil yourself.

"But let me remind you of one thing—I've worn this veil for the past five years. Except for my family, no one has seen my face in all that time. If you decide to unveil me, no matter how unattractive I might be, you must marry me."

Without wasting any more words, Remi turned and left.

"Interesting," Myles said to himself, feeling a spark of curiosity about this woman.

Parker left the hospital after visiting Wendell as the investment conference was coming soon and he had many things to handle.

"Luna, Parker is truly a great choice. He's the eldest son of the Quill family and the future head of the family. If you marry him, our whole family will live comfortably for the rest of our lives," Ingrid said.

Aren quickly chimed in, "Mom's right, Lune. You should agree to Mr. Quill's pursuit sooner rather than later. After all, you're a divorced woman now, and who knows if Mr. Quill might change his mind one day?"

Luna replied, "Enough, both of you. Mr. Quill is great, but I just don't feel that way about him."

"What do feelings have to do with it? With money, feelings will follow," Ingrid said.

"Exactly. Once you're in bed, it's all the same," Aren muttered under his breath.

Luna was not convinced. After some thought, she made a bold decision and called her assistant, Sienna Stone.

"Ms. Wright, what can I do for you?" Sienna asked.

"I need you to prepare a special gift. I want to deliver it to the Divine King personally," Luna instructed.

"What kind of gift?" Sienna asked.

Luna whispered her reply.

Sienna's eyes widened in surprise after hearing Luna's plan. "Ms. Wright, is this gift really appropriate?"

"The Divine King is no ordinary person. A typical gift won't catch his eye. Only such a gift will truly interest him," Luna said confidently.
